Updated Edit: The Google Play System Update dated September 1, 2026 have all updated to January 1, 2027 so the problem is universal for me covering all Andriod phones with Android 12 or newer. Verified by others below. 98Mb update. Likely the October 1, 2026 update IMO. Google Play Services 26.42.30 Google Play: 53.6.16-34. The October Update should cover at least 3 CVEs.

Keep updating Google Play System until you get it. May only be able to do two or three updates per day (there were over a dozen September 1, 2026 Google Play System Updates, which may or may not be able to be consolidated).

Original: All of my phone models android 12 and newer are getting an update of 90 to 190mb this morning. About half are reporting the January 1, 2027 while the other half report September 1, 2026. This is true for Samsung, 1+, and Moto phones. Rebooting and trying again does not change the September 1, 2026 or January 1, 2027 dates. The dates are typically mixed on the same model phones.

Note: I did check the date and time, which were set to automatic and using various national networks. Cleared cache of of Google Play and Google Play Services and powered off with no change to the September 1, 2026 or January 1, 2027 date.

After a week or so thr update is live for us time to join in on the enjoyment

I've been in the One UI 9 beta for months and reported 4-5 bugs, but now that the stable version is out, none of them were fixed.

What's the point of the beta program anyway? We go through the trouble of finding bugs that their incompetent QA missed, only to be ignored.

I think it's time to switch to Chinese brands like Oppo, Vivo, or Xiaomi since they have some of the best software out there.

Just got updated to baseband S928U1UEU6EZIF. Contains Andriod Security Patch Level September 5, 2026.

Edit: Updates for regular s24 One UI 8.5 to 9.0 should begin shortly. (Had not seen it yet.)

Dear Samsung. You not only have to tell me about the new AI features I don't want.

You should also tell me about new GUI features. Especially if they are turned on by default.

When I upgraded, I got a new unwanted search bar on every home screen.

Figuring out how to turn if off was confusing.

settings->Home screen->show search on home screen->search. Turn off.

If I want a search widget, I would put it there myself.

So after using my upgraded s24 ultra now for about 2+ hours since the upgrade, i can say at least for me, the "new" features are ho-hum. I think i had great expectation, but lets be honest, the s24 series is a great device, and i didn't have a single issue before hand with slowless or anything like that. The phone feels as snappy and such as 8.5 did.

I do not use the Ai melarchy much at all, outside of chatgpt, i have no need so im not messing with that. I honestly rarely go into my drop down settings much to do anything as well, so all the customization in there is kinda moot for right now.

The things i use the most, Android Auto and playing media in the car are the same, unaffected (has more to do with the Android Auto app, then the OS). Using google messenger, nothing has changed there (again, app).. The Lockscreen changes are nice, i think.. Reminders and such i turned on, i dunno if that was there in 8.5, but its on now.

I was able to get rid of the blue dot location usage thing by tapping on it and just acknowledging all these things were using it, now its gone away (saw some people say they couldnt get it off, Mine went right away, slide the drop down, hit the location thing on the far right, say ok, and poof it goes away), but im assuming its going to come back.. (It did), so i'd like to see a slider to turn that off.

No change in battery life notices, it was great before, still seems great. I dont use alot of widgets or things that will cramp down the CPU and cause stuttering.. Just a weather widget, Score tracker, google search bar (not the new one, i turned that sucker off first thing)..and alarm clock.

Our devices are still IMO top of the line devices. Will be for a bit more time.

Of note one thing i did do, which i recommend, i offloaded a TON of pictures and videos, where as my phone has about 350 Gig Free (512).. If your phone is a bloated mess, just dump it all down to your pc (where you can acually organize it better).. SSD's dont like being near capacity, and they last longer to boot.

I'm curious how people have E2EE with iPhones I'm on s24plus on Verizon. I have friends that updated to newest iOS and don't turn off settings and I still don't have it. Not a huge deal to me as nothing I send via text is hugely important was just curious why it's so spotty of who has it and who doesn't

Im not sure why, the phone often charge very slow when phone gets hot abit (Normally it show charging time, but it often didnt appear after the update and it extremely slow) Didn't happen before in oneui 8.5.

Especially when gaming, I enable the USB PD charging when gaming.

1. The phone 2%, I charge. It's a bit hot.

2. I game, the phone become 1%.

Im using 3rd party charger, UGreen 45w with Ugreen 5A cable

Oh, and the google search engine at the bottom making me frustrated. Glad I found a way to edit the position. Sad that S24 plus don't get the horizontal lock......

Is this battery backup normal on S24 Snapdragon? (Need opinions)

Usage: mostly Instagram, plus Telegram and Spotify

Does this look like good battery life for an S24 Snapdragon? How much screen-on time do you get from a full charge? Thanks!

hey guys i have reset my phones a while ago when i was on one ui 8.5 and i hastily selected another search engine while one ui setup and at that time i just used the google search bar but once the phone got one ui 9 the research bar is stuck and I cannot change my search engine. And the search engine that I have selected is totally not compatible on Android phones and it is only for Android tablets

And I don't really want to reset my phone again to change the search engine, and I have tried long pressing it. It doesn't do anything. I have a fiddle around all the settings that I could. But I couldn't find anything there either so can anyone tell me how to change the search engine to Google? And get my search park back, because I use it a lot

Hi all, please help I'm about to lose my mind. A few days ago I noticed my Twitch wouldn't register my watch time. I had to keep closing my stream and reopening it to get my channel points. Ok, no biggie, I barely use the app. However I'm in a MAJOR issue now because its not just twitch. Its Outlook too (aka big part of my job). Clicking outlook, it won't load any of my emails. So I did what the internet said and deleted and reinstalled it, but now it just says I have NO emails. I have deleted my accounts from my phone and readded them several times, my wifi is on, no battery saver or data saver modes activated. Auto sync is on but when I try to sync my apps the "sync now" is grayed out and it says "sync off for all items". I don't know what else to do and this sounds like its a rare enough problem that I can't get any kind of straight answer online. Anyone have experience with this? How did you fix it?

According to my source, the update is projected to be released tomorrow, October 20, between 3:00 and 8:00 for US unlocked and Verizon devices. I will disclose the source once the update is confirmed, as its credibility relies on the accuracy of this information.

When will it come? It's been a week since everybody else got it besides us pretty much.

So guys this is about my 2 year old Samsung S24 (base version with the Exynos chip) and it's giving my an SOT of ~2.5 hours and the battery dropped to 19. I've only used insta, whatsapp, youtube and ~20 mins of hotspot since fully charged. I didn't use much today. And I had it charged overnight. It was 3 pm when I took that screenshot. I know Exynos is inefficient. But I didn't know it was THIS inefficient. Anyone else facing the same issue or is my phone just weird?

Since the update I'm having issues with certain apps. If I'm connected to Wifi they won't load whatsoever they just sit with a blank screen or with the loading circle & never load. As soon as I turn off Wifi and use Mobile Data it loads perfectly fine. This is only happening with some apps though. All social media apps, banking apps work fine. My Walgreens & Kroger app which I used for all my family's Rx won't work, ESPN, DirectTV, these are just the ones I've identified so far.

I've tried clearing cache from all the apps, uninstalling and reinstalling all the apps, forgetting Wifi, resetting Wifi & Bluetooth, there's been countless other things I've tried in connection settings as well. Nothing has worked.

I'm beyond frustrated after nearly 4+ hours of trying to fix this. I can't seem to find any other posts of anyone else having these same issues either. IDK what else to even try.
