MOD Announcement Yes, It's a scam and this is how it works (2020 edition) NSFW

2.0k Upvotes

If you receive a suspicious message from someone you've never met offering to send you large sums of money please proceed with caution.

The message might've been sent by an individual attempting advance-fee fraud, also called the “419 scam.”

What to look out for

In combination, the following characteristics may indicate that you're dealing with a scammer:

Does he/she:

  • Use odd phrases, or strange formatting in the conversation?
  • Offer to send you more money than you are asking for? This is known as an overpayment scam and is described under How the Scam Appears below.
  • Say they are a traveling businessperson, an oceanographer, out of the country, want to start providing for you before you meet or away at sea?
  • Insist you reply via a personal email address, off of SA or whatever site they originally contacted you on? A SD/SM who immediately insists on communicating off of site may be questionable.
  • Seem to not have read or looked at your profile, based on their vague questions?
  • Insist on sending you a check, your bank login information, your credit card login information, or offers you their bank account information to pay off debt, etc.
  • Asks you to send some of the money to someone else. An employee, charity, etc before the money has cleared.
  • Asks you to purchase gift cards and give him/her the code on the back before the money has cleared.
  • Wants to put you on his/her payroll.

How the scam appears

The scammer will attempt to convince you to accept a fake payment for more than the allowance amount you initially agreed to/was offered by him/her. If they are successful, the scammer will get the money/or gift card value. In nearly every case, the con artist will not be caught.

Here's an example of how the scam can play out:

You get the attention of a 419 scammer. They offer you an allowance amount with no request to meet up, excuse why they can't now, or an online arrangement. They tell you an allowance amount that is too good to be true, $1,000 a week but then sends you $1,800. They want you to send the extra money to someone else via Western Union, Money Gram, etc, because they can't right now(even though they just sent some to you). Or they want you to purchase itune, amazon, google play gift cards and send them the number on the back.

You deposit the $1,800 into your bank and then spend $800 doing the favors for the scammer. Or pay off your credit card with the info they gave you and used the card to make gift card purchases for the scammer. The scammer counts on you doing this before the check officially clears your bank account. This window between deposit and processing is known as “float time” and can last seven days, ten days, or even longer if the payment is international. During this time the money can be transferred, but it has not been verified by your bank as real.

Once the payment is processed, your bank will determine that it is fake. They will take the entire $1,800 back from you. Since you will have already spent the $800 for the scammer, you must repay the bank $800 of your own money. If you have spent any of the $1,000 you thought you earned, you will also need to replace that. In the case of the credit card you will owe the full balance you thought was payed off plus any purchases you made on behalf of the scammer.

Why does this scam work?

These scammers typically create multiple accounts on dating and social media sites and send the same message to many different people with little or no personalization. The scammer's messages are meant to trigger greed and over ride common sense.

The scammer’s payment is a forgery. It is not real! Your bank may allow you to deposit it, or your credit card might say payment received but the payment will not clear. Your bank will hold you responsible for the entire amount.

In the case of a PayPal payment, the scammer will either send a fake PayPal confirmation email or pay with a fraudulent payment source. Whether you return the “overpayment” via PayPal or a wire transfer service such as Western Union or Money Gram, you will still be held responsible for all of the money involved.

Remember: Money sent back to the scammer is money which is lost forever.

What you should do

  • Do not respond to the messages. Don't engage these scammers for any reason. Responding will encourage the scammers and cause you to receive further scam messages, and give the scammer more opportunities to manipulate you.
  • Report the account messaging you if that is an option.
  • If you've already given out your personal login information contact your bank immediately and let them know you believe your account may be compromised. Follow their security protocols for securing your account.
  • If you've already sent money or gift cards, still contact your bank but you're pretty much screwed. You'll owe the money spent even if it was an empty account created especially for this purpose. And you may have your accounts shutdown for fraudulent activities or owe additional fees.
  • The scammer, sensing your reluctance, may start sending you messages threatening legal action if you don't send their money back. This is one of many reasons you should just block all scammer messages, so you don't panic into doing something stupid. You do not have their money, and you should not send them anything.

Other Signs of Scams

You can be certain you're getting scammed if you see any of these things. To be clear: if you experience any of these things, it's always a scam.

