Not much else to report. Seeing Garland on PP1 is not ideal, imo.

Blue line says premium and above all come with this patch and I don’t like the way it looks 😞

The Randomizer has spoken. Today’s selection is Mike Blunden.
Mike Blunden was a frequent flyer from the AHL, earning call ups from the 2006-2007 to the 2017-2018 seasons. Everywhere he went he brought his fists and his gorgeous hockey smile. The Blue Jackets acquired him from Chicago in January 2009 for Adam Pineault. Blunden would play 41 games and rack up 59 penalty minutes for the Jackets across 2 seasons. He was traded to Montreal in 2011 for Ryan Russell.

This took me far too long to make with time I don't have to give. Probably two days late, but here's to happy memes soon!

The season has fallen into an unfortunate rhythm; this is the third straight week in which the Blue Jackets have had a lengthy break between games after suffering a debilitating loss. Time to practice, sure, but also time to wallow in the disappointment.
On Wednesday, coach Rick Bowness made it clear that the patience he’s shown with players to figure it out is wearing thin.
He’s planning to change not only his forward lines, which have been completely ineffective on both ends of the ice, but the personnel on the power play, which is a perennial weakness in Columbus.
And as he and his coaching staff watched film of Tuesday’s galling 6-2 loss to Toronto — the mindless turnovers at the blue line, the penalties, the aimless passes into traffic, etc. — Bowness reached another conclusion.
“If it continues, people are going to start losing ice time,” Bowness said. “Am I going to have to bench some guys if they keep taking these penalties? I’m gonna have to bench them. They’re bringing that on themselves. I’m out of patience with it. So, yeah, if you want to keep saying ‘I can place that play,’ and then not make it, and we end up playing a three-quarter ice game, you can expect to lose some ice time.”

Anyone notice Jody is off the Inside Edge & it’s Dylan and Steve? Jody did the first ep this season and then they announced Steve would be taking his spot.
Miss Bob and Jody. Glad we have Clear Breakway.

There is plenty of blame to go around for how this season has started, and plenty of people who need to be held accountable. But the one man who constantly escapes the spotlight in my opinion is John P. McConnell and his ownership group.
At this point, after a quarter-century of complete mediocrity, the only real solution is new ownership. Coaches, GMs, constant rebuilds, none of it has worked. In 25 seasons, this franchise has managed one playoff series victory, gone to the playoffs just 6 times, and gone through more than a dozen head coaches. They’ve never even sniffed a conference final, let alone a Stanley Cup.
There is something fundamentally broken in the building, and like any broken organization it starts at the absolute top. The McConnell family simply does not know how to run a competitive major sports franchise. We can pray for a miracle, but I’m convinced that a Sell the Team movement from the fans is the only wake-up call left.
Curious for everyone's thoughts

The Randomizer has spoken. Today’s selection is Todd Rohloff.
Signing with the Blue Jackets just before the start of the 2003-2004 season, Todd Rohloff would play 24 games for Columbus. The Washington Capitals, his previous team, claimed him off waivers in January of 2004. In the 1990’s he played college hockey for Miami University, as well as one year with the Cleveland Lumberjacks in 1999-2000.

I’ve noticed something, going back to at least game 2.
This team is mad after every loss, and not satisfied after every win.
This is a far cry from what it used to be, especially in the last few seasons. Usually after getting man handled the way they did last night, the team and players would be very care free, they’d just say “you know, we gotta play better” and then just leave it at that. These players are not doing that, coyle and fantilli have been super frustrated with how they play, they understand it’s fixable (it is) and they see the work getting put in at practice. They are starting to hate to lose, but it all means nothing if they don’t start to win.

I genuinely think we will turn it around. Truly. I may be delusional.
The silver linings I see: Everyone is pissed. Coyle nearly lost it in the post-game last night. Bones said he will be changing lines/PP units, as he said: "it isn't working". Good. We need change if we want any sort of success at this point. Everyone talked about the players not hating to lose, well last night I saw that in the post-game.
I am just trying to find some hope. The season is *not* over 8 games in. Every team has bad stretches. Our schedule has been brutal, we're down 2 defenseman, we have 2 new players in the top lines learning new systems, our #1 c missed all of training camp and is learning a new line-mate., etc. etc.
I am going to take a deep breath, and wait to re-evaluate after 20 games.

Hey All, hope this is in the right spot. Ive always have ordered the special Columbus Blue Jacket tshirts every year. This year I ordered the I want my CBJ shirt and wow, it's more like a xl or 2xl instead a large.
Ive reached out to Blueline to see if I can exchange, but did anyone else have the same issue?
The shirt didn't have a tag in it and the shirt honestly doesn't have the great soft tshirt feeling. I get mass produced and cheap quality. But this is pretty sad.
Anyone else?

So 97.1 posted a video on YouTube about Rick Nash opening up to his trade request.
Thought it apropos to the Werenski situation.
This team has got to win now so we don’t drive another franchise player to leave. Rick Mentions how he wanted to play his career in Columbus, but the lack of playoff chances and then a rebuild looming made him ready to move on and try and win elsewhere.
The conversation starts around 4:50.
Regardless, Rick Nash did everything he could to try and make it work in Columbus and get Columbus the best deal, and for the most part, New York did send back what the jackets wanted, regardless if they messed it up.

the more we lose, the more I wish we’d pull the trigger and trade Z, honestly. anyone else with me? and it’s not just losing either… these games are so uncompetitive.

The Randomizer has spoken. Today’s selection is Joakim Lindstrom.
A 2nd round pick by Columbus in 2002, Joakim Lindstrom arrived in North America from Sweden at the end of the 2004-2005 AHL season. He would play 37 games with the Blue Jackets from 2005-2006 to the 2007-2008 season before being traded to Anaheim for a conditional pick. Lindstrom would later player for the KHL, back to Sweden, back to the NHL, back to Sweden again, back to the NHL, back to the KHL once more and then back to Sweden permanently until he finished playing in 2022-2023.

I’ll have you all know I pieced together and traced that logo myself and it took an ungodly amount of time. So if you think it’s ugly just be glad it’s not ai.
Edit: just noticed I made Ollie really short. He can have his height back when he earns it.
