Just saw the twigs announced a run of shows in California with tchotchke! Should be a good time.

A few songs I recorded during the Rome concert!

Here’s a question, albeit kinda random, for any of you hawk eared ones out there with much more musical knowledge than I…

That hauntingly beautiful low ‘bass’ note that’s heard a few times in ‘Company’ off Brian’s album, does anyone know if it’s a bass guitar or an organ pedal? Or something else?

I’m just curious, it always reminds me of the same sound on Carl Wilson’s version of ‘Surfs Up’ on the Beach Boys album of the same name, at the ‘Dim last toasting’ part. It just sounds too fuzzy, almost bellowy to sound like it’s being plucked.

Any ideas?

I just wanted to let this subreddit know that I started a tchotchke subreddit if you’re also a fan of them. There’s a lot of crossover with the lemon twigs fanbase, however they don’t have a subreddit and I always like talking about them, so if you like them too, swing on over there!

There’s only a couple of post right now so the realm of discussion is very much so open lol

I wonder if...

A) Maybe I'm misremembering and the music was actually ALWAYS quite contemporary, when in actuality it was their way of dressing that was more retro or...

B) Their pastiches got so accurate over time that Do Hollywood doesn't sound as old-school as it did. When I listened to Look for Your Mind! this year for example, I could easily say, "Oh this reminds me of The Beatles, this reminds me of that one obscure Who song, this feels very Beach Boys coded," whereas with Do Hollywood, I couldn't think of a band they're referencing on, say, "These Words" or "Great Snake". As a whole, though I'd say it sounds like it's in the same lane as Foxygen (understandably) and Tame Impala without sounding like they're emulating these bands.

This is not a complaint by any means. It's just an observation. If anything, I'd say the turn they took was for the better.

NOTE: To avoid repeat songs in the chart, "How Lucky Am I?" for Sounds like LFYM/Is actually Do Hollywood was changed to the song receiving the second-most votes for that round "As Long As We're Together"

Je vends une place pour le concert du 11 octobre à La Cigale !

They played a song that wasn’t listed as a cover yesterday in Italy, does anyone have any footage?

The set list was phenomenal my memory is not. If anyone who was at the vip with me can recall the songs they played would be greatly appreciated. My brain has taken a beating throughout the years. I was the one who asked about new ugly cassanova.