  • He asks you anything about your bank account -- the account number so that he can do a transfer, the bank, or the username/password. No SD needs this information.
  • He wants you to open a bank account, id.me account, an account at a particular place he specifies, or any other type of account. He may have specific sites he needs you to open the account at.
  • He gives you his bank account information and wants you to transfer money out of it
  • He wants you to pick up a vanilla card or any sort of reloadable visa card or gift card, Steam Card, iTunes card, Google Play card, etc.
  • He wants to put you on the payroll or otherwise pay you through his business
  • He wants to send you a check or picture of a check to deposit
  • He wants to send you a payment but wants you to send back some of it in the form of a gift card or any other way, or to send some of the money on to a different account or person. He will likely have some (poor) explanation as to why he needs you to send it on, rather than doing it himself.
  • He wants you to install "blockchain", will only deal in bitcoin, altcoins, or any other cryptocurrency. He wants you to buy bitcoin (or any cybercurrency) on his behalf, for any reason.
  • He can only do mobile deposit (he'll have some story as to why -- venmo has given him trouble, he's gotten ripped off through paypal, he can't use any apps, etc)
  • He can only send allowance through some obscure mechanism -- bitcoin, blockchain, discovery account, etc. The mechanism itself will change, it's the fact that he's picked one this one mechanism that is not cash, that you need to look for
  • He is very focused on you telling him about all your debt (often to the exclusion of doing any discussion about what his expectations are in a sugar relationship). Once he's got you realizing how big your debt is, he'll offer to pay it all off -- and this will lead directly into one of the other scams here (e.g., the credit card will look paid off but the transfer will be reversed, he'll overpay and demand you to send some of the overpayment back or on to someone else, etc)
  • He wants your login info for any currency transfer app or mechanism
  • He has not met you yet, or gotten any value from the relationship at all, but he wants to transfer large sums to you or pay off your credit cards or loans
  • He gives you his credit card or bank account # and tells you to use them or transfer money out of them
  • He's looking for platonic, but wants to send large sums to you
  • He wants to use you as his personal assistant, he'll send money to you, and your job will be to pass that money on to others. Or any variation of him wanting to put you on his payroll.
  • He claims he is going to have his assistant, accountant, financial advisor, CFO, lawyer, or any other third party, arrange the financials.
  • He'll start sending you a large allowance, but you need to send him a little money first to verify you are real and establish trust (any "prove you are real" "prove you are serious" obligation is a scam). You have to pay some sort of "commitment fee" because he's been scammed before so he needs to know he can trust you.
  • You need to pay money, for any reason whatsoever, in order to collect your allowance. Most common is that you need to pay some sort of paypal or venmo fee before the funds can be released. He may show you a fake screenshot to "prove" this.
  • You need to send money or bitcoin on to someone or somewhere else, for any reason whatsoever.
  • He sends you pics of documents that would completely compromise him and his security (e.g., his DL, his Passport) in advance
  • He shows you screenshots of his bank accounts and/or transfers he's made to previous SBs. He sends you a video of his former SBs saying that he's paid them. He volunteers to let you talk to his previous SBs. Any sort of validation of the fact that he's made transfers before is a scam, no legit SD would ever do this.
  • He pretends to try to use an app to send money, then shows you screenshots of how it failed, in order to manipulate you into using his transfer method of choice (usually credit or gift card, or pic of check)
  • He's going to pay you an allowance but allowance won't start until the middle or end of the month (he's going to collect his month of free sex and then ghost)
  • You try to discuss allowance and he shames you for being a prostitute, "I thought you were different", etc. Gaslighting you and making you feel guilty, him pretending to be morally outraged, this is always the prelude to either a scam or him manipulating you to have sex without any support.
  • SD whose name/number you don't recognize, contacts you on text (they have your phone number), claims to have gotten it from another SD.
  • SD contacts you and then claims to be lining up an SB for his friend.
  • He is still a POT, and wants you to delete your profile, and is pushy about it if you push back. No one who is still a POT cares whether you have an active profile or not; they don't want you to have a profile so it's tougher to report them.
  • You're a male SB and you've met an SM. This is about 100% certain of a scam by itself, but if you've never met and they want to send you money, then 110% certain.
  • He sends you pictures of money
  • Any variation of a man contacting you trying to convince you to be SD to his girlfriend or some love interest of his
  • He wants to do a cashapp transfer but won't use your cashtag, he needs your cashapp card
  • She wants you to venmo money before the M&G (to pay for gas, or her nails, etc) or due to a sudden crisis (e.g., flat tire)
  • She wants you to send her money before you've met, and/or as a condition of meeting, to "prove you're serious"
  • She has a crisis (family emergency, a bill to pay) and needs you to send her money, before you've ever met. This will usually occur just before the M&G.
  • She tells you she won't accept cash and requires a gift card instead. She's has no intention of meeting -- she'll have you send a pic of the gift card in advance to prove you bought it, then use the numbers to make purchases, without ever seeing you.

