I parked at the Dora Jordan Trailhead around 1pm and half a mile from parking I was assaulted by a skinny hispanic dude, maybe late teens early 20s. He grabbed my ass and when i confronted him tried to hit me with his water bottle, kick me, and grab me. I did call the police but he ran away and again I was half a mile away from my car. If you have any idea who this could be please let me know so I can contact SAPD again.

Got an aerial tour of SA today (without intending to)

I fly to Dallas for work pretty often, and coming back we almost always fly in over the Rim and Shavano Park. Every once in a while the winds change things up and we come in from the south and on those days with the right seat you get a nice tour of some familiar areas around town. Usually get an aisle seat, but happened to get a window seat today. Perfect timing!

Zoom in! The lighting from the cloudy weather kinda washes everything out, but once you zoom in, it’s pretty cool spotting all the familiar streets, buildings and neighborhoods from up there.

Figured y’all might enjoy!

1) Downtown Tower of Americas and Alamo looking northwest.
2) Confluence Park and Southtown looking northwest. Kind of neat to see the confluence of the San Pedro Creek with the San Antonio River.
3) Kelly Airfield / Port San Antonio
4) Elmendorf Lake / Our Lady of the Lake University looking east
5) Woodlawn lake looking southeast with downtown in the horizon
6) Edison High School looking southeast.
7) Olmos Basin Golf Course and the Quarry looking east

Who threw the heel at Rico Nasty?

Pretty much the title, someone threw their heel at Rico during the song Smack a B**ch. She complained about it and then stormed off stage. Hope that person has a horrible night.

56 million on chrome books?

It’s mind-boggling that NISD is asking us for hundreds of millions while burning tens of millions on 1-to-1 Chromebooks.

If you’ve seen how students actually treat these devices, you know it’s a waste. We need to go back to pre-2014 standards less screen dependency, fewer kids using AI to bypass critical thinking, and more actual teaching.

On top of that, NISD expects taxpayers to bail them out via a VATRE while blowing public funds on administrative incompetence like paying double superintendent costs after extending John Craft's contract only to end up paying out a costly buyout/transition.

Moving to SA Im moving to San Antonio with my girlfriend from New braunfels

So after a finicial crisis my sister took me in and my girlfriend rented a room near by in new braunfels. She works at 711 making 12 an hour an occasional overtime. Im making 14 an hour with overtime. We together have about 3.5k saved up. My sister is ready for me to go. I have no car. We are looking at places but what would be our best bet to make this a smooth landing. I know its going to be a struggle but san antonio I know the bus routes so does she. We dont have a car so staying in new braunfels wont work. We both will have to find new jobs but have to find them when we get there. Any advice ?

Please help us find our in-laws’ doggie. She’s a poodle mix rescue named Bella and she got out while we let her out in the yard to pee and the gate was opened by the wind. She’s also missing an eye and is very skittish. DM me with any info please.

Where in SA? How are people in their mid-20s making friends in San Antonio?

My girlfriend and I are both 25 and live downtown San Antonio. We’ve honestly had a harder time than expected making friends since moving here.

We both had pretty active social lives in college and never really struggled to meet people, but San Antonio has been a different experience. We’re both pretty laid-back, respectful, and social people who enjoy going out, trying new restaurants and bars, and just having a good time.

We’ve met some cool people here and there, but haven’t really found a group or even a few friends we naturally click with. Sometimes we wonder if San Antonio just isn’t our vibe, but we also don’t want to give up on the city without making more of an effort.

We’re not necessarily looking for lifelong best friends or a huge friend group. It would just be nice to have some people around our age to grab drinks with, go out on weekends, or make spontaneous plans every now and then.
For those of you in your 20s, especially those who moved here after college, how did you go about building a social circle? Are there certain places, activities, or events where you’ve had luck meeting people?

I love and respect trolling, but would genuinely appreciate any suggestions!

I’m driving from out of town for a show tomorrow and was going to prepay for parking but I saw this ….”parking is $22 but there’s no security so would you like to pay extra for insurance when your shit is inevitably fucked with”?

Is my car going to be safe at this venue what is the deal here? Should I park somewhere safer and uber ?

Anyone have plastic storage bins you’re willing to part with? Preferably 20-40 gallons? I’m making outdoor houses for my neighborhood kitties for the winter.

Where in SA? Rolando's Super Taco on the south-side sucks now

I'm talking about the one down off military on Shasta Ave. It's now under new management, and they messed it all up.

This Rolando's USED to have amazing super tacos. I've been getting them since I was a boy. Specifically, the bacon egg and cheese. Lots of cheese. Really good thick bacon. They would be playing good old San Antonio classic rock. It was amazing. Up until now.

What I had today was by far the skimpiest super taco I've ever seen, especially considering the price has gone up. Not enough eggs or cheese or bacon. And I had paid for extra bacon. The bacon I got was thin. Had no texture. It basically just disappeared. They need an option for thick bacon. Charge me more. I don't care about that. Just need my taco done right!

Plus, the taco was cold. The cheese wasn't even melted. And that's after it took 15 minutes to get my one taco. They used to be so quick. I would usually get my taco within a minute or two.

Also, their salsa verde was warm for some reason. I know they do warm salsas, but I was asking for my salsa verde for my taco. The verde's never been warm like that before. And it tasted weird. I don't think it's usually cooked like that. It looked almost brown.

Also, the atmosphere was way off. Usually they play classic rock, which I love. Today they had nothing playing. It was just the sounds of children crying and watching shows on their tablets.

I really hate this. This was one of my favorite taco spots. I really, really hope they fix it.

I just found out I will be staying overnight 10/23 close to the riverwalk (9 min away walking ) and I would like to attend the parade. This will be a solo adventure.

Should I purchase a seat and if so in what area should I sit? Thank you!

First time in Tx

Hello everyone!

My partner and I, both in our late 20s, are visiting San Antonio for a conference during Halloween week.
We're excited to explore the city and would love recommendations for restaurants, nightlife, LGBTQ+ spaces, gay bars, and any local favorites.

We're also considering spending a day in Austin, so suggestions for things to do there are welcome as well.
We're always happy to meet new people, so if anyone would like to connect, send me a message. Thanks in advance!
