The world had one major issue. Birthrates. Birthrates were down across the board, and the newest generation didn’t seem eager for sex at all. I recently kicked off a scenario and my fellow writer is going way more in-depth on background info than I ever expected. They are asking a ton of questions about the home life of the character(s). The problem is that I've placed their home and home-life in a neighborhood that's signature of American urban sprawl.

Think something individual houses in a row that is basically a subdivision. A residential street but I'd barely call it a neighborhood. Going to work, school, the store always involves a car. There might be uber or lyft but certainly no other public transit. You're out on the edges of a metro area so while the area passes for semi-rural you're not going down to the "Town Pub" or running into the same people at "The Town Store."

More than anything I set this up to make their home a transitory space. They don't do things at home or in town. At least not interesting artistic or cultural engagements.

I'm trying to describe this to a European who presumed owning their own home meant they were rich. They are also unfamiliar with WHY anyone would move to this kind of area and want to know what the community is like.

How would you describe this residential wasteland?

I would appreciate your views on the following project. This is an early concept and not a prompt yet, so I request feedback at a high level in terms of the concept itself and how to move it forward into an engaging psychological RP.

And attire is flexible. Whether or not your character has tasks or not, in the end I would catch you, and then comes the second part:

When signing up for my classes, I needed a humanities credit, and ended up taking Black Studies for my second semester. And after a first unsuccessful semester of making friends, I returned from Christmas break to the start of the second semester hoping to have better luck in one of my classes. And that’s when in the first lecture of this class, we were called to get into groups of two to discuss the assignment, and as I searched for a partner, everyone already had someone, my eyes met yours, and it seemed that problem was solved. As usual, I felt a bit awkward here, but I never felt like I belonged anywhere yet. But I was also interested to learn.

After that first lecture happened, I was starting to feel that maybe I could find a friend in you as we seemed to hit it off well. The second lecture came around the next week, and I sat closer to you, and once group discussions were called again, we had nobody else, so it was once again the two of us. The tutorial came around, and we shared that, so I decided to sit next to you. And from there, a friendship would form as we started to talk about other stuff completely unrelated, and hang out outside of courses. Getting food, talking… maybe cuddling… and some other stuff. With the failed attempts of my first semester from how shy I was to the point I couldn’t approach someone on my own, and not even being friends with my suitemate, I finally had someone to chat with. And well, I started to form a bit of a crush… but… friends worked too. Unless you reciprocated that is.

Plot Info

I’ve been wanting to do some form of interracial roleplay for a while, and I’ve wanted it to be something nice and cute and wholesome. And I figured that maybe something like Black Studies could be a good plot point to bring things together. Plus with my character being an urban planner, the intersection could be interesting due to past planning decisions that were made based on race, especially targeting African Americans. So it is far from some “ethnic girl teaches white girl about race” thing.

I was looking to set this in NYC, though if you’d rather set this in like Chicago, Philadelphia, DC/Baltimore, Boston, or even Toronto, I’d love to do those cities too. I figured there’d be some events not just on campus. And I figured this would be more of a classmates to friends to lovers. I want to let them enjoy a bit of the best friends type situation before inevitably falling for each other, so it’s a bit of a slow burn.

Hey there, DPP workshop! About a month ago, I posted this prompt, asking for feedback. I got five replies from people giving me their feedback, which really helped me improve the prompt.

IMO, the feedback that improved the prompt the most was:

3. The idea that "All stories start from the idea of: Everything was the same as the day before. Except today was different." from u/HoldMyPencil.

Not to say that the other feedback wasn't helpful - I personally felt like that prompt didn't really have any "bad" feedback, all of the replies helped me one way or another!

Now, on to the results - not only did the new prompt get more replies (I didn't really do the math, but if I had to guess, I'd guess about 20-30% more replies compared to the initial prompt), but from these replies, the amount of actually good replies was significantly higher.

So, what I really want to say is thank you! I'm sure this is already clear from this post, but the feedback was REALLY helpful.

I kinda want to get it ready for Halloween this year so here is me trying to zhuzh it up a little. The last post didn't really feel like a prompt, it read more monologuing so I decided to swap the format a little. What I realize looking back on my writing is my tendency to get hooked up in the backstory rather than the present.

The buildings smeared into a blur of glass and concrete as I rushed through the crowd. I had just picked up some chatter on my stolen police radio that the Architect of Death struck again. My heart was beating so fast that I could barely hear the distant man cursing at fore making him drop his taco. I was to far for apologies anyway. I rounded the corner a breathed a sigh of relief as I saw the yellow tape.