Could be a scam

Maybe not 100%, but the vast majority of the time, these are scams.

  • In general, only scammers make a big deal about wanting a "loyal and honest" SB, and only scammers want "just text me every day and listen to me". These words and desires are pretty much always scammers.
  • You've just joined a discord, kik, or other private sugar group where the group owner/moderator sets you up with another group member to be your SD. Spoiler alert: the mod who is acting as a matchmaker, and the SD he's set you up with, are the same person. I have never heard of this type of situation where it hasn't ended badly for the SB, but leaving this in "could be a scam" for now.
  • It's the very beginning of an arrangement and he wants to use venmo, cashapp, or paypal instead of cash, to send you allowance (this is not a red flag if sending a smaller symbolic gift). Despite popular belief, all three of those are reversible, although not always easily. Cash is best at the beginning.
  • SD sends you a message, and in his very first message, he says he wants you to contact him by text, whatsapp, kik, etc. New SD non-premium accounts get 10 free messages they're allowed to send, but they cannot read any responses unless they pay the $100 for a premium account. Since many scammers (and other undesirables) do not want to pay for a premium account, they need you to respond off the site. Do not even consider replying off the site unless you first confirm the SD contacting you has a premium account. If you're not sure, send them a message back through SA. If he can read it and respond, he's premium.
  • Man claiming to be an SD randomly approaches you on Instagram or other social media (nearly all instagram stories end up being scams). SD emphasizes he wants some combination of loyalty, trust, honesty: very common reverse psychology ploy, before the scam starts, and a common element of the scammer script. 98% of the time it's a scammer.
  • She requires you give her the full allowance or PPM at the beginning of the date (e.g., when she gets to the restaurant) rather than when you get to the room
  • Poor grammar and odd phrasing is common among scammers. Some mistakes very commonly seen include "Am interested in being your SD" (Leaving out "I"), and "will like to give you allowance" (instead of "would"). Other commonly seen phrases: "Hello I am William by name", "I want to spoil you with my money". While there are legit non-native English speaking SDs out there, these particular phrases are tip-offs you're probably dealing with a scammer.

The rules change once you're in an established arrangement and have earned trust. The rules are slightly different in non-US countries also, where some forms of bank transfer are safer... but still, it makes little sense not to start with cash, which is safe.

A Word About POTs Contacting You On Reddit

Please also read: https://www.reddit.com/r/sugarlifestyleforum/comments/la5mlk/caution_to_slf_sbs_on_reddit_scammers_posing_as/

Anywhere there are people gathering in numbers to talk sugar, there will be many, many scammers. That doesn't just mean Seeking or Instagram, it also means reddit. Many SBs are lured into a false sense of security when someone on reddit DMs them, claiming to be an slf member. The scammers take advantage of the fact that we naturally feel close to our fellow sub members. Many SBs have fallen victim to scams that start with a DM on reddit. And it's not just SBs, multiple SDs also have bad stories, often resulting in blackmail attempts and other scams, when the SD lets his guard down and uses his real phone number, does a video chat, or something similar. This applies as much to SDs.

