Hey y’all!
If you’re new here or looking for info, this is the place to stop and check before you post that question you’re thinking about asking - the answer may already be in our FAQ! There's also some recommendations in there for learning about lore.
I’d recommend also checking the New Player Question or Question flairs to see if your question has been asked before. You can also type into whatever search engine you use:
[insert your question here] baldursgate3 reddit
Or
[insert your question here] bg3 reddit
That’ll help us prevent the subreddit from being cluttered with the same repeated questions.
If your question hasn't been asked (or asked recently enough) then use either one of the question flairs above and ask away.
BG3Builds and Multiclassing
For the people curious about builds or who want a more dedicated place to discuss them, there's r/BG3Builds. There's a good guide on multiclassing.
Community Wiki
Confused about what the different rolls mean or just want to find notable NPCs and loot in a location? Check out the Community Wiki. It's ad free and being worked on by people here in the community :)
Everyone working on this is doing a great job trying to prepare it for launch and beyond.
If you'd like to help contribute to the wiki, here is the Discord.

Character Planner Reminder: There is a Character Planner by GameFractal being worked on here (It's also in the sidebar on desktop or the 'See Community info' link on mobile).
It's a one person project, so updating it with the recent updates, adding what launch will bring, and some other useful features will take time - but it will be updated.
There is a feedback button on that site, please use it if you have any suggestions/constructive feedback. Feedback is very appreciated!

When I first started, I would frequently be scratching my head as to why my character was encumbered until I would realize that my alchemy pouch and supply pack were crammed full. Then, I would open them up, highlight everything, and right click "send to camp". After getting tired of repeating this process over and over, my first "Aha!" moment was realizing that I could circumvent that cycle by highlighting the items right in the container that I found them in and send them to camp there.
Of course, my camp stash became a nearly unusable hot mess. My solution was to put and unused character's alchemy pouch and supply pack in the camp stash. Unfortunately, they don't hoover up items as you send them to camp like they do in your inventory. So, every morning, after buffs, I would slog through "highlight and drag" sorting. It sucked.
This brings me my most important time saving discovery: As you put one of those specialized bags in a container, it schlorps up all the items in their category! Now, my routine is just pulling the bags out and putting them back in! Boom.
It works in personal inventories, as well. If you somehow let your inventories go wild, just pass the bags around. :-) Now, if only their were bags for potions, arrows, and spell scrolls...

Alfira is the obvious choice, but let's exclude her to get some more varied answers. Personally, I'd probably pick Corsair Greymon or Sazza (if we can add goblins) to give us a second evil aligned character and some short race representation.

Did you know that if you're solo with a cat familiar summoned when you chase a chicken, then the goblin will give your winnings to the cat? The cat who's inventory can't be accessed without exploits? I wonder what it's going to buy with all that dosh, and who from.
Edit: Someone killed the cat and the money dropped. Thought I'd mention it in case anyone else runs into this issue.

this isnt that significant im just kinda losing it
keep in mind that im a champion fighter and i have the knife of the undermountain king, but still. I just crit twice in a row, at disadvantage. both 19s. the odds of that are 0.01% (i think)
there was also a third 19 at disadvantage later on in the fight but it wasnt subsequent so it doesnt matter

It's not bad, just weird. I'm doing my first tactician run, and for most of Act 1 I felt very underleveled. I had to go into the Ethel fight at level 4. But now, i'm in Act 1.5 at the creche, and i'm level 7 before I was even done with half the place.

Summary: if you love BG3 and are hungry for ANY new content, you’ll have a nice time. If you expect that content to be the caliber of the original game, you’ll be let down.
For those unaware, a mod was recently released that adds an entire region between acts 2 and 3, to fill in the gap between pursuing the Absolute’s army when they leave the camp west of Reithwin, to arriving at Rivington. The mod offers shortcuts directly to this content, but we opted to play acts 1 and 2 fully for the gear and quests we wanted. Story wise, the mod assumes you lifted the shadow curse, and explores how the land recovers.
If you compare directly to the base game, this content is quite bland. The map is very linear, kind of a “wide hallway”, where you mainly travel in one direction but could easily miss some stuff. The map aesthetic is kind of one-note, just a sepia tone wilderness, barely any difference between areas. NPC writing is extremely bland, and quests and special triggers are extremely basic.
What you mainly get are an assortment of tough combat encounters, and some cool loot. My partner and I are playing on tactician, with robust builds, and had no problem with any of act 1 & 2’s fights, but a couple of these fights whooped our butts and made us flee. I noted a couple unique creatures, but most are existing creatures from the base game. You’ll find custom magical items that are fun additions to many popular builds, like the Breaker, a Returning Pike-esque spear with a Thunderwave-like ability, perfect for my Throwserker, plus a helmet that grants an additional bonus action on kill (very buggy).
I mentioned the bad, now for the impressive. I have no idea how they made this map. The design isn’t bad, it features lots of cliffs and verticality. There’s a couple “mini dungeons”. Everywhere you look, details are fleshed out. NPC dialogs aren’t voiced, but they are animated. We spent several hours going through the region, and when we thought the act was done, we entered an entirely NEW region representing a battlefield, where we called it for the night. I have no idea how expansive this second region is yet (or if there’s even more regions).
Is it buggy? Honestly, not much more than the base game already is :P
It’s impressive what’s here. I’m excited by what this means for the future and the potential mod campaigns that may come.
Edit: Finished the mod. The second region is a series of battles, as you catch up to the army of the absolute. It finishes in the very camp where the githyanki ambush you and you travel into the artifact. It’s rather remarkable how smoothly it picks up into the beginning of act 3, it’s as if this was the intended plot line all along.
Overall verdict: As a “definitive experience”, I would say no, this mod does not deliver on the same caliber as the base game, in fact it’s exemplary why some things get cut on the final product. But if you have already played through the game, and want something new to experience, especially if you are a combat and/or build enjoyer, this mod delivers a satisfactory enough experience.

Sussur blooms almost always wilt outside of the camp chest or a locked chest via click and drag, (unavailable on console) but I have discovered a way to preserve them temporarily for those of us on console. I don't see anyone else really talking about this either and it's not on the wiki.
If you plant them on a summon (I have confirmed it works with Scratch and Shovel) they don't wither. With Shovel you can literally have an invisible out of combat walking magic dampener, which I wish I had discovered before getting my golden dice lol. Works only as long as you have access to the underdark and are willing to either lose them on long rest or pickpocket them back off the summon at the end of the night.

Githyanki I find have really interesting Biology honestly, they are an egg laying species but have bellybuttons or how only particular Githyanki may produce eggs at a time but still all have sexual reproductive organs and can perform sexual acts without fear of Pregnancy occurring. But these weird prickly barbs on their ears I find most interesting because I am unsure what they are actually for.
I want to say something like a sensory organ that has developed so they can hear or sense their surroundings better, maybe something that works in Space? Could be a design choice but all creatures in BG3 and the D&D Universe are rooted in Biology so it must mean something.

Okey, I just need to kill the Netheresa stone of Oran, I have to find the red-hooded dwarf, however, he has already carried out his murders and I can't find him anywhere.
