Opinion / Commentary Some of you really need to get a life.

Expecting the mods to have the same mental illness and obsessive complex about the world as you do is not healthy.

Did you ever think that maybe we are just regular ass dudes who aren’t interested in taking part in your online war? If you are so interested in overthrowing/preserving the government, then go home. At least then none of us will have to suffer through you making fools of yourselves on the internet because you won’t have it!

Same to the Ethiopian trolls who think it’s funny to talk about invading Eritrea. Yall should have shame…

Bunch of sociopaths in here pushing your rhetoric, hope yall get shot first.

Opinion / Commentary It's not in our culture to call people "Galla"

• Upvotes

"Agame", "adgi", "qomal" etc are all fair game but we have never used traditionally used slurs againsts Oromos (because we don't border them and historically did not interact). This is something you only see amongst the new gens raised on TikTok copying Ethiopians. You don't need to be horrible to get your point across.

good news: The British public news outlet Channel 4 took down its report titled “Why is Eritrea invading Ethiopia?” and apologized to the Eritrean community for using inaccurate information and old photos from 2023, when Eritrean forces withdrew from Tigray

kitcha fit fit

Is kitcha fit fit with yogurt a good food to eat on a caloric surplus? And how much calories, protein, and carbs would be on an average typical sized plate. I know it would probably be dependent on the amount of tesmi being used but what's a rough estimate?

What may have led to this with the current situation is quite interesting and shows that there are clearly things that top generals disagree with.

PART 2 of my theory everyone... this time there are some videos to watch

Part 1: https://www.reddit.com/r/Eritrea/comments/1x4evmy/comment/pggv88w/?context=1&screen_view_count=3

Clip 1: Addis Ababa, 1993. This is in English, and we can see he is quite enthusiastic to the idea of re-joining Ethiopia despite having just held referendums that year. He emphasises the need to not have any reservations for full integration starting with economic integration within a number of years/3-4 decades.

Clip 2: PIA tells us that whoever doesn't the truth says that Eritrea and Ethiopia are two different peoples and also goes on to say from then on they will go on as one people.

Clip 3: A demonstration in Asmara (Harnet Avenue), with no bullets flying/government intervention, goes on chanting slogans that we have become one, that love will win and that we should be added back (into Ethiopia).

Clip 4: My Amharic isn't that good, so maybe any Ethiopians can help with translations from r/Ethiopia but Abiy with PIA in the background seems to repeat the word medemer (to join together) and talks about Isaias perhaps offering Asseb (especially around the 7:18 mark in the video).

Of course there are many more instances that relate to this theory, for example, when PIA told Abiy on live TV that Abiy will lead us now and that he will delegate his responsibilities to Abiy. We can see examples of this actually having occurred when Abiy represented PIA and therefore Eritrea during an AU conference and the Epstein files where it was understood that PIA and Abiy were working towards reunifying the countries.

That brings us back to the current situation - the buffer between Asmara and Addis is Woyane so it seems as though this war PIA has yet to really support the TPLF in this conflict. If this is really the case and we're looking at losing Eritrea's sovereignty, how does everyone feel and perhaps is there an inner conflict within leadership?

Discussion / Questions TPLF are now our best friends right?

Am currently a bit confused as I just woke up recently to find out that we are having a great alliance with TPLF now. So I guess soon our Dictator will go to Tigray and will say the famous words of "Aykezernan" right? And we all will be applauding to it right? Hegdef politics in a nutshell. Zero Value. Zero.

Aligning with TPLF after all these years is like the utmost betrayal. Let that sink in. Sometimes you might think it cant get lower than that as the bottom has been reached and Hegdef will find a way to reach a new bottom again and again since around 40 years by now... Hegdef thanks for nothing.

Anyone finding this alliance to be good is betraying all of our fallen soldiers in the past 30 Years.

How Eritrea Can Overcome the Domestic Fuel and Energy Crisis Following the Long-Term Closure of the Strait of Hormuz

A closed strait has become Eritrea’s fuel emergency.
The long-term closure of the Strait of Hormuz has caused a severe fuel crisis in many countries, including Eritrea. Eritrea relies on fuel for its diesel-powered electricity plants, water trucks, and transportation sector.

