✍️ Brief Description:

The Air Jordan 5 Retro “Halloween” HQ7978-001 comes in a Black, Picante Red and Glow In The Dark colorway built around a premium black nubuck upper. The dark construction is contrasted by Picante Red accents and glow-in-the-dark elements that reinforce the Halloween-inspired theme.

The sneaker retains signature details from the original 1990 Air Jordan 5, including net-inspired tongue and quarter panels, lace locks, a bump-out collar and the recognizable jagged midsole design. Nike Air cushioning is incorporated into the heel and forefoot, with a foam midsole and grippy rubber outsole completing the construction.

✍️ My Opinion:

These are really hot right now. I really like this version because the mostly black construction gives the Jordan 5 a clean and aggressive look, and the Halloween details add character without making the sneaker feel overly themed. The black nubuck is probably my favorite part because it gives the upper a soft matte texture and makes the different panels and stitching easier to appreciate up close. The toebox has that familiar rounded Jordan 5 shape, and I like how the netting, lace locks and padded ankle sections preserve the bulky original profile. The Picante Red detailing is used in just the right amount and creates a strong contrast against all the black, and the glow in the dark elements make the pair much more interesting once the lighting changes. I also like that the jagged midsole remains one of the main visual features because it gives the shoe that unmistakable Jordan 5 look from the side. Overall, the combination of black nubuck, red accents and subtle glow details works really well for me. For fit, I’d stick with your normal Air Jordan size.
