Sulky

Does anyone here have a sulky for driving your "ponygirl" or "ponyboy"? Did you make it yourselves or buy it? I’d be interested to know, as I might want to get one in the near future. Maybe you have some example photos of your sulky?

Pic 1: Two draft beasts working together to haul a plow on a goblin farm. Pairing new ponygirls with experienced ones helps them learn the ropes and accept their new place. The seasoned pony doesn't seem too happy with her new stablemate's work ethic. Give it some time, soon she'll be grunting and straining in unison, her mind fully where it should be on the task at hand - to pull!

Pic 2: A few years later, both the draft beasts are up and eager to get to a day's hard work. Thanks to the experienced girl's training, the new beast is loving her new life of hard working days followed by passionate nights in the stable with her stall-mate. Thoughts of escape have long faded, and she is now much happier for it.

What would make this human bronc-buster even more pony tack? Would replacing the vertical handle with a saddle horn do it?

Serious question, because apparently I have reached the point in my leatherworking career where I'm engineering saddles for people. 😂

This is my Owned Riding Harness, and I'd genuinely like some input from people actually involved in pony play: if you could change or add something to this design specifically for pony use, what would it be?

The big rear handle is heavily inspired by my time around rodeo. I didn't want a decorative little handle riveted onto an otherwise normal harness. I wanted something substantial enough to fill the hand, padded, structurally integrated into the back panel, and designed from the beginning as part of the harness.

There's currently the large horizontal handle across the shoulders and a vertical handle down the back. Looking at it now, though, I'm wondering whether that vertical handle is an opportunity.

Saddle horn? Different grip? Additional rings? Reins attachment? Something I haven't thought of?

Because I make these individually, I'm not particularly married to one configuration. Leather color, split-buckskin lining, stitching, hardware, embossing and fit are already customizable. If someone wanted their version configured differently for their particular style of pony play, I can redesign attachment points or components rather than just changing colors.

This particular one is black leather with red stitching and lining, black hardware, personalized back embossing, and several attachment points. I've also made the same basic harness in burgundy English bridle and brass, and the personality changes dramatically with the materials.

They're built bespoke to the wearer rather than S/M/L, and they're intended to be actual functional gear, not costume leather that happens to look like tack.

I do make these as part of Royal Star Leather and commissions are open, so I'm not going to pretend this isn't something I sell.

But that's not really why I'm posting this one.

I'm already thinking about the next evolution of it, and this seems like exactly the group that should tell me:

What would you add, remove, move, or completely redesign to make this more useful as actual pony tack?

And yes, “give the human saddle a fucking saddle horn” is currently on the table. 😂

I'm doing a bit of internet archaeology around PetAndPonyGirls.com, an old UK-based petplay/ponyplay subscription site that was active for many years before disappearing around 2017.

I used to be a big fan of the site, especially because of the quality and variety of the petplay/ponyplay gear they used.

I’m also active in the petplay community on social media today, and I would love to reconnect with people who remember PetAndPonyGirls, followed the site back then, knew any of the people involved, or simply remember some of the equipment they used.

I've been researching old archives, tweets, model profiles, company records and old ponyplay websites, and I've managed to piece together quite a bit.

I'm posting everything I've found so far in the hope that someone here can fill in some of the missing pieces.

What was PetAndPonyGirls?

PetAndPonyGirls.com was a subscription website focused on female petplay and ponyplay models.

An old 2009 Model Mayhem casting call from Kantaka Photography describes the site as featuring petplay and ponyplay, including kitten, puppy and bunny sets, animal masks, collars, leads, bondage, cages, leather restraints, rope harnesses and other gear.

Kantaka Photography

One of the biggest things I found is that PetAndPonyGirls appears to have been operated/produced by Kantaka Photography Ltd in the UK.

Old archived PetAndPonyGirls pages carried the copyright notice for Kantaka Photography, and the site's compliance information also referred to Kantaka Photography Ltd.

Kantaka Photography Limited was a real UK company:

Company number: 06833974

Incorporated: 2 March 2009

Business: Other specialist photography

Dissolved: 23 August 2016

Companies House:

The filing history is particularly interesting.

On 28 May 2016 an application was submitted to strike the company off the register.

On 7 June 2016 the first Gazette notice for voluntary strike-off was published.

On 23 August 2016 Kantaka Photography Ltd was officially dissolved via voluntary strike-off.

That doesn't prove why PetAndPonyGirls disappeared, but the timing is interesting considering the website reportedly went offline in 2017.

cPony remembers PetAndPonyGirls

Another really interesting source is cPony.com, one of the older ponyplay information/resources sites.

The person behind cPony was actually a PetAndPonyGirls subscriber.

Their old reviews section says:

PetAndPonyGirls was one of the subscription sites they felt actually justified its cost because of the quality and frequency of the content.

