Which one should I get rct 1 & 2 or classic and I never grew up with rct,I want give it try.

If anyone remembers the book "Roller Coaster" by David Bennett, it had Mantis at Cedar Point on the cover and growing up I kept trying to recreate the layout, but with no luck. Thanks to some new pieces, I finally got it figured out!

Getting the crosses correct on this layout was always tough, these diagonal pieces and sloped pieces really helped angle things properly to get a complete and accurate layout!

It's June, Year 2. Going for a Roman theme on one side and a mine/spooky forest on the other. With not much space, hills and only a small loan, you have to think ahead!

RCT2 OpenRCT2 for NEW 3DS (v1.0.0)

Hey people, since the last posted exploded on this subreddit and many of you asked for a "release", here it is, published on github. It's a really early release of what this project can be, since there are many improvements to be made on the gameplay and performance:

https://github.com/UhtredOfBamburg/OpenRCT2-3DS/releases/tag/v1.0.0

To make it clear, all of this was made using gemini 3.8 flash high, on antigravity, and used the OpenRCT2 open source code to make the port possible. To my understanding, distributing this code doesn't go against any copyright law, considering each one of you use your own copy of the game.

Also, I need all the help possible to make the next release even better, so I need you guys to play the game and criticize EVERYTHING possible, then I'll ask antigravity to make the necessary changes. And to anyone who actually knows how to code (or knows how to deal with slop AI code) and could help with the project I would really appreciate it, especially for making this port run on old 3ds hardware.

Anyways, thanks for the attention!!!!

Discussion When playing a "real park" what is your ideal goal?

Hypothetically, there is a RCT remake of your favorite real life park. Do you want to build missing rides or would you rather all real rides already be built?

Do you want to expand the park with your own park areas/rides? Reach guest goals? Meet income goals?

RCT CCI Episode 2 - Outlaw (Skip TO 1:14 for the POV)

On Episode 2 of our CCI conversion series, we have Outlaw! The 2nd CCI ever made, and the last one maade by Mike Broodley, who would shortly form Great Coasters International in 1994, a company that later would become one of the leading companies in the wooden roller coaster industry. Many of the elements found on Outlaw would become GCI's signature wooden coaster style, including unconventional twisted drops and twisted layouts.

Outlaw is 67ft tall, has a top speed of 48mph and a length of 2,800ft. It is located in Adventureland over in Altoona, Iowa. Adventureland was created in 1974 by businessman Jack Krantz, who sought to replicate the feel of Disneyland California to the people of Iowa. He also took inspiration from Six Flags Over Texas. Soon after it expanded, with various rides, coasters, games and hotels. Adventure Bay (Their water park) opened in 2008.

In 2021 a subsidiary of Parque Reunidos named Palace Entertainment aquired Adventureland in 2021, where they operated it for 4 years. In 2025, Palace did a deal with Herschend where all their American theme parks would be sold to the company. This park is included in that deal. Herschend continues to operate it to this day.

This recreation spans roughly 1km around the coaster. So this means you will see Saw Mill Splash recreated, part of the Adventure Bay water park, as well as a Cameo of Tornado, a William Cobb designed wooden coaster from 1978.

I hope you enjoy my recreation! See you on Episode 3, where i tackle the woodies of Indiana Beach!

RCT2 [Discussion] Having issue with stats on Roller Coasters changing?

I have two roller coasters that I meticulously designed to have as much excitement as possible. They have pretty high intensity, but under 10.

The problem is after many years of being open they crashed due to not being block chain or 1 too many trains, so usually I just delete a station platform piece, rebuild that piece, adjust trains or switched to block chain, and re-opened.

But with the same exact tracks the intensity has jumped above 10, and now the excitement has taken a hit.

Not sure why. I was under the impression the stats were deterministic, but it seems like sometimes, less likely to occur, but there is a "swing" to it.

Any thoughts?

I even tried switching all settings to exactly as it was before the crashes, with of course the exact same trakck, and it still registers too high of an intensity.

Would fellow fans be interested in more designs?

Hey guys, been playing RCT Deluxe since not long after its first release. Been a long time fan of the game and it will always hold a special place in my heart.

I've been making some designs for RCT art for some time, and uploaded one for sale on Etsy. I don't want to just go and post my shop on here but my question is, would you guys be interested in seeing my design?

Not my video. But I didn’t recall seeing anyone bring this up at all. It’s a fairly ambitious project and I just really thought his channel deserved a lot more love.

Again, major props to the OpenRCT2 team for all their new custom features to this game. It's a whole new ball game with new pieces, lighting packages, etc.

Classic White Water Park

Hi everyone, first post here in the community. I am a long-time fan of RCT having picked it up in the early 00’s, RCT2 understandably became my absolute favourite, I tried RCT3 and later on Planet Coaster but RCT2 is the one that pulls me back in.

After Classic released on iOS a new wave of nostalgia kicked in, and I thought I would work my way through each scenario, which I have completed quite a few of now, but for whatever reason I felt the need to continue on with the White Water Park scenario, the park to me just seemed to get more satisfying to look at as time went on and I built up each area.

So fast forward to year 160 and I have now just about filled the entire park where I think if I did any more it would become a bit too much. I am currently hovering around 3000 guests and £4.5m in the bank, this is all in RCT Classic, no custom track or scenery which to be honest would be amazing if it did make it onto mobile!

I have attached screenshots of each rotation of the full park, let me know what you think, and if you want to see any close-ups/ videos of individual coasters!

RCT2 Y'all liked the Torment Nexus, it seems; I've made my fair share of others, and some actual serious parks, but I thought I'd share a few other *silly* things before posting about the real parks!

Its always Bernice c or Cynthia c EVEN EVERY CUSTOM MAP IVE EVER MADE has the first guests have THIS name i first thought it was a coincidence but now im thinking it might be in the code....

RCT2 The Elemental Challenge, from one of my old parks:

Post image
253 Upvotes

So we've all seen the Torment Nexus, or its equivalents in this game, but while looking through old screenshots I thought I'd share one of mine! I called this one The Elemental Challenge. Unlike most Torment Nexuses in this game though, this one actually has a way out.

The idea was guests would have to voluntarily go through six 3D cinema rides in a row to reach the end, but with a twist: If you don't IMMEDIATELY move onto the next 3D cinema, you get reset to the beginning of the prior one.

The exit for each ride would dump you onto a single tile facing the next queueing line, but if they didn't get in line on the first try, they'd get dumped onto a one-way path back to the previous 3D cinema entrance. And if you lose the will to watch any further 3D theater movies before the end, you'll be stuck there forever.

So... The first issue I had with this was probably something I should have anticipated: Apparently the kind of guests who go to 3D theaters REALLY LOVE 3D THEATERS.

They kept failing to progress by navigating directly back to the one they just saw right after exiting. Like... There is another one right there, but you want to go see "Earth" a fifth time? So I had to remove the 'penalty' option or people would have doomed themselves in a way that was inconsistent with the spirit of the challenge.

So my biggest takeaway in the end was "Who the Hell loves 3D theaters THIS much?", because it was... Wildly successful. I had like 40 people get all the way through before the first guest actually got stuck, and there were SEVERAL people who got all the way through and immediately went "I'LL FUCKIN' DO IT AGAIN." That's who you see queueing for "Light" in the screenshot: The repeat victor club.

There is animated scenery in the expansions, but im pretty sure you can probably make a scene with them, I mean, a guy made an animation in roblox in CAC (catalog avatar creator) which is a game of making AVATARS. That's pure madness!!!
