Hello :) getting married next year in September, and I’m currently trying to send out Save the Date magnets! They’re 3x5’, came with their own envelopes; My question is how do I know what stamps to pick? I was going to get an envelope weighed so I can get an idea of what I’m supposed to get, but since it’s Columbus Day the office is closed :/ does anyone have an general idea of what type of stamp I’m supposed to get?
For example, the stamp on the left says “forever 82c” and the one on the right says “additional postage 4c”. My educated guess is the right stamp is an “extra” for heavier envelopes? Haven’t done this before so kinda confused, any help is GREATLY appreciated!! Thank you!!!

what personal wedding details did you actually keep track of for yourself? Not vendors, budgets, guest lists, or general wedding planning, I mean the little things that were specifically about you and what you wanted for your wedding And was there anything you wish you had written down or organized beforehand?

I already have a wedding product that a few couples have used for their weddings, and I’m trying to understand something from people who are actually planning one.

What’s the one thing you found surprisingly annoying about dealing with your wedding guests?

For example, something around sharing photos, collecting memories, keeping everyone updated, or just getting everyone to actually participate 😅

I’ve built something specifically around this problem, and I’m curious whether other couples see the same problem or if my customers are just weird 😂

Planning a fairly involved wedding and our planner keeps pulling from the same trusted group. Photographer, video, floral, production, etc. They are good, but a couple quotes are higher than equally impressive people we found on our own.

She says the value is that everyone already knows how the others work and nobody has to figure out roles on the fly. I believe that in theory. I am just trying to decide how many thousands of dollars I believe it lol.

For bigger weddings with a lot of moving pieces, did vendor team matching actually show up in the day of experience?

Looking in Manhattan and Brooklyn and I knew NYC would be expensive. I did not know food and beverage minimum alone could apparently be an entire respectable wedding budget somewhere else.

We are not trying to do ultra luxury. We have what I thought was a solid budget, around 100 guests, and every spreadsheet is laughing at me.

couples who pulled off a venue on a normal human budget, what actually moved the number? Friday? winter? restaurants? outer boroughs? fewer people?? give me hope lol.

Venue website said starting at 8k. Our actual quote for the date and guest count came back at 19k. I knew starting at was not going to be the final number but ELEVEN THOUSAND more feels like performance art.

Some of it is obvious once listed out: food minimum, service charge, rentals. Then there are ceremony fees and staffing and little venue charges that seem to multiply when I look away. What belongs in a realistic wedding venue cost breakdown before I compare places? I need a better baseline than whatever the homepage says.

Outdoor ceremony is the main reason we like this venue and it actually fits our under 10k budget. They keep saying there is a great indoor backup if it rains.

Only problem: on the tour they did not show us the backup room. Coordinator said it was being used and kind of moved on. Maybe totally innocent but now my brain has turned it into a basement with fluorescent lights.

How hard would you push to see the rain setup before signing? Anyone get surprised by the backup space later?

So I am a manager for a coming soon wedding venue and both the owners and I are new to the wedding field. How many client forms do you need to start up? And which forms are a must have to get started? Only form I have is an event inquiry form…

We found a venue we really love but the deposit is several thousand dollars and the word NONREFUNDABLE is doing a lot of psychological damage rn. Haven't signed. I keep finding stories about venues closing, changing owners, moving dates, all the nightmare scenarios you should probably not read at midnight before paying a deposit...Can you actually negotiate protections into the contract for that money or is a big deposit just one of those wedding risks you accept? The idea came from something I’ve experienced at almost every wedding, birthday or gathering: everyone takes photos, but they end up scattered across different phones, WhatsApp groups and social media accounts. Most of them never make it back to the host.
With Eventcapsule, the host creates a capsule and shares a link or QR code. Guests can then upload the photos they take to one shared space, without needing to download an app.

Hello! I am a 2027 bride getting married in the Hudson Valley. I am really excited about this journey however the lack of visibility on female brides of color has been incredibly eye opening. There a lot of amazing designers, wedding planners, and vendors out there but its incredible disheartening looking at the lack of diversity across their portfolios. In my search for a wedding planner, i found myself on a platform which acts as a marketplace for vendors. As part of the sign up, you choose images that best fit your vibe and NOT ONE of the options had women or men of color and I think that's absolutely tone deaf and absurd in 2026. So I guess 2 things - if you are a vendor and you're reading this, I think you should take a second to think about why visibility for all people is important because that could be the reason you dont get the job. Lastly if there are any recommendations for planners, caterers, or any vendors with diverse portfolios, please send them my way!

How did you guys manage to plan your France wedding on a normal budget? Where do you even find reliable suppliers over there who don't charge "tourist prices"?

After searching through a bunch of forums, I stumbled across a company called Fête24. They’re an English-speaking team based over there that does all the tech/equipment hire (tents, sound, lights, DJ packages).

Their prices actually look pretty fair compared to the crazy quotes I got before, and they seem to have good reviews. But I'm always skeptical with stuff I find online has anyone here actually used them for their wedding? Are they legit and good to work with, or is there a catch?

I’m helping plan a bridal shower for my best friend. She’s quite traditional, and her mum cares a lot about these kinds of things. Most of the guests are in their 30s, but some are 60+ and live in different cities, so paper invites are a lot of work and money. Is it normal to send digital invites for a bridal shower now, or do people still expect paper? If you went with digital, did anyone have an issue with it? Or how can I create invites that look nice enough for more traditional guests?
