Had to have the fire department and Midamerican come out tonight for a gas leak. They shut off the gas and once it came back on I can’t get my pilot light to stay on in my water heater. I’m told it could potentially be a thermo coupler issue or it could be a bad water heater which wouldn’t surprise me as the one I currently have is from 2004. Hello, I'm 18 years old and currently studying economics in college. Recently, South Dakota(specifically Sioux Falls) has caught my attention, and I've been seriously interested in learning more about the state and potentially moving there in the future.

Before making any decisions, I'd love to hear from people who actually live there. I might visit there next spring to know the state :)

I have three main questions:

1. Finance and economics job market: Are there good career opportunities in finance, banking, economics, or related fields? How difficult is it for someone starting their career to find a decent job? Are there particular cities you'd recommend?

2. Cost of living: How affordable is South Dakota compared to other states? I'm especially curious about average rent, starting salaries, groceries, utilities, and general living expenses. Can a young professional realistically live comfortably there?

3. People and social life: Are people generally friendly and welcoming to newcomers? Is it easy to make friends and build connections, especially as a young person moving from another state?

I'm not expecting everything to be perfect. I'm genuinely interested in hearing both the positives and negatives of living in South Dakota. I watched a few videos and I really liked the vibes, so I want to see if it really like that in real life(I'm a big nature guy)

Do you have to actually have at least an undergraduate degree to be a sub for the school district? I want to apply to be a sub, but it requires you to enter in information about an undergraduate degree.

My mother told me that there was a hippie kind of restaurant she went to around 1976 in the current location of Mr. Goodcents. Does anyone remember what the restaurant was before?