Models I've identified so far

This is one of the areas where I'd really love help from anyone who remembers the site.

✅ Chayse Black

Chayse Black definitely appeared on PetAndPonyGirls.

The old official u/PetandPonyGirls account repeatedly tagged u/chayseblack, often together with Faye Taylor in puppy, bunny and other petplay sets.

I have also found two current X accounts that MAY possibly have some connection:

Faye Taylor is also definitely confirmed.

The official PetAndPonyGirls account repeatedly tagged u/fayextaylor, often appearing with Chayse Black.

Ariel Anderssen is another confirmed PetAndPonyGirls model.

This one has a particularly good source because Ariel herself mentioned PetAndPonyGirls in her own blog.

In a blog post dated 30 March 2013, while discussing her modelling work, she listed PetAndPonyGirls among the bondage/fetish producers she had worked for.

So Ariel's involvement is directly confirmed by Ariel herself.

✅ Roswell

Another model used by PetAndPonyGirls was Roswell.

One particularly interesting PetAndPonyGirls set/post featured Roswell wearing a latex straight-jacket from Westward Bound.

More about that gear below.

If anyone remembers Roswell's full modelling name, profiles or other appearances, I'd love to know more.

Another model I believe appeared on the site was:

She also appears to have used the name Tillie Feather / Tillie Model.

However, I haven't yet found as strong a surviving primary source connecting her to PetAndPonyGirls as I have for Chayse, Faye and Ariel.

So for now I'm marking Tillie as:

likely / remembered, but looking for confirmation.

PetAndPonyGirls gear I've identified

This is probably the part of the research I'm most interested in.

PetAndPonyGirls seemed to use some very high-quality and sometimes quite unusual gear.

I've been trying to identify the original manufacturers.

✅ Fury Fantasy — Leather Pony Bridle / Head Harness

One of the strongest identifications comes directly from the old PetAndPonyGirls Twitter account.

They posted an eBay listing described as:

Leather Pony Bridle by Fury Fantasy

So we know that at least one of the bridles/head harnesses owned and used by PetAndPonyGirls came from Fury Fantasy.

The interesting part is that Fury Fantasy still exists.

I'm very curious to see whether they remember the site.

✅ Fleet Ilya — Dog Mask

PetAndPonyGirls also used a Dog Mask made by Fleet Ilya.

This isn't just based on the mask looking similar — PetAndPonyGirls themselves credited the Dog Mask to Fleet Ilya in their post.

The modern mask is still made from saddlery leather and is handmade in England.

It's fascinating that some of the exact companies whose gear appeared on PetAndPonyGirls are still operating today.

This might be one of the most interesting pieces.

PetAndPonyGirls owned a pair of the famous Kayser / Reactor Rubber ponyplay hoof boots.

The old PetAndPonyGirls account later advertised them on eBay as:

cPony has a detailed review/history of Reactor Hoof Boots and specifically mentions PetAndPonyGirls as a notable example of a ponygirl site that sold an old pair of Reactor boots.

That's particularly useful because it independently confirms the PetAndPonyGirls equipment sale.

Reactor Rubber was previously associated with Kaysers Novelty, and the original boots have long since been discontinued.

cPony describes them as having a distinctive realistic hoof-shaped lower section and considers them some of the best ponyplay hoof boots produced.

Other PetAndPonyGirls gear sold later

Something else that really caught my attention is that the old official PetAndPonyGirls account appears to have sold off a collection of its equipment through eBay.

Before posting the items, the account replied to someone saying they had just listed a few "bits and bobs" on eBay.

The equipment advertised immediately around this included:

Again, I don't yet know who manufactured it.

This is one of the pieces I'd really like to identify because some of the PetAndPonyGirls harness designs were very distinctive.

Confirmed both by PetAndPonyGirls and independently mentioned by cPony.

Was this an equipment sell-off before the site closed?

This is one of the big questions I have.

At some point late in the site's history, PetAndPonyGirls was clearly selling a number of pieces of its old production gear:

white leather harness set

Kayser/Reactor hoof boots

Then:

2016 — Kantaka Photography Ltd was voluntarily dissolved

and according to cPony:

2017 — PetAndPonyGirls went offline

I don't want to jump to conclusions.

Selling the gear does not necessarily mean they had already decided to close.

But the sequence is interesting.

That would be an incredible connection.

Was there ever an official announcement?

Did the owners simply decide to leave the industry?

We know Kantaka Photography Ltd was involved, but I'd love to hear from someone who actually knew the production or people involved.

1. Who manufactured ALL of the head harnesses?

Were some custom-made?

I'm mainly interested in preserving a little piece of petplay/ponyplay internet history that seems to be disappearing.

PetAndPonyGirls was around for years, worked with established fetish models, used gear from some very interesting manufacturers, and clearly had its own little community.

It would be a shame for all of that history to simply disappear.