Three suggestions:

  1. Vet all reddit contacts as tightly as you would a POT on SA. Do not give any up-front benefit of the doubt just because they're on reddit, or claim to have interacted with you on the sub. For you SDs: one of the blackmail stories that happened here, the "SB" scammer first did a profile review (!) and appeared to use iMessage (!!) when texting... and still turned out to be a blackmailer. The victim SD DMed the SB after her profile review because he was attracted, which we think was the strategy all along. The "SB" behind that profile review turned out to be a blackmailer.
  2. Strongly consider not even accepting DMs from lurkers in the first place. Through tracing some of the scam stories, we've found that nearly all these scams start with an unsolicited DM from someone who is not active on slf. They claim to be on slf, they may claim to have interacted with you there or are reaching out because of something you wrote. But if you look at their post history, there is no post history on slf. The one simple, easy thing you can do to protect yourself is to decline all these DMs. Only accept DMs from names you recognize from the sub, or who at least have a post history on slf.
  3. The fact that he is so charming and nice, is not proof he's not a scammer. "He was so nice, he didn't act like a scammer, so I let my guard down" is a common refrain from scammed SBs. Being nice isn't proof of anything -- be sure to vet your POTs!

Discussion Where are they now? NSFW

I've been on SLF for over three years now (not short nor long) and consider myself an active participant. I'm not usually one to leave lengthy, thoughtful comments, mine tend to be short, and sometimes snarky.

Over the years, though, I've noticed there are always a few prolific commenters who seem to spend an incredible amount of time writing long, detailed responses (no matter how busy they claimed their lives to be). Then, after a while, they suddenly disappear.

Does anyone else ever wonder what happened to them or what they're up to these days? Has anyone ever kept in touch with them outside of SLF?

Vent/Rant Pretty isn't a personality: Looks don't replace effort or basic communication skills NSFW

Just a quick rant/reminder for the aspiring SBs out there: being gorgeous and sexy will get your foot in the door, but it won't keep the door open if you don't put in any actual effort.

I recently connected with a POT SB who was, by all accounts, stunning. However, the communication dynamic turned into a complete headache almost instantly.

I clearly stated my scheduling needs and availability upfront. Despite making it as straightforward as possible, she seemed completely unable or unwilling to comprehend basic coordination. Her communication pattern consisted of:

  • Dry, low-effort one-word or short responses.
  • Massive delays—taking hours or days to reply.
  • Randomly popping up out of nowhere offering to meet up on short notice at completely random times, totally ignoring everything we had previously discussed.

It’s as if she assumed her looks meant I would just drop everything and jump at any breadcrumb she threw my way.

Real SDs are busy, value their time, and expect clear, respectful communication. Attraction is the baseline, but effort, enthusiasm, and respect for someone’s time are what actually seal the deal. I completely lost interest and declined.

Don't let entitlement ruin a good opportunity before it even starts.

Newbie Question First time meeting a potential sb, is a gift expected? NSFW

We haven’t discussed anything yet besides general compatibility. I don’t know what this might be. Ppm, arrangement, etc.

We’re meeting for nice dinner.

I don’t know enough about them to get them something personal.

And idk I hate the awkwardness of what to do with flowers but I’ve been a flowers person in the past.

Any advice?

ETA: date went really well! I think this is a really good connection. I took some peoples advice of bringing chocolates. I got some from a local confectionary which was super cute. And I offered ahead of time to pay for uber back and forth. So we went into it with some exchange and everything flowed well and we both seem happy to move forward at this point.

Seeking Advice Advice NSFW

I restarted my profile after 2 yrs & something feels different.

I have been on multiple sites(seeking, secret benefits, what's your Price, etc.). They all seem to have less SB profiles compared to 2020 till 2024. Lately I see more 25+ SB very few under. I feel like people have moved to another platform or AM I missing something. Can anyone relate/Advice?

I feel I'm outdated on something.

Seeking Advice Sugar Relationship with kinks NSFW

I would love to find an SD who is also into having a hotwife. A man who knows what he likes and enjoys such a dynamic. I have run into some lovely men who have wanted this type of relationship in the past (all SDs) but at the time, it wasn't something I was interested in.

I'm also wary because I want an authentic connectio - not someone who just wants to use my kink to their advantage. So obviously I've tried sharing with SDs during our M&G and they want to jump straight to that sexual aspect without any of the foundation and trust building that such a dynamic requires! So being upfront seems to work against me.

Hence, I'm looking for any tips and advice on how I should approach this with potential SDs?

