Drivers are rude as f***

I dont get it, im the restaurant pov.

Every single driver just puts their phone in my face (about 6 feet away with how our togo area is set up..) and cant even bother to try and say the name to me.

Ive stopped acknowledging the rude ones at this point, your working your own job im not gonna teach you how to talk to another human.

Had one say i havent helped them since they got there 20 minutes earlier, while her order was sitting in the window facing her (an actual window, the tickets with the names are on the bag and they cant grab them i have to hand them to them) and id been standing there the whole time. You dont get to demand anyones time its weird and rude, use your words

USA Never Ordering From Uber Again

Post image
• Upvotes

The image speaks for itself. But there was a time where your order would be incorrect, or an item would be missing or it would be delivered to the wrong spot and Uber would just refund you instantly. Unless you tried doing that too much. At the very least you were able to remove the tip. Now? This is ridiculous. I talked to three different Uber live agents and they all said the same thing. "It shows that it was delivered to the right location so there's nothing we can do. We'll put you in touch with someone else and they will get back to you in 6-12 hours." Yeah, no.

Even if I did manage to get my food I still wouldn't be ordering from Uber again. Any courier can literally drop the food, take a picture, then steal the food and Uber won't do a damn thing about it. You can't even take away their tip. All you can do is give them a thumbs down. I mean literally ZERO customer support help in ANY way. Never again.

Can anyone give a logical explanation for why Uber thinks this will be good for them? Other than "people abused the system." Because that's BS. People get free sh*t from chickfila for messed up orders daily and they haven't changed anything about how they do business.

holding my food hostage??

do drivers see the tip before/after they accept an order? I had put 0 tip but in the notes I put *CASH TIP* do they not see the note??

my food had been "on the way" for almost an hour. every time I spoke with CS, they couldn't do anything but say you're driver is on the way. there was no little car icon or anything. the delivery estimate kept getting pushed back more and more. I tried contacting the delivery guy. it wasn't until after I said "if it's about the tip, I was gonna do cash..." did things start moving!

is it common for these delivery people to hold food hostage?? like what do they gain out of it??

Uber driver took our cat

• Upvotes

Our little barn cat jumped in his car and he drove off with her. We finally got his phone number from Uber (after 4 hours of transfers to a "Special Circumstances Representative" and dropped calls. We started texting him- assuring him we do not blame him, we just want to know where to go look for her. Ater 12 hours, I got a reply from him- "No." he said. So I asked what he meant. He said he didn't speak English and I had to text him in French. (One wonders how he's picking up orders and delivering them if he can't speak English and can't use google translate.) So I did. Finally he said he heard a noise in his car, drove 80 meters down the road, rolled his window down- and I guess she jumped out- in front of our neighbor's house.

So, anyone here have ideas of how we can force Uber or this driver to cooperate?

Why restaurants charge more on Uber Eats — the maths surprised me as a café owner

I run a small café, and I want to explain something that’s easy to miss when comparing delivery prices with in-store prices.
Adding 30% to your price does NOT cover a 30% commission.
Using a simple example where the platform takes 30%:
● In-store price: $10
● Add 30%: customer pays $13
● Platform takes 30% of $13: $3.90
● Restaurant receives: $9.10
You’ve increased the customer’s price by $3, but you’re still receiving less than the original $10.
To receive $10 after that deduction, you have to charge $14.29 — a 42.9% increase.
The formula is: $10 ÷ 0.70 = $14.29.
And that $10 coming back isn’t profit. Ingredients, wages, rent, electricity and packaging still need to be covered. Any restaurant-funded promotions or advertising costs also need to be accounted for.
Actual fees depend on the restaurant’s agreement. This example isolates a 30% commission so the maths is clear.
As an owner, it puts you in a difficult position: increase prices and risk losing customers, or absorb the difference and reduce your margin.
I understand the platform provides a service and needs to make money. But when customers see higher menu prices, I wish the reason behind them was more widely understood.
Customers: did you know this? And other restaurant owners: how are you making the numbers work?

USA You need to be harsh!

Context: Driver dropped my order to a random door and I could not find it. Called customer service right away and was promised a full refund. Yet still got a revised receipt with tip charged. HELL NO!

I saw a post before and people were getting the same prewritten responses so I was being harsh here. You need to continue and get it right!

This is exactly how a business fall! Rewarding people that’s not being responsible, also with customer service being a reciting bot and make it worse. Thanks to the second agent for the quick action tho.

Fees keep getting worse.

Ordering 2 dinners and 1 dessert from Applebees cost $56.37.

after fees its $20.04 more and this is WITHOUT TIP INCLUDED.

I mean this is coming to a head it's absolutely ridiculous. All these videos of people driving for ubereats complaining that its a "Luxury service" and to not order if you cant afford to tip them something viable. Are these people aware that just in fees we are being charged enough for a whole extra plate/dinner? I stopped using uber eats months ago due to this and tonight I figured id get something just enjoying being in on a Saturday and I just CANNOT justify spending this kind of money in fees.

