I’m running Brave with Shields set to aggressive, all built-in content filters enabled, block scripts turned on, and even added 154 custom filter rules. Despite all this, it still detected my adblocker and prevented me from downloading a file.

I was confident my setup would bypass it, but no luck. This is exactly why I can't wait for uBlock Origin support on Brave Android.

Since buying a new phone (Pixel) YouTube hasn't been displaying properly. It's pushed to the right when displaying full screen, even being cut off with some videos. Never had the issue with my previous phone. So not sure what the issue is

I know uBlock Origin runs seamlessly on Brave Desktop for Windows, but I rely heavily on custom filters and granular controls when browsing on mobile too.

While Brave Shields handles standard ad blocking well on mobile, are there any updates or a roadmap for bringing uBlock Origin or extension support to Brave Android?

I do not prefer firefox with unlock , because it's slow for rendering websites compared to brave .

So I’m looking for a free adblocker that I can use maybe with brave or google that’ll work so I can watch tv shows and movies with pop up ads taking me to different websites. Would anyone be able to recommend a good adblocker, I use ublock origin on my MacBook but the iPad version is practically useless

Every now and then, my brave browser starts hammering the CPU and uses over 4Gb ram, even when it’s just sitting idle. I don’t know, it makes me wonder if there’s some crypto mining going on in the background, especially with all the crypto wallets and other bits and bobs that come bundled with it.

If that turns out to be the case, I’m thinking of switching to Vivaldi. It’s Chromium-based too, so it might be a good alternative.

I've been using Brave as my YouTube player on desktop for about two years. Since then, I haven't seen any ads on desktop.

I always watch my stats grow:

• 192,081 trackers & ads blocked
• 1.61 GB of bandwidth saved
• 2.7 hours of time saved

Do you also use Brave for YouTube, and do you have stats enabled?

Which one should I rely on for adblocking and privacy protection? Or do I enable both (i.e., Adguard assistant plus Shields)? What about power efficiency? And if I remove Brave from "automatically filer applications" in Adguard settings, does that remove Brave from the DNS protections too?

Something changed in the way autoplay blocking works recently. It used to only stop videos from starting automatically when a page loaded. Over the last week or so, it has also stopped videos from playing when I click the start button myself. The only way I can get anything to play is to turn autoplay on.

Is anyone else seeing this? And does anyone know of a combination of settings that restores the old behavior, where blocking only applies to automatic playback?

Chrome themes are kind of restrictive so there's a weird effect when using horizontal tabs, you may like it tough

EDIT: The one thing I didnt try "Turning it on and off again" fixed the search loader taking me to this page, but the image searcher is still broken and doesn't let me to page websites while in that search function

I'm on my phone. Galaxy S23Ultra. I have checked the Java script on and off (was defaulted off). Tried closing the browser. Tried force stopping. Uninstaller, re-installed. For about 2 weeks I have not been able to click/press on images in the image search. I COULD long press and get options. Now I was looking up dogs as a reference image and now Brave search in ALL functions (all/news/image/etc) give me this, enable Java page.

I've used brave for 5+ years now and ive never had YT ads on brave but last night i started getting YT ads that are unskipable and all the ads and made by YT referencing YT premium its not like they're random companies. Does anyone have the same issue or does anyone know a solution?

I have multiple tabs on my phones brave browser.

However lately when I'm on reddit I open a sub which opens a new tab.

I read it and use back button on phone to close and leave. Before the original reddit tab would reopen. But now it always goes to another tab that wasn't the original reddit tab that is still open. It's annoying to open the tab menu to reopen reddit.com tab which is still open.

Any fix for this?

we moved the whole house to Brave about a year ago. kids use the shared desktop for school and streaming, and my work laptop handles tickets and remote sessions. shields stay on strict for everything except a couple homework sites I whitelist manually. sync keeps bookmarks and passwords straight, but sometimes one machine ends up with an extra extension the others don't have. curious if people just resync or if there's a better way to keep them identical without checking every few days

So the video will play but not show the title, the content creator, the comments, or other videos. It's been about a month of this. What the fuck, Brave? your update today didn't fix it.
