To everyone riding a unicyle
We are doing a school project where we have to make an app for a niche sport and we chose unicycling.
What would you like to see in an app like this if it were a real app?

Hello!!!
I am really interested in buying a 32" or 36" unicycle second hand, so far i Know the chat of Suche tausche Verkaufen from the Unicyclist forum to look for offers but I cant see no more places. Would you recommend any websites where people may sell their second hand unis? I could go and buy them in person in Germany or Spain as my work is travel intensive, otherwise online :)
Thanks for your help!

I have almost the same unicycle as the one in the picture. When I bought it, I didn't even know that there were rounded frames and frames with corners. I struggle a lot with keeping my foot on it when doing one-foot pedaling or a one-foot surplace. Should I try grip tape, or does anyone have advice on how to fix this problem? Thanks in advance and any advice is welcome!

After about a year of owning a 24 uni, I finally got the balls to commit to fulloutspin on a 24" it wasn't too hard after all, just scary

I refurbished a second-hand unicycle, lubricated the chain, and gave it a bit of a cleanup.
This has given the unicycle a second life.
The first rides are promising.
The unicycle is sure to bring us a lot of fun.

I’m able to comfortably ride around on flat ground and up hill (still working on downhill) and have decided to try to take on free mounting so I can hope cut out the time it takes me to walk back to my starting spot. I’m really struggling with not putting pressure on my dominant foots pedal while trying to mount from the 3 to 6 position. I’m also just in general having trouble with sending my weight from my grounded foot to my seat. Also I’ve tried the rollback mount but I always over shoot the pedal so I thought 3 to 6 might be more difficult but more applicable while out and about. Sorry for the essay, any tips no matter how small would be great.
EDIT: I figured it out thanks for the help

Not a huge milestone in the grand scheme of things but I've been stuck on this for way too long so I need to share it somewhere people will actually get it.
Started riding back in May, mostly just trying to get comfortable going in a straight line without grabbing a fence every ten feet. Free mounting took me about six weeks to feel natural, and once that clicked I got kind of cocky and assumed idling would come just as fast. It did not. I spent probably three months rocking back and forth like a broken metronome, always leaning too far one way and bailing before I could even get a second rock going.
What finally helped was slowing everything down way more than felt right. I kept trying to idle at a pace that felt "normal" and my brain just couldn't process the balance corrections fast enough. Once I forced myself to go almost comically slow, barely rocking the pedals at all, something clicked and I could suddenly feel where my weight needed to be over the seat. Did it against a wall for support at first, then tried it freestanding in my driveway yesterday and got about eight rocks before I put a foot down. Tried again this morning before work and got fifteen.
My commute is only about a mile and a half so I don't get a ton of practice time riding to places, most of my skill work happens in a church parking lot near my house on weekend mornings when nobody's around to watch me fall. Curious if anyone else found that slowing way down was the trick for idling, or if there's another cue that worked better for you. Also open to hearing what skill to chase next once idling feels more solid, I keep hearing hopping is a natural next step but it looks terrifying from where I'm standing.

I really enjoy going for longer distance rides. My most common ride is about 12 miles. However after about 5 miles my butt and ground really starts hurting and feeling numb.
I'm currenty using a Kris Holm saddle and padded bicycling shorts.
So I'm looking for recommendations for a better saddle or some other way of improving comfort.
I'm often juggling while riding, so can't use handle bars unfortunately.

Loving this new uni, 8 miles this morning before the Nor’easter hits NY

Any tips or iterative skill/steps to get to a deliberate step back off the uni dismount? I dismount forward and I do so intentionally the majority of the time but it is “aggressive” and a bit harsh on my knees. I’d love to do a nice slow backwards dismount with minimal impact but I always just jump off the front with the foot at the top of the stroke and grab the back of the saddle.

Hey all!
I've been training idiling on a giraffe and my next goal is to add 3 clubs.
I can idle fairly comfortably whilst talking for a good 3+ minutes but its not "quiet" idiling and I'm still twisting my hips and using my arms a bit too much for balance.
I've been doing some drills such as trying to idle with hands: in front (zombie), on my head, on my hips, in front of my chest in a prayer position and limp by my sides. I can do it for short bursts before losing balance and having to correct with my arms/hips.
I think I'm improving but I feel like I'm sort of stuck and don't want to add the clubs (and frustration) until I can idle super comfortably without my arms or too much twisting/drifting.
Is it just a case of stick at it.... time etc. Etc. Or does anyone have any practical tips to calm it down?
I've simultaneously been trying to add the clubs on my standard uni (because i can reset much easier!) but I idle better on the giraffe! Don't know if this bit of info makes a difference!
Thanks! 😊

What are the use cases of 75mm cranks i have a 20" unicycle and was thinking about ways to get the speed up on it would this be very efficient or would I lose all my torque?

First ride with my new uni, it's been a long time since the last one. It feels good to get back in the saddle ! Especially after a lot of time building it

I just landed my first 180 unispin and realised I should probably get some protection. What do other street unicyclist wear for shin gaurds?
Edit: I was looking at the fuse alpha ones

first, a 20” torker
then a 29” Nimbus.
love bikes! Love unicycles!
then a friend had me try a one wheel.
then, inmotion had a sale for $300 for a refurbished V8S (20mph for ~20 mi).
now, all I can think about is electric unicycles. I am scrimping and saving for more speed!
Though thoroughly addicted, I don’t think they are the be-all-end-all. I love the idea of no battery.
Still, the nimbus (and my 93‘ rockhopper) collect dust.
anyone else here have an EUC? what happens to your Uni?

I started really pushing myself this year to see how far I can go. I'm down 60lbs since I started committing and just over a week ago I hit a pretty proud milestone of a ride!
If there's anyone else in the PNW, hit me up! I'd love to go for a ride!
