October 19 9:35 PM I cried twice because mother claimed not to be my "enemy." Then she made the dog uncomfortable.

It's been a while now recommending a suicide prevention hotline, psychologists or psychiatrists has largely become synonymous with absolving oneself of responsibility.

A move by those who seek to protect themselves rather than others, and who lack the courage to tackle the problem at its root. It’s a structural problem, so entrenched precisely because ordinary people don’t even grasp how serious it actually is.

They make assumptions: Mental suffering? Go see a psychologist. Call the suicide prevention folks. Problem solved. Done and dusted.

There is no shortage of evidence and reports demonstrating that this is ineffective and harmful.

And the person who suffers the most is that one depressed individual who has already tried everything over and over again and continues to hear exactly the same things from others, as if they were what? Deaf or stupid?

Now, we no longer directly say that depressed people are lazy, that it's their fault. What we do today is give a generic recommendation that people have heard thousands of times and be surprised when it doesn't help at all.

When people understand that it is thede people who end up killing themselves, and not those who are actually able to benefit from conventional treatment, the suicide epidemic will finally end. Will that ever happen?

The truth is, no matter how brutally useless psychologists can be for me, whatever the method, even though I was willing, motivated and often desperate for help, all I ever hear is that same old line, "seek a psychologist.", "call de prevention hotline."

Hardly anyone or anything ever bothered to even listen to my words before immediately firing off that stock, empty answer, which over time became synonymous with scorn. With everything I said at the start of this post.

The only I'm writing this is because I carry a very strong feeling of resentment about all of this, but also to bring understanding to some people.

I hope that you, reading this, have the least bit of empathy, and try to communicate to other people. Otherwise this whole matter will keep being neglected, because what's bad and everyone knows it, it's already being fought against. What's bad and no one knows it, and even continues to replicate the very bad action, is what is actually destroying our society from the inside out. Thank you.

In my country of Romania, 0.1% of the population is in jail, 0.1% in long term psychiatric hospitals, 0.3% in slavery (conservatorship) and 1.7% chemically lobotomized on neuroleptics. All these 3 procedures are illegal to practice on inmates in the European Union. In some western european countries it's still practiced illegally on inmates but not in Romania. The wrongfully convicted rate for inmates is 15% in USA, way lower in the rest of the world due to the usage of civil law. In other words, there are 17 times more people tortured by psychiatry than there are inmates in RO, and they have not even been acused of a crime. In USA, these numbers are way, way higher. Also, we have 2% antidepressant usage and 1% people describing themselves as depressed, compared to 17% and 40% in USA. Italy also has the same numbers as RO and the rest of eastern europe. Psychiatry is strongest in protestant countries, same as PC idiology, a form of atheism+same puritan behaviour of the protestant religious fundamentalist.

As much as I hate psychiatry, it's hard not to notice the irony of this field. The people who end up in psychiatry hands are almost always the ones that actually deserve it. Why do I say that?

1. Few people know but the current bioreductionism that replaced freudianism and is still in power was actually created by a bunch of hippies in the 60s that wanted to use the good drugs (mushrooms, LSD, etc.) in psychiatry. Unfortunatelly, religious fundamentalist did not allow that. They said that you're only allowed to treat human suffering using drugs with no pleasant effect. Something obviously stupid. And that's how we ended up with drugs that only make people sleep or be like zombies. Drugs that don't beat placebo on any real or invented disorder. Drugs with zero street value. There has even been a rare case of a drug that beat placebo with 75% to 23% on PTSD, an insane percentage for a field where nothing beats placebo. That drug was MDMA and it was removed from psychiatry in the 90s due to having a pleasant effect. And that's something that protestant puritanism does not allow.
2. People who end up falling on psychiatry propaganda are exactly the type of bigoted people that would vote for chopping the heads off of weed smokers. They're exactly the conformist, indoctrinated and puritan demographic that say "they're not drugs cause they're from the doctor". The type of people that fall for every propaganda ever invented.
3. The fact that this thing got insanely out of control in USA is karmic too. USA exported the war on drugs to the rest of the world. That war on drugs and discrimination against mexicans in the 30s ended up ruining countless lives from all over the world. The americans are the puritans who believe in the idea that becoming a monk is not something of personal choice, like buddhist and the rest of christians believe, but rather that monkhood should be imposed through force on the whole population, same as muslims believe. Protestant countries are also the champions of witch-hunts, ostracism, finger-pointing and false acusations. Aren't they the kind of people that have sx only in missionary position, with the lights off and no condom, just for procreation, and would chop your head off if you don't do the same? Aren't they the champions of false acusations and wrongful convictions?

As much as I hate this kind of nasty stuff, it's hard not to notice the irony. It's hard not to notice that the people who fall for psychiatry propaganda and get swallen by the system are the exact type of people who actually deserve it. If there wasn't something like psychiatry, they would only get this kind of punishment in their next rebirth. But thankfully, they get it in this very life. They get exactly what they deserve.

And to end in an optimistic note... psychiatry is entering a golden era. SSRIs have gotten out of patent and got replaced with Ketamine and DXM 6 years ago. Everything else except for neuroleptic orwellian injections has been out of patent for a long time. Donald Trump, with Joe Rogan behind him, signed that psychadelics bill this summer. He not only allowed research into the only good drugs that exist but sponsed research with government money and declared them an urgency. Last month (september 2026), Elli Lilly purchased AtaiBeckley for 2.8 billion, the company that produces magic mushrooms, LSD, nasal spray with DMT, etc. Those things will soon replace these religious drugs used right now.