I approach the crime scene, taking my journal out to write notes. "So this one was done with a hatchet it seems. The blood splatter patterns are beautiful ... but they seem incomplete." I mutter to myself. It seems that You were rushed or interrupted during this kill. My eyebrows furrow, felling frustration on your behalf. Every single of Your kills are a work of art, anything, or anyone, who gets in the way of that just doesn't understand you like I do. I take photos to finish documenting this crime scene and head to my apartment.

After I finish pinning the latest photo's on my board, I flop down on my bed and admire my handiwork. A large evidence style corkboard. I so desperately want this prompt to work out but it still feels like its missing something. It feels like this is a skeleton of a good prompt but just needs more body, idk. Any advice is helpfully but making less about my char and more about the serial killer would be helpful. Right now I am torn between wanting to give specific details about the killer (their gender, their M.O, Their personality) and keeping it general for others to project themselves onto. I also thought about adding another section written from the killer's POV but see my above point lol.

Mainly looking for critique on how to better communicate these themes and make my post more attractive towards potentially interested readers.

We can also explore some kink, even before their relationship turns into something you would put on your facebook profile. As for our characters I left them mostly up to the imagination, since I think it is highly important that we as the players can both take part in creating the main characters. Some details I made up for my character can be found in the story snippet, but even those can obviously be changed. As for you character I tried to be as vague as possible and write gender neutral, as I am open to both a male or female stalker.

Though some traits obviously cannot be optional, you character obviously needs to be obsessed with mine and morally dubious enough to act on those desires. While my character needs to be weird enough to actually enjoy it to some degree, while still, at least occasionally, staying cautious.

*I haven't created a super detailed character for myself, but I don't think the situation calls for it. Should I add more detail? And where? Personality, body, fashion style, hair?  I've added a lot to indicate my character's head space and feeling about his sister. More criticism about him is welcome. Expanded scene hopefully shows my character's mentality well.

*Did I strike a good balance between implying what will/could happen and leaving room for my partner and improvisation?

*Is the parenthetical (incest) in the title the preferred way to warn/advertise it's presence?  Answered.

*I've deliberately left the sister extremely vague on the understanding that my partner will want that space for her creativity. Right call? Done well?

*Do I do a good job of making my partner/ her character feel wanted and feel “permission” to be into her brother?

*Is my emphasis on smell confusing for some? I get that most people can't smell a woman's genitals from across that house, but describing it too clearly feels vulgar, even by porn standards. However, smell is the most emotionally powerful sense. I guess if somebody thinks I'm talking about the smell of her shampoo, that's not the end of the world.

This was an awkward situation to be in. Steve, my friend from work, invited me to his housewarming party, which was great and everything. But all of my friends from work who also got invited couldn't come, leaving me here, alone in the corner with a cup in my hand. I tried making small talk with some of Steve's friends, but it didn't really work.

It's more of her letting other women have a taste of this formerly awkward, shy guy the "transformed" into a great, confident guy.

So, for this RP, I really wanna do something that's the opposite of an idea I see on here quite often - instead of breaking and turning your new partner into a pet, or breaking their mind, etc, I wanna do the opposite, and make you a better guy. More confident, but not cocky. And then giving other women just a little taste of you, but always knowing that you'll be mine.

This prompt starts with a housewarming party, but this is only one of the ways our characters can meet. It could be at a café, at a club, anywhere you'd like to!

The ideal starting message I'm looking for has:

Alright workshop. Back again today with a bit more since there was some interest in the prior prompt. I think I'm here less with an intention to solicit feedback, but moreso to illustrate a point. The most well written posts don't nessecarily get the most responses (or quality responses, even) and in fact the opposite is often true. This was one of my first posts on DPP (initially made in response to someone else's prompt who I really liked, actually!) and it has a fond place in my heart. I do come back to it occasionally, but I find that it's generally rather difficult to find partners for it, and in a sense the effort required to build it out may have far exceeded the amount of actual playtime I got from it.

My general impression as an RPer has been shaped a lot by how I notice responses to my posts are. My intuition says that many people are moreso looking for vague ideas to get horny about, rather than an already built story which would often take away from creativity and imagination.

It's a very long post, but I thought it would be interesting to discuss our experiences with how well novella-type prompts do in general, and any advice we may have about this one in particular if anything comes to mind. Feel free to skip and get right to discussion, the post again, is mostly to illustrate the point.

Ediaka, Raopani– 1853. Aboard the Spear of Kratos

Waves crashed against the Spear’s cool spikes as the sun crawled to the horizon, her burning face turning away as the ship approached. As she fled, the Spear pursued, strong wooden hulls plowing through the pristine, sparkling waters. The gunboat set a steady pace, scattering the gulls as it tore through the wailing wind. 