Commentary “SD sent less than usual” update NSFW

Post image
8 Upvotes

So I deleted my former post (here: https://www.reddit.com/r/sugarlifestyleforum/s/gI0LAdjov0) but for those who engaged with the post and wanted an update …

Summary on deleted post: Saw an SD for 5 months in 2025. Long distance - different cities but same state. Met on Seeking. Hit it off on the first date and he asked to see me the following day so I asked for a gift. He offered mid X,XXX. He canceled but still Zelle’d me the full amount. We began seeing each other once a month. He would fly me to his city, I would stay at his house for 1-2 days, and he would Zelle me mid X,XXX every time. Because of his great generosity I didn’t feel the need to formalize anything. We never discussed a formal agreement. We started seeing each other again this fall. In September, same thing, spent a day together, Zelle’d me mid X,XXX. We got together again in October but this time he was late to Zelle and sent me low X,XXX less than usual. I asked him if everything was ok, as I took him sending it late and less than usual as negative feedback.

Update: We talked it through and now have an understanding that I’m happy with the usual amount he sends ☺️ Adoreeeee the real SDs/generous men in this world !!

Question For SDs who made choices when a steady, good arrangement ended NSFW

So, sugar arrangements end at your discretion, your SB ends it, or you have mutually decided to move on. It happens out of the blue, or some issue, like a graduation and move away, was foreseen. Most of us have had several to lots of SRs end. I am mostly interested in what guys have done when a really great SB left your dating life, presumably after a half year or more. Comments are welcome, to fill in what poll options miss.

122 votes, 3d left
I immediately started a search for my next SB
I took a short break from sugar dating of a week to a month
I took however much time I need, but over a month.
I decided to leave the sugar bowl for good
I chose to start vanilla dating but went back to sugar after a while

Seeking Advice Should I negotiate with an older POT SD? NSFW

I’d love some advice, especially from SBs with experience.
I recently met a POT SD who’s around 60 or older. We had a lovely meet and greet at a nice hotel, and he was generous afterwards.

He’s since proposed a regular arrangement involving bedroom meets every two weeks, with additional platonic meets as an option. He initially made an offer and then increased it when i didn’t reply immediately and he mentioning that he expected me to negotiate. He would also cover hotels and meals.

He’s told me I’m his preferred choice, although he has another POT in mind, and he’s asked me to make a decision by the end of next week.

For context, I’m in my early 20s, and my previous experiences have generally been with men in their late 30s to late 40s. I recently met another SD who was younger and considerably more generous.

I’ve never been with someone this much older before, so I’m trying to work out whether I should negotiate further or accept his current offer. I’m also conscious that I don’t want to lose the opportunity for a potentially consistent arrangement by pushing too hard.

For those of you who’ve been in similar situations; has a significant age gap affected how you’ve approached an arrangement?

I’d really appreciate hearing your experiences and perspectives! 💕

BACKGROUND - This is my first ever sugar relationship. I am a 45M who is unmarried, no children, and conventionally attractive (6' tall, muscular, full head of hair, beard, sleeve tat, etc.). I am not a millionaire but I have a stable six-figure salary and financially secure. 8 months ago I tried my first sugar relationship with a 20F I matched with on secret benefits who lived in my same town and also said this was her first sugar relationship. We both agreed since neither of us had done this before we would just figure it out as we went. The only real rule we established was we both could see other people.

The first 4 months were awesome. I couldn't believe I didn't try this sooner. Because she only lived 15 minutes away she spent 3-4 nights a week at my place. She would cook and clean for me. We would cuddle and watch movies, hold hands in public, etc. Even bought me gifts and helped me decorate my place. She would initiate sex with me even during times I wasn't in the mood. We hung out with each other's friends and family. She would cry to me about very personal problems. It ended up being much closer to a traditional relationship than I expected. In exchange I would take her to very expensive restaurants, on expensive trips, shopping trips, and also gave her a credit card to use although she never charged much on it. Neither of us were seeing other people at this time.

The next 4 months were less awesome. Around month 4 she moved 2 hrs away to a bigger city where she got a job at Twin Peaks. This not only limited the time we see each other down to once a week she also started immediately dating/sleeping with men her own age. That is fine since I also started to fill in the time she used to occupy with other women as well. However, the difference is I continued doing all the same things for her where her treatment of me became hot and cold.

I could instantly tell whenever she was talking to / sleeping with another guy because she would go from hot to cold on me. The good morning texts stopped. The random sexy pics stopped. I would get left on read for hours and hours. Then, whenever that other dude would fizzle out the old her would be back again. That would last for a couple of a weeks until another guy entered the picture and the cycle would start again. Her treatment of me became very inconsistent based on whether another guy was in the picture or not where my treatment of her remained the same, which caused a lot of arguments. Her response was always to either deny she was treating me any differently or to say "If you're not happy we can just end it".