The problem is, what will happen to the big percentage of puritans who continue to deserve the worst of torture and false acusations? Well, those neuroleptic injections, probably the most orwelian thing invented in medicine are in patent till 2040+ and will probably never get replaced even after that. So thanfully, at least some puritans will continue to get what they deserve :)

These programs are not equipped to help people heal from long term mental illness and exist to pad the pockets of insurance companies and reduce liability.

I had a bad experience with every one of these programs that I have ever been a part of and I don’t think I’m alone. I have healed a lot of my mental illness through working a normal job and making healthier friends.

Racism and patriarchy and poverty and capitalism and many such systemic issues contribute a hella lot but everything is mostly biology and genes and such to them. I feel like this is an attempt to put the whole blame on this person or individual rather than the environment they lived in. The system they lived under. Feels like it is deliberate. I created this survey because, during my own inpatient psychiatric stay in New York City, window shades were kept closed, and I was told that staff did not have the keys needed to open them and that this would not change. That experience led me to ask how other patients experienced access to daylight and outdoor views, including when shades were open, partially closed, or completely closed.

Through Open the Shades, I hope to use these experiences to inform advocacy for safe, practical access to natural daylight and outdoor views in common areas of New York City inpatient psychiatric facilities. This concerns opening window shades, not the windows themselves. Positive, negative, and neutral experiences are all welcome.

TO BE CLEAR THIS IN NO WAY CONDONES THE CURRENT STATE OF MENTAL HEALTH AS A REVOLVING PRISON SYSTEM IN AMERICA. This is a small reform that alleviates the impact and writing, distributing, and using it's results to defend opinions about this specific reform (despite the necessary complete upheaval) helps me manage my stress as a survivor.

Essentially I study graphic design and I am currently writing my thesis on Antipsychiatry, Mad Liberation and Consumer/Survivor/Ex-Patient movements. Now you might wonder why I am writing a thesis on this within the field of graphic design?

It’s because I think it’s very important and close to my heart and I’m very tired of the dispersed movements and non-understanding of our struggles in a broader context, so I am theorising that it’s a communication issue and unfortunately that we have fragmented our own movements that overlap in many ways.

Essentially I am talking about these movements in terms of a broader context of hermeneutical injustice, where the language or the collective understanding might be fragmented and therefore does not bring epistemic justice to the collective that have experienced horrific things, but also in terms of testimonial injustice where the subject is rendered irrelevant as a knower due to judgement on their identity as a subject. Further into communication theory, Habermas made a theory comprising of the ”public sphere”, which by Habermas was understood as a way to shape society by having a group of people assembling and forming ”common sense” or consensus. But other communication theorists have argued that there are people that historically and contemporaneously have been excluded from the public sphere and therefore formulated the theory on ”counterpublics” which constitute smaller collectives outside of the conception of the public sphere which can establish their own ways of communication and recognition of one another, such an example would be that at some point the notion of ”sexual harassment” did not exist, and this was formed by counterpublics within women’s circles until it spread into the public sphere.

Now I am applying this theory onto psychiatric survivors, mad people, consumers, ex-patients and so on to bring more accessible counterpublics and hopefully establish a wider recognition to these struggles.

In this search I now have to find a more general symbolic and visual language that can be used to express these zines that I’m planning to make as the actual graphic design part of the thesis, so where can I find this? Are there any symbols associated with us? Any images? Videos? Pop culture? Games?

This is my most urgent question, the second question is, how can I do this fairly and do you have any ideas or want to contribute somehow? My idea is to make some resources on psychiatric drugs, institutionalization, poems, history, stories, radical psychiatry, movement explanations and differences.

1:14 PM mother claimed I'm much more likely to be assaulted by a street criminal than a psychiatrist. Since 2003 rarely has anyone attacked me except poisoners. 4:05 PM left torso spasmed. 6:08 PM Favoritism is a motivation stronger than OCD for mother. Both brothers didn't follow her rules about it raining. If I did that she would've violently threatened to send me to the ward.

October 3 9:45 AM OCD mother claimed not sitting where she wants causes problems, even with napkins. 1:14 PM Stepfather admitted it was him who caused the mess. 1:42 PM she told me not to accept "mediocrity," but doesn't believe she is a malpracticer.

Hello a few months ago I went to a mental hospital for postpartum psychosis. I was diagnosed with acute psychosis due to a side effect after trying out adhd pills.

During my first night I was screaming to let me go home. The nurses warned me if I didn't stop I would be locked in solitary and given a shot in my butt to calm down or knock me out. I kept screaming to be released so they had 5-6 nurses come try to get me. I put up a good fight, not fighting them literally but running away, pulling my arms when they caught me etc.

Here's where I question myself. When the doctor came in to give me a shot, he was no nonsense and he could see I was giving the other nurses a hard time. He pinned me down to the floor, had a knee pushed on my back, stepped on my head and put my hands on my head, and ripped off my bracelet and even some of my hair while grabbing the bracelet. All the pieces went flying everywhere all over the room scattered. I was screaming at the nurses that I have asthma and I couldn't breathe. I literally felt like George Floyd in that moment. Pinned down, asthma wheezing, screaming for help and the nurses just watch.

The next day, the doctor came in to work with a cake for the nurses.. ​like a reward. They also replaced the cameras during my stay. But solitary has no cameras where this took place.

I've told my boyfriend about it and he tells me while it was wrong, what evidence do I have. Did I break a bone or need surgery. I say no but its mental. Mental hospitals have a history of getting away with abuse. I was never a danger to myself or others I never hurt anyone but I was extremely loud and did name calling. I just feel like specifically that doctor should not get away with this. So am I over reacting does this type of thing happen everyday and its normal or am I right to question this doctors authority? Is it even worth going to court?