Standing there, amid the first rays of dawn, the Spear of Kratos was magnificent. Triple masted, with each flag each fifty feet high, the Spear towered over Ediaki bay. Dozens of galleys long and several formations wide, the ship was a giant, a veteran of a dozen battles. Looming above even the pagodas ashore, it was a palace in the waters, a castle in the sea. 

Before him, the Raoponese fishing boats cowered, slack jawed fishermen pointing and cawing as the gunboat approached, announcing his arrival with the blast of a cannon. A blank shell catapulted through the sky, soaring higher than the birds before exploding in a rain of fire. The sun shirked back, her light dimming as she fled. At bay, the roar of the cannon blast overtook the screams of the fisherwoman. 

“Maouu! Maouu!” 

“Kamikaze!” 

“Shini! Shini! Shinigami!” 

The fisherwomen cried then. Of demons, of death, of divine wrath, and they fled. As they should. This was a conqueror's vessel, after all. 

Aboard the Spear, overlooking the bay, Commodore Alexander smiled. “Look, pet. See the cherry blossoms of your homeland? Soon, they’ll be mine.” As he spoke, his hands ran down the woman’s body, into the wet slit of her arousal. His breath was hot on her neck. “Like you.” 

Under the Commodore’s touch, Yana shivered. She had been a proud woman once, when departing this very bay. Unstoppable, as she set sail with a fleet of hundreds and a crew of thousands more. Onizaki Yanako, first Admiral of the empire, steerer of the Shogun’s ships, mistress of the sea. Those measly white pirates of the Dutchlands would be no trouble to her. Or so she thought. 

It had gone well enough at first. Insolent traders, stowaways, vagrants. Unworthy scum, unfit to clean her boots in Ediaka. She captured them in the dozens, and made them swear to never defile Ameratsu’s land with their unworthy bodies. They submitted then, and if they did not she had their tongues pulled and tossed into the ocean. Such it was, ship after ship, until the Deloians approached with their Spear.

Its sails were black, its teeth were iron, and from it’s forty maws the fires of heaven spewed forth to consume all. Yana could’ve retreated then, with her navy intact. But she was too prideful. Two dozen times she sailed forth, and two dozen times she was repelled, her ships torn apart by cannonfire. By the time the Deloians seized her, tossing her at the feet of their Captain, she was naked in both ways. An Admiral without a navy. Her ships laid in charred ruins beneath the sea, along with her armor and clothes. 

So now here she was, naked save a trimmed kimono favored by the dock whores which entertained her soldiers. The flowered dress was hardly elegant before the Commodore had edits made, afterwards it was slutty beyond belief. The top had been removed, allowing Yana’s full breasts to spill through the fabric, her nipples standing at pert attention. Three separate slits ran down from the midsection, baring her thighs. “Right?” The commodore’s eyes glinted. “I think you may be under a few mistaken impressions, pet.” He bit down softly on her ear, making her shriek. “Right, as the world goes…” He whispered, his hands running down her breasts, her thighs. “-is only a question between equals in power. The strong do what they will. And the weak…” She felt a dull thump as his impossibly large cock hit her cervix. “-suffer as they must.”

Hi DPP! Sorry for the monster post, but yes, I'm very into RP! Here especially, with nationplay. Whew, ok, that was a long post, and most of you probably didn't read it haha. But, I rest my case. This is a post that was much well thought out, built, and written than most of my others, and it does not nessecarily perform better even though I have all the elements of a world, character and plot. Thus my thesis: an RPer is generally better off cultivation topics of lewd ideas than writing out a specific one, it's more efficent and allows for more creativity once you actually find a partner.

Hi DPP! Recently had one of my posts taken down due to moderator decision, and I thought well, as good time as any for a second draft. I managed a rewrite of it, and I thought it may be nice to get some feedback. Some thoughts I was thinking about for terms of feedback. How well did I present what I want? How well did I draw the reader in or conjure up lewd images of fantasy? What's good about it, bad about it, etc et all. I think I'll probably post a few other places other than DPP as well, to get a feel for what reception is like.

And of course, how eagerly do they all strip and drop to their knees when it’s time to greet their male Masters.  

The ideas go on and on. Hierarchical harems where each woman higher up a rank humiliates and degrades her lessers, only to obediently open her legs whenever a superior or her Master arrives. Schools, workplaces, safe spaces, all perverted into sordid dens of politics and backstabbings as women turn on eachother in hungry, desperate messes. Rival states at war. Businesswomen at the boardroom. Slavers and auctioneers smirking at their quarries waiting to be sold. 

The possibilities are endless. But since this is a more fringe prompt, some examples of stuff that make me go *yes*. 

Women ranked with collars by profession. White collar for knowledge work, blue collar for labor, and why not a special pink collar for the more *feminine* type of services? A defeated nation or acquired company, their various leaders reduced to mewling sucksluts catfighting over the favor of their new masters.