It all came to a head 2 weeks ago when I took her and 2 of her friends on a 3 day trip out of town. I paid for everything for her and her 2 friends and it cost me a couple thousand dollars. Literally one day before the trip she told me she slept with a guy she's been seeing the night before we were supposed to leave. Then on the entire trip she was either ignoring me or being rude and disrespectful towards me. After the trip I sent her a text telling her that her treatment of me on that trip was out of line and her exact response was.....

"I am tired of your insane behavior every time you think I am out of line. You're blocked."

She then blocked me on all social media but not my phone number. I waited a day and then sent the following response

"You know you treated me like shit on that trip. All I am saying is don't do it again. Can we make up now?"

She read that message but never responded. After a week of no contact between us she randomly unblocked me on facebook but nothing else so I sent her this message....

"I miss you but you obviously do not want to talk to me right now so I will respect that."

She read that message but did not respond. That was 2 days ago. Also I noticed her best friend is now viewing all my snap stories where before she didn't. My question is this.....

1. Do you think she ever had actually feelings for me, especially in the first 4 months, or was that all "part of the act"?

2. Do you think she misses me now? Obviously there is another guy her own age involved but he can't provide what I can provide just like I can't provide what he can

3. I would like to fix this and go back to the how we were. Can I do that or is this unsalvageable at this point?

4. Where (if anywhere) did I go wrong to cause this?

Are there any better alternatives to seeking.com? Especially in Europe, I’m new to this and i feel it is full of content sellers and scammers.

Off Topic You should always check the restaurant you make reservations at NSFW

I have a funny story to share help lighten the mood up here. In my previous arrangement, I learned a very valuable lesson, always research the restaurant you are going to. I had set a date to go to this restaurant unknowingly at a very high end restaurant, I simply heard it was good and it was new and decided to go to.

Stupid me didn't think much as to why my SB is completely dressed up and I am in jeans and a bright yellow t-shirt with a print of a cat in a cowboy hat saying "meowdy". Then we get there and luck would have it we are instantly seated and waiter comes over.

Every single person was dressed up, except for 1 person in a bright yellow cat shirt.

Service and food were excellent that even warranted the rare 100% tip.

Seeking Advice Is this a mentally ill behaviour or What is it!? NSFW

About 10 days ago, I got a dm from a Redditor claiming he was an SD looking for an SB in Europe. After a little screening chat, we moved to Telegram. We had that kind of conversation you have when you kind of fall for someone in a vanilla relationship... We planned to meet this weekend, and all seemed perfect, but this morning I woke up to a 'deleted account'. One thing worth mentioning, though, that was maybe odd: he kept saying that my ppm was too low, and he seemed surprised when I said I am happy to spend more time together on the same ppm. Anyway, last night when we were discussing details for the weekend ahead, he asked if I was expecting ppm x every day of the weekend I was going to stay with him 'because he was going to use the cash machine'. We planned to meet from Friday evening to Sunday lunchtime. I didn't really expect ppm for every day, but he's been talking about how low my ppm was, and he gave me the time and chance to become a bit greedy about it, and I said... yes; Anyway, even paying me double the ppm I asked for seemed to be more than manageable since he was talking so much about how low my ppm is. In the morning, I woke up to his Telegram account deleted, as well as his Reddit account deleted. OK, people vanish, and I am not taking it personally;

Maybe he freaked out thinking that I wanted ppm for Friday, Saturday, Sunday, since I didn't make it clear that I didn't expect more than double, nor did he say anything else...

My questions is:
Is there a mental illness associated with this kind of behaviour? Why on earth would you spend so much time staying consistent every day to talk to someone, to picture as the perfect provider, sugar boyfriend potential etc. and then vanish?
I struggle to make sense of how a healthy mind would do such a thing.

Vent/Rant I Want My SD to Be Unmarried NSFW

Since I made my first post here, I’ve gratefully received a lot of advice❣️ I’ve also had some deep conversations with a few sds but I’ve noticed that most of the men who contacted me are married.

