Hi everyone! I'm thinking about buying a 2004 Honda Shadow Aero 750 and would love to hear from current or previous owners.

What should I look out for when buying one? How reliable is it, and are there any common issues or things I should know about?

I'd really appreciate hearing about your personal experiences with this bike. I'll attach some photos of the one I'm considering buying.

Hello everyone i have no mechanical experience and little fabrication experience but I want to buy this honda shadow vt600cd 1998 I turn it into a chopper. Im a bit confused on the difference between the deluxe and the normal and the vt and the vlx. Would buying the deluxe model interfere with getting tj brutal customs parts? Everything i could find said that it was just extra chrome and trim on the deluxe but It also looks like the exhaust is different as well. I know that is lots of questions but I really just want to know do people chop vt600cd deluxe 1998 shadows. Id love to see peoples builds. Attached is the bike im buying.

Wassup yall so im a 6’1 160lbs male and i wanna know to my tall fellas should i buy this bike?? I found a few 750s for good prices and i just wanted to know if im to tall for this bike or not. I know these bikes are pretty customizable so if i really have an issue I could custom something up for my liking but still.

What is everyone using for their oil and filter?

I bought my first bike ($2,600 2013 Honda Shadow Aero 750) towards the beginning of summer and have slowly been fixing it up (~$500).

I’ve been wanting to change it into a bobber with new pipes and a tank I bought from TJ Brutal Customs ($1029). Talking to a mechanic, for help since I’m not mechanically inclined, I wanted to see what was left for me to fix and how much it would cost to install and chop to get it to look like I want it equated to $2048. They said I’d need an intake boot replacement and some safety issues addressed.

My question is would you guys:
Keep the bike and pay to fix it to look how I’d like?
Or
Sell the bike (probably for a loss) and find something I’d like to ride up from the beginning?

Anybody know where I can find some 8" T Bars with a bit of pull back for this bike? Its looking impossible, but my uncle has a set and they're the "riser free" type

Hi guys!

I found this '93 Honda Shadow 600 at a really cheap price (1.4k EUR), it starts fine but it has a clogged carb so it spills fuel out of it while running. Seems like it would be a nice winter project considering everything... My only concern right now is that except for some "chrome rust" here and there (which I'm not really bothered) there are also some rust patches on the swingarm, exactly where the leather bags were sitting.

Sadly I don't have a better picture but touching it by finger it felt more like a buildup than an actual erosion on the frame itself.... so now I'm wondering, is it a "common" problem? Should it be easily fixable?

I was wondering if the fork has a cover on it? I wanted to get some chrome forks but it kinda looks like it’s another piece that is over the fork. If it is cover how easy is it remove?

I have a 01 1100 and i cant seem to be able to find the problem. I seem to have some short circuit or something. My headlight always dims when i press either brake and flashes when i turn on a turn signal. The starter also takes a while to start the bike, it doesnt make a bad battery buzzing sound it just sounds normal, takes a while to turn over. I have replaced the stator and the regulator twice, i cant seem to find the problem.

Mechanics usually just replace those two parts but domt really fix the root cause. How can i find the short or how can i find what is wrong with my bike. Could it be faulty starter draining the battery ? Chat gpt says the dimming is caused by a heavy overload.

This is a pic before i put on 4" forward controls. I had to remove the engine guard bar to put them on. Is there a set of bars that work with 4" forward controls? 2004 Aero VT750C

My brother just got his first motorcycle a Shadow 750. I want to get him a tool roll and new tools for his bike. I watched him swap out his battery the other day and he just kept all his tools loose in one of his saddle bags. I know that he needs a 14mm for his seat and a small Phillips head for the battery. He has a pair of old channel locks, I thought about getting him a good pair of Knipex Cobra pliers. I don’t know one thing about working on a motorcycle. Everything I’ve ever worked on has had four wheels. So I was wondering if you guys could help me out with some suggestions on what kinds of useful tools I could buy for my brother for his motorcycle? Any and all suggestions and ideas are greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!!

My bike turned on! If i fully turn the key it shows no signs of life but if i angle the key slightly everything turns on, the engine started and everything! Should i be concerned about the key having to twist slightly at an angle since fully turning it shows no signs of life?

It runs after clearing a clogged jet, probably couldve cleaned it a bit better I honestly paid more attention to making sure the 2 jets were cleaned and didnt pay much attention to their passages or anything else, I did replace the float needle and that works fine because the rear cylinder float needle is replaced too and that cylinder seems to be running fine but the front cylinder keeps misfiring then dropping out completely, all new ignition coils and I know they work fine because I replaced the coils before I pulled carb, new intake boots, new screws for the float bowl, new complete slide/diaphragms

1999 honda shadow ace vt750c

So my bike was stolen and I recently got it back with a bunch of janky modifications on it. One of the things they did, was replace the headlight with an LED light, that seems to have worked up until about a week ago. The light only turns on, if the ignition switch is being pressed half way, if i press it all the way it turns off, it flickers when the bike cranks, but since it runs relatively well, it only gets like 2 turnovers before cranking. Once the bike cranks, light shuts off, unless I hold the ignition down slightly.

Anyone know where I should start looking? Electrical as opposed to mechanical has never been my forte

Just had new jets put on ( pipe is different from photo ) carbs completely rebuilt and a new fuel pump and is still struggling to go over 50. Paid over 700$ in work and bike is about the same as when I dropped it off. what could this possibly be

anyone know how to remove the backrest? got the 4 visible bolts off- do i need to remove the entire chrome piece to unscrew the backrest off?
