where do aspects end and stunts start?
so my freinds and i are pretty new to fate, we did 3 sessions of a supers based games running off of superpowered fate and wearing the cape books, and did do a one shot for venture city a while ago, we also did a accelerated one shot last year, and are thinking of transitioning our main game into fate for more narrative freedoms.
were gonna do one more one shot and if it goes well are thinking about making the leap, my only question pertains to how to make one of the character concepts work for the one shot, this is going to be a murder mystery one shot taking place on a train, the player character wants to be a gunslinging cow boy with vampirism. now the only real experience we have with supernatural abilities comes from things like aspect permissions and stunts to specalize those aspect permissions, however i have read through dresden accelerated and noticed that in that system there was mechanics for hunger fueled powers, now i know you can make it as complicated or as simple as you want with fate which is really cool, but when it comes to things involving regeneration i dont find alot of good refrence in the books ive read. it comes down to spending a fate point to clear a consequence, or expending a resource to recover physical stress, but then how does this work with aspect permissions? in the wearing the cape book it says if a part of me being a brick with aspect permissions is im bullet proof, dont even roll to see if i can be hurt unless im being hit with armor piercing military grade slugs, so does that mean that because the character is a vampire and immortal they shouldnt take consequences period unless there is somthing using like garlic/holy water/ stakes etc? or shold it be that they are able to roll some skill to over come physical consequences by lowering the sveerity? or will i be forced to make a resource system? my question is mainly how do you handle the scope of what an aspect permission can get for you? for example in the book being a precognitive sniper means you can see the future, so they gave the character a stunt to dodge attacks using notice instead of athletics, but my question is why do they need a stunt for that if their aspect permission would already let them do that? were new to this so things sometimes feel very inconsistent, my question is where do aspect permissions end and where do stunts start? also is it in our best interest to make a vampirism sub system for this one shot or should the player just be immune to everything or should it be better for them to just regenerate consequences fully scene by scene? i guess what am asking is how do i best handle this because rn im just lost, also if there is a fate discord people know about where i can go to drop questions thatd be helpful, sorry for that my question is a little all over the place
