Just wanted to share my custom made Lord of Contagion. Was really fun and happy how it turned out!

I mainly chopped up a Noxious Blightbringer and combined it with bits left over from Deathshrouds/Blightlords and old AoS Maggotkin kits. (The “holding the head on the dead guy” from Maggotkin Blightlords seems to be somewhat popular for LoC conversions!) Head is from the Kill team Malignant plaguecaster.

I think he’s done, other than basing of course. Really enjoyed painting him! Might come back and add more highlights etc when it’s cured. Maybe some more rust on the blade for a bit more contrast.

But for real deathguard names are really cool but I got some questions

1: Are there any deathguard with their og names and were any of the original deathguard names diseased themed (like mortarion meaning child of death)?

2: what are your favorite deathguard names?

Painting 3500 Points of any army at once tends to feel like a slog at some point during the process...
BUT I am very happy how these turned out. Awesome and characterful models.

Also bonus (for a CSM faction): Blightlord Terminators have a lot less "trim" than you would think.

Im new to the hobby and try to learn. Ive bought the kill team starter set and this is the second model Ive painted. Does it read as death guard? Is it detailed enough?

Finally got to take the list for a spin.
Overall, the list felt good. The demon princesses were not as tacky as I thought they would be, but all of my opponents units had full re-rolls to hit and wound most of the time when attacking them along with detachment buffs and would still barely kill them with 10 to 15 models attacking.
I played wrong by having a lone demon prince on the right that got killed by my opponents deep strike Crowe squad- but the deathshroud came down and murdered crow and failed the charge with a reroll into a squad of terminators there too.
I think I got lucky with him failing some 4+s allowing 2 demon princes to kill 2 squads of 4 terminators with shooting+charge and one of them did tank shock too.
Overall I think the list is excellent but the demon princes feel more like supporting units than tanks or hard hitters. You need to double up to kill most things or add tank shock.
I think the defiler would be a great addition over the PM unit- it did tons of work and well exceeded its points but not having shooting to threaten very well is hard.

I just built my Death Guard army and bought a bunch of speedpaints for it. I just recently pivoted to wanting to paint them in the Pallid Hand color scheme with a bony white armor. Is there any way to achieve this through speedpaints? Most of the tutorials I've seen online dont use speedpaints for the Pallid Hand, so if anyone has any examples or input I'd appreciate it. Thanks!

I'm really liking how the colour scheme is coming together and i can finish a mini relatively quickly with the more sketched style.

Only thing I really want to change is the green helmet lens (I do want to keep it green but I'm not sure how to paint it yet) but other feedback is always welcome!

Hey hey guys! Me and my buddy are swapping armies to learn about them and just see how different our armies play! He plays tyranid monster mash, and I have an idea of what he will bring. But I am worried about what I should bring so he doesn't get overwhelmed. I am thinking bring mortarion in but I really could make any list besides tallying summoners. I only have two great unclean ones.

Any thoughts on a decent direction for someone who never played deathguard only against?

I've played a total of two games against the local drukari player at both 1k and 500 points in an escalation League and a casual game but both times I've basically got tabled turn one or put in an impossible to come back from situation. I know this game isn't balanced from a low point count perspective but I wanted y'alls pov. Is it just an Unfun or super bad matchup or am I just salty af for no reason.

I'm seeking advice on how to best paint the smoke from what look like giant incense burners. Anyone got a cool recipe that isn't green? I'm looking for something to contrast the green armour a bit once I grime the dudes down.

I am trying to get to my first 2k list and have a rough outline of what I want to do. The only question I have is which combination of units is better to lead a squad of plaguemarines?

My first Idea was a Lord of Poxes + Plague Surgeon
or a Biologus Putrifier + Plague Surgeon

I cannot decide on which effects I like more. Any help will be greatly appreciatet and thanks in advance
