This was $209 from Guitar Center. Has a more interesting wood grain than most of these. Many ukes that are "koa" are actually acacia, this is genuine Hawaiian grown koa.

Hello, the only clue I have for this version is that he says he uses mandolin/viola tuning. Could someone more knowledgeable take a look and tell me how to learn this?

Made an attempt at painting a ukulele in manga art style. Turned out pretty neat!

is it ok to use a very cheap kids ukulele to try out the hobbie? i can't afford to spend $40 on something that i don't know whether I'll actually enjoy so i was thinking of just getting one from the dollar store or amazon thats under $10 to try out for a few weeks before getting a real one.

Super fun and easy song tutorial where I show how using an “anchor” can make it easier to play songs that are fast moving. 😀🎶💜👻

This lovely piece of instrument came in today. So far I'm enjoying my new Batking solid body bass uke. Aside from playing uke, one of my first instruments I learned and owned was a full size bass guitar (I still have) so I've got that skill set under my belt. Digging the short scale length, actually less stretching.
Surprised intonation and other setup was good out of the box especially coming from an Amazon warehouse. Sounds good too, punchy! And yes I think my cat likes it :D

Hello! The ukulele I recently bought just arrived, except I tried to tune it and found that the strings were vibrating even when I just plucked them, without pressing on any strings or attempting any cords, because they rub against the saddle under the hole. Any fixes? I've seen one that suggests placing something beneath the upper saddle to raise the strings, though I think that saddle might be glued on.

It's been a long time since I posted here asking if it's "worth" buying one. Then there were too many hindrances coming my way. And at a point I just gave up. I thought it was just not for me.
Andddd guesss whaatttt!!
My best friend gifted me one for my birthday!!!
It's been like almost a week, and I can already play a few small songs. Im not leaving this baby alone 😭 (I have my uni exams coming up and I haven't studied shit but God help me I can't have enough with this lil guy) it's just sooo prettyyy and sounds soo beautifull 🫠
Also suggest some good tutorials, channels, and other sources to learn!!
Im so excited 😃😃😃

I picked up a Kala SMHT. It’s got D’Addario titanium strings with high G. Got to say I really don’t like the strings. No projection and very stiff/thick. I also think the action is high, compounding the stiff feel. I’m thinking about swapping out with Worth Brown low G. Anyone do that with this uke? Also, does anyone know whether I’m going to need to widen the slot? I’m thinking of taking a stab at sanding down to improve the action but not sure I’m comfortable widening the slot. If I do need to widen, is it all that complicated? Tips? Luthier not really an option where I live and I really want to play.

I’m looking for a tab to the song, “Precious Little Baby Boy.” Never mind what Google AI says, it is a real, published song.

I can currently play C, Am, and F chords. What kind of learning path should I follow?

It’s the top line I’m struggling with. My teacher showed me a while back but I forgot. I kind of wish someone could send me video on how to do it. It’s Leave (Get Out) by JoJo.
Is there a video or a song with something similar so
I can visually see it. I’m still learning how to read it and actually play.

Are there any sites/Apps for working out chords from sung melodies? I have a rubbish ear and have previously leaned on band mates to work out the chords to my songs. Surely in this day and age there must be a robot that can do it for me.

Been trying to figure it out, but I don’t feel like I’m getting it
I was wondering if anyone could help me understand transposition.

I was playing drunken sailor like the above in the key of Dm. For the top line you can hold the Dm and C chord shapes to do it. I then wanted to play along with a guitar and a recording. The recording is in the key of Em. So uses Em and D.
I understand to transpose to that key just basically add two to each tab number.
I then realised that If I use the Em and D chords and the same pattern as the tab above, it basically adds 2 to the top line at least, the bottom line is a little different anyway.
Is it a happy accident that the Em and D chords sort of "add 2" for you?
Because some recordings are also in the key of Am. Is there a way of doing this with normal Am and G chord shapes and how would I go about that? Because I think I have to add 7 to the tab numbers to keep the same pattern and play in the key of Am.
I am basically asking is there a way of playing it in Am without going so high up the fret board and how do I learn how to do that or understand it?
Thanks :)

it was literally in a plastic storage bin in the case under two other heavy boxes. she plays instruments too so she knows how to properly store instruments; not in a box under TWO HEAVY BOXES.
sorry i just needed to rant