USA New Uber Eats scam."We can't confirm delivery because there's no photo, but we still won't refund you."

TL;DR: Driver never delivered my food. Support agent (AY/H) admits there is no delivery photo to prove it was dropped off, but still denies my refund, claims the driver "made it to the location," and then abruptly ends the chat. Looking for advice on how to get my money back.

The Story:
I ordered food tonight, and it never showed up. Like many of you, I had to fight through the AI bot just to get a "live agent." What followed was one of the most frustrating, gaslighting customer service experiences I've had with this app.

Here are the highlights from the chat (screenshots attached):

The "Scam":
Notice the exact contradiction here. The agent claims the driver made it to the drop-off location, but when asked for a photo, the agent admits there is no delivery photo.
So, they have zero proof it was delivered, I have no food, but they are keeping my money. They use the lack of driver proof as an excuse not to investigate, and just close the chat so they don't have to deal with it.

I told them I am disputing the charge with my bank and letting the restaurant know their drivers are stealing orders.

Has anyone else experienced this exact script lately? It feels like a new automated way to steal money from customers. If you've dealt with this, did a chargeback actually work, or did Uber ban your account? Any other tips?

Now drivers are lying about delivering ??

Cancelled my order after 1 hour with no reason

My order was accepted and being prepared immediately and a delivery person was assigned successfully. But after 1 hour wait, uber suddenly told me the order was failed with no reason. I contacted their customer service and was told that the delivery person canceled my order and I should be ‘grateful’ that I have got refunded. The restaurant is 5 min away and I tipped properly. Worst experience ever. Rude and irresponsible customer service. Anybody else was treated the same way before?

I went to check promos in Uber Eats and I saw 100% off $200 catering or more with a max promo of $300. I didn’t think it would work. It did. This has to be a glitch right?

I ordered and food should be delivered in 30 mins. 🙏

Driver can’t deliver and won’t cancel the order

I’m so frustrated right now! The driver called me and said he has car issues and he will be bringing the food back to the restaurant. I said no problem, please cancel on your end so they can reassign. He keeps saying he will but won’t… I talked to a rep on chat, told me to wait for him to deliver after I told the rep that he won’t deliver and has been at the same spot for 40 min now! I’m scared to cancel because I don’t want to be ineligible for refund since the food is made and “has been picked up”…. Waiting for someone on the phone for 20 min now. Any suggestions?

Edit: now the delivery person is saying he can’t cancel????
Update: Uber Eats cancelled it… but coincidentally I ordered the last of what they had… so can’t even reorder lol😭

Driver cancelled my order and I was still charged

I ordered some groceries to be delivered, but the driver cancelled. I tried to get a refund via the help chat, but they said no since their records showed the driver arrived, even though I saw no one and the driver didn't respond to any of my messages as I was waiting outside. Is my only option to file a chargeback with my card company now? I spend easily 200/week on uber eats since delivery is my only way to get groceries, takeout, etc which I thought would hold weight but I guess not? And if no, does anyone have recs for alternatives that have better policies? :) (Ik my roommate likes doordash so maybe them...)

I looked at my history and noticed uber eat been just sending me money and it keeps expiring. Not complaining just wanting to know if I should keep using it or one day would they ask me for their money back 😭😭. Also I didn't sign up for uber one but I now started get uber one credit from it. Is that normal.

USA Did I get trolled ?

Seen the driver on the map hanging a few blocks from the store barely moving for over 45 minutes and then they cancel the delivery and it’s on finding another driver status. Looks like it was on purpose.

Cancellation question - refund or chargeback

Ordered uber pickup at a restaurant that had a B1G1 promotion. Placed an order for 7 sandwiches and with the deal it should’ve been 14 sandwiches.

I arrive to the store to pickup they say they only received an order for 7 and not 14 even though they agreed the promotion is live.

I was asked to contact Uber Eats support. Never had an issue or cancelled an order before. The chat support only kept responding in AI generation responses. I ended up accidentally cancelling the order through the ellipsis.

I needed my food anyway so I paid the restaurant directly.

When I finally got connected to the support I was told no refund will be issued. I basically paid double for my order and need my refund from Uber Eats.

Can I expect uber to refund or a chargeback the only possibility?

Horrible Technical Issue with TD Credit Care

I had free membership with my TD credit card. I then switched to Amex and I was charged my monthly membership fee to it. My TD card was cancelled two months ago.

Despite paying the monthly fee for October, I cannot get any Uber One benefits because it’s still asking for the TD credit card! Uber support is completely useless. Even worse, the incompetent agent cancelled my heavily discounted upcoming yearly renewal without any confirmation or approval from me.

This is the worst customer service so have seen in years!
