It's fair to expect people in northern climates to use real fur
If there's anyone who's actually lived in a extreme Northern climate I'm sure you get what I'm talking about. The problem with synthetic alternatives to fur coats is that they make you sweat. And then that sweat makes you freeze. The only alternative is to use layers of real wool underneath a synthetic coat. But real wool is itchy as hell. And even if you do all that it still doesn't work as well as a fur coat. It sucks for all the rabbits out there but nature really did create the perfect substance for surviving the winter.
Then there's the aspect of indigenous culture in Canada. Sustainable and monitored fur trapping has been part of their culture for thousands of years. It's a bit of a messed up colonizer mindset to tell them they have to change. Personally I think it's fine as long as you're not using animals that are endangered in some way like wolves. And as far as fur farming goes I think it's okay as long as you can buy from a ethical farmer that treats their animals well. Micro Plastics really are choking the life out of this planet it's kind of the Lesser evil to purchase from a fur Farm. What do you guys think?
