/u/ZeroOne_01 set up a Peugeot discord server which is relatively active. They have experience with servicing Peugeots and Citroens and may be able to answer any technical questions you have.

I've had to make this new post as you can't sticky links.

Anyway here's the discord invite link:

3 cylinder PSA engines (EB series) warranty (Oiled belt) UPDATE

Hi everyone! On the Spanish CarWOW channel they just broke news about a new warranty extension to all 3 cylinder petrol PSA Puretech engines, the ones with the oiled belt decomposition issues. They'll be extending the warranty to 10 years or 170k km as long as you have done the service intervals in time (and can prove it with invoices and such) without the need to had have them done at the official dealership as it is illegal under EU law to do so in order to void warranties.

The video specifies that the engine will be covered for that amount, as well as a new change for the service interval of the belt. Also, it only affects the 3 cylinder variants, and will be retroactive, with the last engine covered being from summer 2022, when hybrid tech was launched.

There is no information on what will happen to those who carried out the proper maintenance intervals and still got a huge repair bill; if that money will be reimbursed or not.

Peugeot 208 (2021) Bosch RCC – Bass disappears after using Siri or phone calls (possible DSP bug)

Hi everyone,
I’m experiencing a strange audio issue with my 2021 Peugeot 208 (Bosch RCC infotainment system), and I’m wondering if anyone else has noticed the same problem or found a permanent fix.

Whenever the microphone is activated, for example during a phone call, Siri, or voice commands through Apple CarPlay, the sound quality changes significantly afterward. The bass almost completely disappears, and the music sounds flat, thin, and almost like it’s playing through a telephone speaker.

My suspicion is that the RCC system gets stuck in some kind of hands-free/call audio profile and fails to switch the DSP (Digital Signal Processing) back to the normal music profile.

However, I’ve discovered a workaround that works consistently for me:
If I open the audio settings and change the sound focus/balance from “All passengers” to “Driver” or “Front”, and then switch it back, the bass immediately returns and the sound quality is completely normal again.

Interestingly, after doing this once, the problem doesn’t come back, even if I use Siri or make another phone call during the same drive. Everything works perfectly until I turn the car off and start it again later.

This makes me suspect a software-related DSP initialization or audio profile switching bug rather than a hardware problem with the speakers.
Has anyone else experienced this on a Peugeot 208, e-208, Opel Corsa F, or another Stellantis vehicle equipped with the Bosch RCC system?

Has anyone found a permanent solution, such as a specific firmware update, software configuration change, or another workaround?
I’ve already come across several reports of similar issues, so it seems I’m not the only one affected. Hopefully, if more owners report the same behavior, Peugeot will eventually acknowledge and investigate it.
I’d really appreciate hearing about your experiences, especially if you’ve managed to fix it without replacing the infotainment unit.
Thanks!

What could be wrong with my 307?

Hi everyone! Three months ago, I received a 2004 Peugeot 307 (1.6 HDi, 110 hp) from a relative. It’s my first car, and I’m still quite inexperienced. Since then, I’ve had the timing belt replaced, all filters changed, an oil change, and the car was prepped for its technical inspection—which it passed. I haven’t noticed anything unusual; it doesn’t smoke, doesn’t consume oil, or anything like that. It has 322,000 km on the clock. Fortunately, I’ve developed the good habit of checking the fluid levels once a week. Everything was fine until now—for months, none of the fluid levels changed at all. However, a week ago, I noticed that the coolant level had dropped almost to the minimum mark, while the oil level is higher than where it was originally filled. My immediate, panicked reaction was: "Oh my god, the cylinder head is gone!" Unfortunately, I don’t have the money to get it fixed right now. Naturally, I’m not driving it in this condition. I asked an AI for its take, and it gave a surprising answer: it suggested that cracks in the cylinder head or engine block are actually quite rare for this engine. Instead, it’s more likely that the oil cooler has failed—allowing coolant to leak into the oil—or perhaps it’s a blown head gasket. Has anyone else experienced this with this specific car and engine type? What could be the problem?

(Sorry for any spelling errors; I used Google Translate, I am Hungarian)

I am after some advice. One of my headlight lamps has failed. I’ve replaced it with a H1 and it’s still not working but all other lighting is working. Is there anything I can check?

2015 308 1.2 petrol stalling at idle?

i've had my 308 for 9 years and what a ride it has been...

At 55k I had a whole engine replacement due to the wet belt disintegrating.

500 miles into the new engine it had an engine warning light which then the garage destroyed my ECU in the processs.

This summer I had the car serviced as per yearly (now at 80k miles) and everything was fine. A few hundred miles later I walked outside to see petrol pouring down the road due to one of the hoses coming off my fuel pump. After reconnecting my car wouldn't hold idle, it would stall. I just assumed It was air in the system and after a while this cleared...

It's now back with a vengence. I have done about 2000 miles (at least) since the first case of the stalling. There is no warning lights on the dash and it doesn't happen every time I use the car.

Does anyone have any idea of what this could be? I'm reluctant to take it to a mechanic as they might not scan a fault and then spend time and money trying to find the issue.

Is it even worth spending any more money on this car? It's been nothing but chaos since the start. Can't remember the last time I travelled somewhere without the anxiety of thinking im going to break down.

The car is a 308sw thp 1.6 turbo 2012. How serious is this leak? I think it’s oil. Would this be an expensive repair?

Already have dealt with the lighting issues of the dashboard. Temporarily solved the problem of weakly-working handbrake. And I'm setting my sights on door restrictors, window mechanisms, soft-top back window, and general french electricity.

I'm really excited about it!

Peugeot 308 - Petrol/MHEV?

Hi folks,

I’m absolutely clueless about cars but I love the style of the facelift 308. Been contemplating getting one but everywhere I look at anything to do with Peugeot engines, the internet would have me believe to steer clear of anything Peugeot. Namely wet belts and chains.

I’ve read the HDI and BlueHDI are good, but I’d be looking for petrol or MHEV. Are there any 308s with a decent engine not plagued by issues?

2008 2014 Engine coolant black & high pressure at cold temp.

I’ve just come back from MOT & service and they mentioned that my coolant was black and had a high pressure even when the engine was cold - to the point it over spilled onto the floor when they opened it. To be honest, I’ve not checked this in the last 6 months or so. The car does have very high mileage - serviced every year so as I girl I just assumed they would sort that. They’ve not done anything to the coolant and I’ve just drove home an hour ago and now I’m thinking should I have? Is this going to be a bigger issue costing thousands?

2008 Peugeot 308 1.6 VTi timing chain sounds?

Not sure if these are normal engine sounds or if there's some timing chain rattle or something else?

266 000 km with regular oil changes.

Video taken on cold start.