I really don’t mind if someone is divorced or in a mutually agreed upon open relationship. But the idea of being involved with someone who is cheating on their spouse makes me feel quite guilty, and I find myself hesitant to pursue those arrangements :(

I want to enjoy our dynamic, spend quality time together, and build a mutually beneficial relationship! I don’t really want to take on the additional ethical dilemmas and risks that come with being part of an affair. Someone told me that the most generous sds are usually married, but I’m not sure I want to believe that. I guess it probably varies from person to person, and I’d rather not assume that someone’s marital status determines how generous or thoughtful they’ll be.

Discussion POT SB & Fancy Car NSFW

Was talking to a POT SB last week and realized she drives a new, really nice (~$100K) car. Nothing inherently wrong with this of course, but she doesn’t work, and no doubt is needing me to fund her lease / financing. I guess it just feels like we’ve gotten pretty far away from the “struggling student” archetype that maybe sugar dating started with. And it’s not that I lack generosity, maybe more that I want to give it to people I view as truly needing help vs. people who expect champagne taste on a beer budget. Maybe it also speaks to her expectations or number of SDs that she’s treating herself to a nice car than I’d buy for myself. Expecting to get blasted, but curious to hear this subs thoughts on the matter.

Newbie Question Good ol' nepotism, I mean networking... How does it work? NSFW

I've been offered jobs by at least three wealthy men the same day I met them (separate incidents). I have a relatively impressive career history, but no one said "We need a React and Node specialist!", they just said "Come and work for my team!" - and I don't know what that means, since their teams weren't directly working with my specialist skillset.

Obviously, I should have asked more questions at the time, but I was sure they'd change their mind in the morning. They did not. I was extremely flustered because they suggested it like it was such a normal thing, and I felt like an idiot for not understanding how you can offer someone a job without providing a job spec or talking to the team(?) or even asking what kind of job I could/would do.

They all wanted to pursue sugar dynamics (I'd never experienced that at the time) but two of them made it clear the offer wasn't contingent on that (whether they were sincere or not is besides the point). I'm aware being on payroll can be an accepted form of sugar, but I don't know if that looks like this or if this is something totally different, since we were firmly in POT territory.

For unrelated reasons the dialogue didn't continue, but now that I'm not so brand new to being treated with such generosity I would take an offer seriously.

If someone offers a beautiful, intelligent woman a job that they've magicked out of nowhere, how does it work? Is it usually a real job or an excuse to be on payroll? And... Does anyone have advice for asking an existing SD for help getting into one of those roles?

Commentary Ten months and counting! NSFW

I have been seeing the same person for ten months and today is our ten month-aversary!

Last night, we were laying in bed and chatting and he asked me what I thought I was most grateful for about our relationship. Honestly, there are so many things I’m grateful for, but HE is really what I’m grateful for. I told him that the way he loves me has changed my life, and it has. Im most grateful for the space he’s given me, the incredible amount of respect and effort he shows me, and that those actions alone make him different than any other man I have ever known.

I never post about him (and it’s not because I don’t want the whole world to know how amazing he is and how wonderfully he treats me), I realized that I never mentioned the progression of our relationship to this forum and don’t really give updates because I am SO secure in our relationship. He’s never made me question it and I can talk to him about anything - literally anything.

I hope this kind of love finds some of you and happy anniversary to my sweetness 🥰

Question Nudes and Sexting NSFW

Most of my SD/SB relationships have been long distance where I see the woman in a city I travel to for work. in between meetings she would occasionally send me a fun picture of her getting out of the shower, laying in bed nude, etc. we would sext and occasionally do phone sex. I was never asked for compensation/gifts nor did I ever feel obligated. she found it fun and obviously I enjoyed it too.

i am starting a new relationship and we met for a platonic meet and greet and it went great. No intimacy but we discussed our next date (planned to not be platonic) when I return in a couple weeks. i gave her a nice financial gift for the meet and greet. After getting home I sent her a gift card for a massage after she took a couple mid-terms.

We have been sending occasional messages everyday. today she asks me “what will you give me if I send you spicy pictures?” I told her I don’t want to play that game when I have already proven I am generous to this point. She wants it to be extra.

Women, do you expect a gift for sending pictures/sexting in your sugar relationship?

Men, what would you do if you are in this situation?

I am leaning toward looking for someone else…