Fuel rationing is already slowing daily movement.
The government has partially suspended the sale of fuel in parts of the country. This is not only because supplies are tight. Eritrea is also storing fuel in case transport is disrupted again by the Iran conflict, to protect critical infrastructure, and because of the Ethiopian threat. The result has been restrictions in transportation: public buses and city buses run less often, fewer taxis are operating, and people are driving their cars less.

New suppliers must replace a single dangerous route.
Eritrea must diversify its fuel imports away from a heavy dependence on Gulf shipments through Hormuz. Possible partners include Egypt, Russia, Sudan, South Sudan, and Nigeria.

Egypt and Suez can offer a safer path to Saudi fuel.
Egypt is a particularly practical option. Egypt is connected to Saudi oil and gas pipeline networks and therefore has more stable access to Saudi fuel. Egypt could resell Saudi fuel to Eritrea at a fair price. Egyptian waters are not affected by the Houthi threat in the same way as the southern Red Sea corridor. Reshipping Saudi fuel from Suez could give Eritrea more affordable and more reliable access to fuel, because cargo would move through a route that avoids both Hormuz and the most dangerous stretches of the lower Red Sea.

Eritrea should look for oil and gas off its own shores.
Eritrea also needs to start exploring its own offshore oil and gas potential. It is believed that unknown reserves may exist along Eritrea’s shores. Exploration will take time, but it is necessary if the country is to reduce its dependence on imports.

Solar and wind can cut the country’s diesel burden.
Eritrea should also prioritize renewable energy, especially solar and wind projects. These can ease pressure on diesel power plants and make electricity, water delivery, and transport less vulnerable to foreign supply shocks.

All in all, Eritrea needs new routes, its own resources, and clean power.
Eritrea cannot wait for Hormuz to reopen and hope the shortage ends on its own. The country needs new fuel suppliers, a fair resale arrangement with Egypt through Suez, serious exploration of its own offshore oil and gas, and a faster push into solar and wind. That is how Eritrea can keep electricity plants running, water trucks moving, and buses, taxis, and private cars on the road.

Opinion / Commentary Oromo-led Ethiopia is good for Eritrea

I remember reading Berhane Abrehe's book a while back and there was a page where he spoke about how he looked forward to the Oromo and Southern youth taking over Ethiopia given that they did not identify as Habesha and so perhaps would be less covetous of Eritrea's territory and less prone to what most call "albaso politics".

Now did this materialise? No. But surprisingly an opportunity has arisen in the inverse.

The political ascendency of the Oromo and their gradual shift to ethnic majoritarianism will mean that the civilisational state of Ethiopia, centred around Orthodox Christianity and highlanders will effectively be dead in the minds of many Amhara and Tigrayans. Who will they see as more dependable? An increasingly Pentecostal and non-Habesha Ethiopia ruled by someone called Abiy AHMED ALI or an Eritrea to the north that they perceive to be predominantly Orthodox and Highlander populated (even if that's not necessarily the case in reality).

Eritrea can position itself as the last bulwark of the North and cleave away the Highlanders of Ethiopia to use as our useful idiots. The Oromo and Southern Peoples of Ethiopia cannot make the same emotive arguments about shared culture and heritage that the Amhara and Tigrayans used to use when they were in power. This is why their diatribes about "Barentu and Assab were originally Oromo" sound delusional to any sane person. This is essentially what Ximdo is in the macro - to pit the North and the South against each other while we pull the strings. This is already working. Shabia could not even imagine fomenting this much discord in Ethiopia through their proxies when Woyane were in charge.

This is why I am all in on Ximdo as someone who dislikes all Ethiopians, irrespective of their background.

Discussion / Questions What made the EPLF (Shabia) succeed in occupying independence in comparison to ELF (Jebha)?

Genuine question because from what I heard, I believe one of the contributing factors is that they institutionalised federalism with their whole zone thing and they were pro Arab or Baathist but other then that I’m not aware of what else and I want to get a better understanding
