Help What are some comics I can read to get a better understand of Storm?
I want to know more about the Goddess my knowledge is somewhat causal. I know her animated series version but not her comic counterpart. What makes her tick, where her morals lie? What she likes in friends and allies. What does Storm look for in a friend? I understand her friendship with Jean, but still some parts I’m missing. Also what does Storm not like in friends or allies. I see a lot of discourse of Storm being depicted too much as super benevolent. What are your guys opinions?

Fan Creation First time doing fan art of storm
I did some fanart of storm for the first time and while I have my problems with it and will probably do a better one, I'm proud I finally made something, I hope you guys like it too.
Also I thought it would be cool if storms eyes had like the six eyes effect going on or maybe they reflect the aspect of weather she is going to use, I don't know honestly I just wanted an excuse to digitally paint.

Discussion Oh wow, it's Murewa Storm who totally zero flaws and is just a perfect goddess/s
Look, I have my own problems with the Storm solo (I even have a problem with this particular page but thar's beside the point), but it gets so tired when all the biggest voices criticizing this solo have clearly never read it and are just regurgitating thought terminating cliches.
No, Murewa did not write Storm as flawless in the solo and her biggest flaw, that Storm refuses help from other people and ignores advice given to her, is pointed out by Storm herself.

Discussion Why is there a misconception that Storm hates Spider-Man?
The only times she was annoyed with him was during Spider-Man and the X-Men cuz she was a stressed out headmistress mourning Logan (they make up in the end)
Literally every other crossover shows that she's pretty chill with him.

Movies Yes, it’s another MCU shipping post, I apologize in advance
Is there a consensus on who our girl should date in the MCU? I feel like there are several possible options
Why it might be T’Challa/Toussaint- love it or hate it, the Storm and Black Panther pairing is one of the most recognizable, also Storm dating The Black Panther would give her greater crossover potential
Why it might not be T’Challa/Toussaint- he isn’t classic T’Challa, now I don’t think this is a dealbreaker, if Chadwick hadn’t died, they either would not have approached this relationship at all, which would have been fine since I liked him with Nakia, or they would have aged Storm up (an idea I’m not really a fan of unless everyone else was also aged up), the MCU isn’t the comics universe so they can get away with generational fuckery like this, at least in my opinion.
Why it might be Forge- He’s her love interest in X Men 97, so they may want to make that canon in the movies as well for synergy purposes.
Why it might not be Forge- He has not been cast yet so we don’t even know if he’s going to show up, although I personally hope he does, his powers are very cool, also as hyped as I am for new X Men movies, this cast is extremely white so far, so I hope that rumor about them looking for an indigenous actor is true
Why it might be Logan- a lot of people like it in the comics, and Wolverine is a very popular character so even if he doesn’t show up right away I wouldn’t rule out getting a rebooted version of him eventually.
Why it might not be Logan- I can’t think of a reason besides him being a hypothetical like Forge, but I will say I like this option the least. I’m not 100 percent against this ship, especially if the actor playing Logan is hot, but it’s simply the least appealing option to me.
Why it might be someone else- the MCU does this, it might just go completely random with it and put her with an OC or someone else unexpected
Why it might not be someone else- she already has viable canon options so this would be kind of dumb and at worst, add an unnecessary character.
My preference: Either T’Challa or Forge, I think both pairings have a ton of potential.
To be clear, I have issues with all of her canon ships just like I have issues with damn near every comic book relationship there is, but something being badly handled in long running books written by a slew of revolving writers with their own interests doesn’t mean it has to be bad in the movies. This may be an unpopular opinion but I have never flat out hated an MCU pairing, I feel indifferent to most of them and genuinely like a handful of them.

Discussion Storm has so many alt timeline baby daddies. Namor, Thor, T’Challa, Gambit, Forge, Cable, Wolverine, etc. Is this normal?
galleryThis is what happens when comic book writers treat her as eye candy and a side piece instead of an actual character. She’s probably the only female superhero that gets this type of treatment. Storm is a well written and interesting character that’s more than just her looks and Marvel writers should treat her as such.

Discussion What’s with the constant Storm hate in the X-Men sub?
I know the X-Men sub is pretty divisive compared to this one, but I’ve been seeing a huge number of anti-Storm posts on that sub. Tons of people complaining about Storm’s recent characterization and power level, and even tons of people deeply despising the idea of her being worshipped as a goddess and having literal magic ancestry via Agamotto and Oshtur. The crazy part is most of the things they complain about when it comes to her is something that’s been established with her character since the 70s-80s. I mean Dave Cockrum literally created her to be the strongest and most beautiful female superhero in Marvel and Chris Claremont said she was equal to Dark Phoenix at full power. Chris Claremont also established her mystical background during the 80s.
I find all of this ironic because I don’t see these same fans have the same energy for Jean who’s quite literally the Phoenix and way more powerful than Storm. At least with Storm she was worshipped as a goddess and was always a powerhouse in her debut appearance. Jean on the other hand was introduced as a low level telepath and telekinetic back in 1963 and she didn’t become the Phoenix until 1976. You can even make an argument she was the weakest member of the OG 5 back in the 60s before Giant-Size X-Men. I see so many fans in the X-Men sub vouching for Storm to not be a goddess, not be able to control the cosmos, not having magic, nor having an Elder goddess form and would rather she just be a weather manipulating mutant who’s only tied to the X-Men but I never see these same people vouch for the literal redhead who’s an immortal invincible omnipotent cosmic entity to just be a telepathic and telekinetic mutant. Even Scarlet Witch before she became a reality warping sorceress and Nexus being who can do practically anything was first introduced as a mutant who could manipulate probability on a low level.
My thing is if they’re going to complain about Storm being powerful, they might as well do it with every super powerful X-Men such as Jean, Iceman, Rogue, Legion, Nate Grey, Magneto, Hope, etc. Even them complaining about Storm becoming a host of Eternity makes no sense because we all knew that was going to be a temporary power-up that wasn’t going to last and that’s no different from Jean becoming WPOTC, Hulk becoming TOBA, Thor becoming Rune King/Cosmic King, Iron Man gaining the Power Cosmic, Cyclops becoming Dark Phoenix, etc. Storm is the only X-Men character who gets these kind of complaints from her own fanbase on a daily basis which makes no sense because she was always meant to be a very powerful character and it’s not like she’s a Mary Sue. She loses and struggles constantly despite having that kind of power.

Comics High Ratio comics
galleryI'm an avid collector of variant Storm covers. Over that last couple years we have gotten some great covers thanks to artist like Jeehyung Lee, Ben Oliver and Pablo Villalobos. But the highest ratio I've been able to locate is 1:200 which is the X-Men of Apocalypse #1 . It is a nice cover but 1:200 is just the cover Joe Madureira made in a different tint.
Recently for DNX #1 both Magik and Beast got high ratio covers. The Magik was 1:200 and the Beast was a crazy 1:500. I checked but can't find any info, does anyone know of any other high ratio covers for Storm?
I have most of her 1:25 and good percentage of her 1:50 and 1:100. I'm hoping Midnight X-Men will give her a high ratio cover since they are pushing the Midnight Universe so hard.
I've attached some of my favorite covers and the 1:200 . Are their any covers you deem as must haves ? Older ones included .

Discussion Do you think humans and some mutants are scared of Storm?
She's one of the strongest mutants on Earth, and her weather powers mean that she can attack people without them ever seeing her. And this is before you get into her mystical bloodline, which means she's not your regular, everyday, powerful mutant.
Do you think Humanity, and some weaker mutants, are scared of Storm and the power she holds?
