Silverfield didn't say much, but the fact that he answered the question at all is a change of tune. The only way for Arkansas to prove its made changes is with a better transfer-portal recruiting class this offseason. https://www.swtimes.com/story/sports/college/sec/2026/10/21/arkansas-football-board-of-trustees-review-ryan-silverfield/92361103007/

Arkansas let the local media come talk to the basketball players for 20 minutes today. I asked every player I spoke with a simple question: What stands out about Jordan Smith?
Here's some insight into his first impressions on campus. https://www.swtimes.com/story/sports/college/sec/2026/10/20/arkansas-basketball-jordan-smith-jr-teammates-defense-nba-draft/92339766007/

I am pretty impressed (and honestly surprised) at how much fight this football team has. We are pretty low skill, with all new coaches, a horrific reputation, a loser mentality - and this year, one of the least supportive fan bases in the country (at least in the minority of social media users)
But by God this team refuses to lie down. Even last year we really ran out of steam down the stretch, and that was a much better team. These guys fight so hard every game, put up a fight against Georgia, almost took down Tennessee, and hung around through all the hate and boos to grab their first SEC win in two years, on the road no less.
Yeah it was vandy, but they easily could have accepted a terrible season and called it quits. Props to RS for rallying the guys, and shoutout the dudes on the field who refuse to give up.

KJ looked much better last night, but Curtis is a true freshman and I think would be a great grab in the portal if we can snag him. I can't imagine he stays at Vandy next year.
Chances are he'll head to Georgia, though.

721 days without an SEC win and we finally got one! Great win today. Lot of heart from this team. Hopefully Chris Marshall is alright. Defense played great! Woo pig!

Silverfield spent 80% of his time fundraising for the football team. How much better would the hogs be on Saturday if that time was used for coaching and recruiting? Why donât we hire Houston Nutt to lead fundraising?

Whether he gets pissed off/yells â I truly donât care. But the dude just isnât coaching.
Watch any other game on TV today â coaches coaching up their players, talking to the ref, high fiving their players. Doing SOMETHING. This dude doesnât even talk into the headset.

I have a feeling today! Go Hogs beat Vandy!
r/razorbacks • u/Quirky-Appearance-65 • 5d ago
Short answer, NO. Main reasons: (lack of) Offense and Road Game.
If the game is here in Fayetteville AR, I would perhaps give them more than 50% chance of winning, maybe by a field goal. Unfortunately, it is a road game, and the team is known to suck for road games (lopsided loss to a mediocre Texas AM Team). In particular, the bad offense will eventually suck the all team down to a loss.

What if Arkansas, or any school, paid out minimal NIL for three years and then every fourth year, they spend it all to try to win big. Arkansas' football NIL is about 23.4 million, according to thenilstandard.com So for example, the Hogs banked 15 million a year for three years in a row and then on the fourth they would have 68.4 million to buy the best of the best?
Would that break some NIL rule?
I'd be down with Arkansas only being competitive once every four years, as opposed to never being competitive.

Wrote a little column about the Hogs' mindset entering the 2026-27 hoops season. Everyone on the roster has some outside doubts they want to dispel, while Calipari wants to prove he can still win big with a team primarily made up of freshmen. What do y'all think? Is Arkansas too young to win a natty? https://www.swtimes.com/story/sports/college/sec/2026/10/15/arkansas-basketball-john-calipari-prove-doubters-wrong/92255076007/

We reached out to the Marion RB and got a little more insight from him on his decision to decommit.

Visiting UConn/Furman fan here with a question - I saw a post on the general college basketball sub that has Coop as your starting center. Is that what you all expect to open the season and how do you think he'll do?
He was great at Furman but was often the biggest guy on the court against other mid majors. Whenever we played against high majors he really struggled inside. See: tournament game against Tarris Reid where he got absolutely bodied.
While I wish Furman had a chance to keep our guys, in the current college sports landscape I get it and I hope the players who go on to bigger things from our program find success.
