Hello!
I'm a third year undergraduate student studying biological sciences (genetics, cell and developmental biology). I'm looking for work as a tutor to help cover the costs of school.
I can help students with:
Biology (high school up to Bio 2)
Chemistry (high school up to Chem 2)
Mathematics (pre-algebra up to Calc 1)
Statistics (stats 1)
English (essay writing, literary analysis, general writing styles, etc.)
I have a 3.81 gpa currently. I have ADHD, and am also able to help students with ADHD learn strategies to study in a beneficial way that doesn't increase risks of burnout. I always emphasize the importance of understanding the concepts of the material as opposed to rote memorization, and my style focuses on encouraging the students to ask questions and work through those questions themselves, with my assistance rather than simply providing the answer.
I also work a lot on information recall rather than repetition.
I'm only able to do virtual tutoring over Zoom, but I'm available most days! My starting rate is $15 an hour for high school and middle school courses, and $25 an hour for college level courses. Please reach out if you're interested!

What are some YT channels or videos I should check out to learn about the relevant psychology to help me become a better tutor?

I remember when I was a small lad, I struggled with math and went to a tutor. They had a master's degree and charged $45 for 45 minutes. I remember seeing people before me, and then after me enter the room. I went twice a week so that means at least $270. Their 45 minutes is worth as much as 3 hours of minimum wage for literal middle school math problems. No curriculum or anything. You would bring in your work, they would solve it and give you homework sometimes

Hello!
I’m a year 13 student looking to start a non profit, student led tutoring organisation! The plan is that students in yr12/13 (but if you’re year11 we can hopefully expand in a bit, once this launches) lead online IGCSE/AS preparation classes for groups of disadvantaged students.
Open to IB and AP students too! If you’d like to teach SAT prep; I won’t be able to help with curriculum planning, if so though. This is based in the UAE however students from any country can join, we’d just need to discuss timings and batches, since this is an Independent outside of school thing, you’d ideally teach both students in your school and others in one batch, however a network in your own school is still available and can always expand later!
Teaching would be online/in public libraries (If preferred) ideally each student would teach an hour a week (more or less is acceptable!) and we can add up all our hours; which would be really good for uni applications too!
Im posting on here to ask if anyone would be willing to join as a representative of their school and/or a founding member! There are about 16 students from my school who have signed up and a few more from different schools! So far we’ve got math, physics, chemistry, biology, geography and history; any subjects are welcome, we’d love to have you!
All students that sign up now are listed as founding members, all students that are the first to sign up from their respective schools are board members.
Also if teaching isn’t your thing but you’d still like to spread awareness/discuss philosophical topics then maybe joining my podcast would appeal to you!
If you are a disadvantaged student or a student that is struggling and wish to be tutored please don’t be afraid to reach out; we will find a way to provide you with additional resources, as someone who comes from such a background and has struggled time and time again due to external issues, you are heard, and support will always be there for you, should you ask for it, in even the smallest ways. Don’t be afraid to reach out, for anything.
Feel free to contact me if you’ve got more questions! And if you want to sign up.
Thank you very much!

DO NOT work at this company, whatever you do. The supervisors will have someone tell you one thing and one will tell you another. There is NO job security, you will be promised for a year of work and then suddenly they will drop the ball and lay people off because of "funding." A lot of this centers around Trump cuts in education towards their services, yet I'm starting to wonder if this is almost legal because of this practice. We had 50+ people get cut randomly on a Tuesday afternoon because the funding randomly dried up, screwing over EVERYBODY at the company.
I don't know how supervisors are keeping up with all of this, I suggest they jump ship now. This company is complete garbage. What has everyone's experience been with Catapult?
I love tutoring and my students but this is ridiculous, and no one is assertive enough to challenge the higher ups or CEO as to why funding is being cut so dramatically. DO NOT work for Catapult.

I've been thinking about how to offer low-priced tutoring while still making it work on my end, and I'm wondering if there would be interest in the idea of a "summer readiness course" to help students prepare for up-coming difficult math courses.
Over the summer I'm much less busy and can offer a lower rate anyway. On top of that, if I were teaching several different students the same content at the same time, then they could split the bill and each person pays even less. I would charge maybe $30 per student per hour, and cap class sizes to five students at a time.
I could design a course like this to cover any of the following subjects:
If I get a sufficient amount of interest in one subject, then I'll start designing the course that I would teach. When I'm ready, I could start explaining all the logistics of homeworks, timetables, specific topics, and so on. I know the summer is a long way away, but I would probably want a good amount of time like that to start putting together the course.

Hi everyone! I'm an experienced academic tutor offering individualized tutoring for students in grades 3–12.
I hold a bachelor's degree in Biology from Michigan Technological University and a master's degree in Information Science. I also have experience working as a STEM Student Success Coach and providing one-on-one academic tutoring.
I work with students in science, math, history, social studies, and writing. I particularly enjoy adapting lessons to different learning styles and helping students build confidence in their abilities.
My sessions emphasize interaction, discussion, creative exercises, and step-by-step instruction rather than simply giving students answers. My goal is to help students develop a genuine understanding of the material and become more independent learners.
Preferred rate: $45/hour (some flexibility available)
All scheduling and tutoring arrangements are handled through Wyzant. You can learn more about my qualifications, subjects, and teaching approach here:

Tired of studying Russian grammar only to forget it a week later? Or understanding the rules but struggling to use them when you speak?
I'm Irina, a professional Russian teacher with 17 years of experience. I offer individual, structured Russian courses for adults, from complete beginners to advanced learners.
My approach is simple: learning Russian shouldn't mean jumping between unrelated topics, memorizing endless grammar tables, or constantly starting from scratch.
A complete, structured course
You're not booking a series of random lessons. You'll follow a carefully organized program where grammar, vocabulary, speaking, listening, and reading develop together. Every new topic builds on what you've already learned.
Grammar you'll actually understand and use
Russian cases, verb aspects, verbs of motion, and other difficult topics don't have to remain a mystery. I explain how these structures work, often using comparisons with English, and help you apply them in practical situations rather than simply memorizing rules.
Regular revision instead of constant forgetting
Previously studied material doesn't disappear once we move to a new topic. We continuously revisit and reuse it through exercises, dialogues, and speaking practice, helping you turn passive knowledge into active language skills.
Your own organized learning space
Your learning doesn't end when the lesson does. You'll have a personal learning space with organized course materials, making it easy to review previous lessons and practise independently.
Depending on your course, materials may include interactive flashcards, quizzes, homework, PDFs, and audio or video resources.
Professional qualifications and individual attention
I have a degree from Tver State University and a professional qualification in Teaching Russian as a Foreign Language from the Pushkin State Russian Language Institute.
My courses follow a clear structure, but the pace, explanations, and amount of practice are adapted to your level, difficulties, and goals.
Who are my lessons for?
Complete beginners who want to build a solid foundation from the start.
Intermediate learners who know the rules but struggle to use Russian independently.
Advanced learners who want to improve accuracy, expand vocabulary, and develop more natural communication.
Students who prefer a systematic course over occasional conversation sessions or disconnected lessons.
The first introductory meeting is free. We can discuss your goals, current level, and how I would organize your learning. You can find my qualifications, student reviews, lesson rates, and booking information here: www.ruslangnest.com
If you're looking for more than occasional Russian practice and want a professional teacher, a clear learning plan, and consistent progress, I'd be happy to work with you.
