Report Gateway News Network Issue #17: Cycle 593 "Another Relic Rush Special"

Mahon Agents have a busy cycle this week Mahon Agents had a very interesting cycle that kept us quite busy. With twenty-nine new acquisitions, three fortifications, and two strongholds. While it may seem interesting during a relic rush week, the primary reason is Mahon agents were quite busy multi-tasking. On one hand a relic rush, which helped with acquisitions. But on the other hand, we had to juggle a very popular community goal and defensive operations. Mahon Agents certainly were not bored this week and succeeded in most of our goals. The Prime Minister called it “a balanced cycle of strategic acquisitions and logistics.” Our agents called it “caffeine-induced psychosis at 300 meters per second through the mail slot.”
Kaine’s acquisition shopping spree Kaine agents had a much different cycle than Mahon agents due to only having to balance acquisitions and the CG. The relic rush netted Kaine agents fifty-six new star systems, as well as twelve new fortifications, and three strongholds. Kaine’s cycle report reads like a vacation itinerary: grabbed new systems, banked the CG credits, and had so little defensive stress that station radar operators were caught playing solitaire.
The Imperial Relic March goes strong The empire of course had an amazing relic rush, especially on the Princess’ side, even with balancing a major CG goal. Starting off with Princess Duval, who gained eighty-three whopping new systems. As well as getting eleven new fortifications, and a stronghold. Empress Duval followed behind with thirty-four new systems, seven new fortifications, and two new strongholds. This shows the Duval family had quite the field day. Both the princess and the Empress had monster acquisition cycles– proof that nothing motivates galactic expansion quite like passive-aggressive family rivalry.
The Federation has a slower, but productive Relic rush cycle Over on the Federation side, things are looking up. While not making the top leaderboards, Archer still acquired twelve new systems, three new fortifications, and three new strongholds. Meanwhile Winters gained sixteen new systems, four new fortifications, and a stronghold. Archer and Winters didn’t break any galactic records, but they kept the lights on and the supply lines humming. For the Federation, any cycle where the cabinet isn’t publicly suing each other counts as a major strategic triumph.
Fortifying for Law and Disorder? An interesting thing that caught my attention was our pirate friends at the Kumo crew. While they didn’t seem to gain many systems, the interesting part is the seventeen new fortifications and two new strongholds. I could hear the sea shanties from Mahon territory. Perhaps Delaine pilots are gearing up for the new pirate activities coming at the end of the year? Or are they just building a “Pirates of the Kumo Crew” Amusement park ride? Tune in next time, same pirate time, same pirate channel.
Sirius Corporation says “stock go up" Sirius Corporation is no stranger of constantly reporting stock growth and system acquisitions. With thirty-two new systems, sixteen fortifications, and four new strongholds. It’s no secret LYR is definitely enjoying an executive bonus on this one. Speaking with Sirius Corp representatives we were told the boardroom called it a “textbook synergistic cycle”-- which is Sirius-speak for “we took territory, fortified the margins, and nobody crashed the quarterly stock price.”
A massive week for Utopia Antal was a very surprising one this cycle. Coming in with thirty new acquisitions, nine new fortifications, and two new strongholds, Antal agents had an amazing cycle this week. Utopia had a fantastic cycle, which means a few thousand more pilots have plugged their brains into the Sim-Archive. Look, if joining a galactic cyber-commune comes with 100% rebuy discounts, maybe they really are onto something.
Grom’s Defensive Cycle On the side with the impressive beard, Grom agents played more defensively during this relic rush, but were still very impressive. With sixteen new acquisitions, thirteen new fortifications, and three new strongholds it's clear he does, in fact, hide secrets in his beard. You have to give Grom credit, no corporate memos, no spiritual lectures–just pure, unfiltered military discipline and a territory map that keeps getting slightly more intimidating every single Thursday (because Tuesdays are reserved for Tacos).
Special Report: Lakon Announces Asp Scout Upgrades Lakon Spaceways has announced a special upgrade for several ships, but the one that caught our attention was the Asp Scout. The Scout has been known to be on the sidelines the last few years. Now, Lakon is offering free upgrades coming very soon with improved jump range, speed, and more. Check out Codedsteve’s appreciation post here: https://forums.frontier.co.uk/threads/asp-scout-appreciation-thread.517577/page-5#post-10907575
