Reminder of NSFW-tag Rules

This sub is a lot more stringent with what is considered NSFW than most general spaces. We're here for a wide variety of ages and want to make sure that all users can choose what they do and don't want to see.

What needs a tag-

  • Visible breasts or genitals (anatomically correct nudity is allowed here for anatomy learning purposes as long as it doesn't break the no porn rule as clarified below)
  • Nude or bottomless anthro characters with mostly human anatomy, even "barbie doll" nudity. (If it would be weird for your grandma to peek over your shoulder and see it, then tag it.)
  • Quadrupedal characters with visible bits
  • Clothed characters with genitals or nipples outlined by clothing. (A vaccuum-packed banana hammock or headlights top need a tag)
  • Suggestive poses. Even if "censored" or clothed.
  • Any gore beyond mild scrapes and bruises.

What is not allowed here at all-

  • Any sex acts
  • Visible arousal or fluids
  • Cropped yiff
  • Fetishes (Even ones that don't always look sexual like vore, inflation, etc)

Hope that helps clarify wherever there may be confusion.

Help - Title must specify what kind of help Anatomy Help

I've tried studying anatomy and combining shapes. I've split up the studying to head, legs, torso, and arms. I feel like I have an ok (?) grasp on legs and maybe head. Connecting the limbs together and the arms/torso are what I struggle with the most. I know my proportions definitely need work as well. I tried making this to show where I'm at. It absolutely looks wrong, but I'm not sure what specifically is making it all look so wrong. I'm a visual learner, so red marking or images would be GREATLY appreciated

the background and stuff looks so much better than the character, and it just looks out of place.

dont mind the compresion btw, reddit cant handle images above 20mb, and this one was conviniently 24mb, so i had to slightly compress it

Critique - Title must specify what kind of critique How can I improve her anatomy, clothes, and pose?

Hi!! I wanted feedback on everything in the title, but I need to add a few things. First, I can't change the pose that much because everything is already "locked in" this way, but I can still make minor changes, like adjusting the angle of an arm, for example. Btw, she's supposed to be holding a big sword, and I'll post the pose reference in the comments!

As for the clothes, I don't think I can make anything too complex, but I can try something different if y'all give me some ideas! I also don't want the clothes to hide her muscles too much.

As for the anatomy, I can change pretty much anything!

Anyway, thanks in advance, y'all!!

I’m currently trying to draw my own OC. A hybrid mix between a wild and domesticated cat of some kind. Drew this with most of it from imagination and some random refs I found online.

I feel like something is off about it. Maybe it’s because I haven’t found a style that I like the most, so it’s still a bit… off looking.

Anyways, let me know what any of you think about it.

Help - Title must specify what kind of help Wolf's Body feels off, any suggestions on how to fix that ^^"

No matter how i tweak the body of the wolf, it kinda feels off.
I added some support lines to show how the wolf is laying on the dragon.
Would anyone have suggestions on how to improve it? That would be awesome :3

(I also have troubles with finding any references, since this just doesn't occur irl, a wolf laying like that on an object, i dont know how the body behaves ^^"
how are furry artists doing it, do they just imagine the bones of a wolf? i struggle with such kind of mental gymnastics, posing a skeleton in my head ^^")

I've wrote down some issues I'm having with the furry body. I think I've gotten the head down okay, but now I'm struggling with front facing anatomy. I do better with sides and 3 quarters but can't do front facing. Im having trouble finding resources to understand how to solve the specific issues im having.

Help - Title must specify what kind of help Help on drawing my fursona

Hi! I'm looking for some help regarding my fursona.

I am no good at art and my family don't have much money, nor do they know I am a furry, I'm not sure how they'd feel about it. I also unfortunately cannot get a job for the foreseeable as I've recently had major surgery.

Is there any chance somebody could give me some advice on how to go about drawing her?

I do have an AI image of her, that I generated a while ago before I found out AI was bad, but for obvious reasons I do not want to use this image of her.

I personally use ibispaint on mobile to draw and the lines just don't come out as expected, it's low resoluted, jagged and over I can't draw small details with it like small strands of fur, it'll just turn out looking either too low resoluted or too big, also, first time drawing full body, please critique 😩

Help - Title must specify what kind of help I don't know how to simplify using basic shapes

Post image
126 Upvotes

Hi, I have a problem: I don't know how to break down a reference into basic shapes the right way. I've watched a lot of tutorials (like the ones by linesSensei, among others), where they use a sphere and a cube for the snout, but when I try to apply this simplification to real animals, I don't know how to do it correctly. That’s why I need someone to teach me how to simplify a real animal reference. Sorry if this is a silly question, but I really want to learn this.

Help - Title must specify what kind of help Need help/advice for re-learning art and drawing in a way that is "f u n"

for a bit of context, i'm primarily a musician rather than an artist. i haven't drawn much in the past couple of years due to some self esteem issues and now i can't seem to actually draw something (or even try) without tearing myself a new one over every little mistake. plus trying to draw without a reference is pure pain for me. not really helping this situation is the fact that i created this little story in my head and i have general descriptions for each character (species, height, build, other details, etc), plus scenes for it and a general idea for a visual style. so a long winded way of saying "i'm making a comic about gay furries who are gay," big whoop, story's been told a thousand times.

but i can't draw or can't bring myself to draw, and whichever way it is makes me really sad because i used to enjoy drawing before the self esteem stuff from before, and i have literally no idea how or where to restart:

"what tutorials do i use? what do i start with? do i re-learn on pencil and paper or go straight to drawing on a tablet? do i need to learn this and that before i can even think about drawing so much as a circle and on that note why are circles so infuriating to draw? how do i communicate who and what each character is without straight up saying it and just communicating visually? how do i draw the same character from multiple angles on different pages without making them look like a completely different character? seriously why are circles so painful to draw?" and it's just painful.

if anyone has any tips or any recommendations i would literally owe you my life 🙏😭
