We get a pack with a guaranteed 2 star card?? Which pack do you think is best for this and what are you picking

Here's a last look at the meta decks for TCG Pocket before next week's release of Dual Fusion. Which decks have you had the most fun this season?

Which ones are you hoping will get stronger or weaker with the new set?

In all seriousness, though, after watching the trailer and seeing some of the new info that's come out of this set, I am CAUTIOUSLY optimistic that the rest of the set will be good. I'm not gonna make the same mistake I did when Extradimensional Crisis's trailer dropped and I instantly said the set was bad; I have faith they are saving up some great cards for when the set actually drops.

However, with that in mind, I personally feel like what they DID show in the trailer was....kinda weak. Don't get me wrong, Dual Types are pretty cool, and I am ESPECIALLY hyped for ZA megas coming to the game, but honestly, from what I'm seeing, these cards aren't extraordinarily special in my personal opinion, and it's not really adding any HUGE spicy new mechanics that'll wildly change up the entire game.

My first gripe with the set so far (and probably the one that'll get me spam downvoted), is that it's yet again featuring a lot of Kanto shoehorned in. I mean if you SERIOUSLY look at most of the EX cards revealed thus far, quite a few of them are Gen 1 mons or Gen 1 mega forms. Let's not even mention the new Kanto starter full arts. I think it's still just a personal thing with me not liking when Kanto Pokémon are the main "focus" AGAIN in a new set, but after Mega Shine, I am really not looking forward to seeing Cheeto Dragon & friends show their faces again. And of course, we're getting ANOTHER pikachu ex for some reason.

My second and last sort of issue I'm seeing with this set from what we got so far is that it feels like the EX mons are starting to get a bit "cookie-cutter-esque" in my opinion. Mega Greninja and Mew ex seem to be the worst offenders on this list, with Mega Greninja basically just being a slightly better Kingdra ex and Mew ex serving as a Psychic Moltres ex. For these cards being the first show of what the new set will have to offer, seeing so many recycled mechanics doesn't really hype me up a whole lot. That's not to say there's NOTHING new of course, don't get me wrong. Mega Mewtwo X ex and the new Ribombee seem like they are bringing new stuff to the table. But overall, first impressions are unfortunately pretty weak.

All of this is to say, I don't think this set is going to be BAD. It is indeed a new base set, and the number of new cards we're probably going to get will almost certainly spice things up a bit at least in some form. The new arts for all of the EX pokemon and 1 stars we haven't seen yet are also probably going to look BEAUTIFUL as always, so I'm always looking forward to that as well.

Again, point isn't to flame on the set, I'm just expressing a bit of caution as the full set actually gets released. But this is just my opinion which probably doesn't matter, so I wanna hear what yall have to say.

Bonus reminder: Traders, you can tag cards as favourites (top right, bookmark icon), then when you search, select not favourites. You can then avoid having to scribble/ cross out all the cards that you are not willing to trade.

I swear every single time I get a trade offer for something I have in my wishlist and they don't have anything in there's, I can only pick an equal rarity card at random and 99% of the time it gets rejected.

I had one guy try to trade me something I needed like 10 times before I just started rejecting the initial offer.

What do they expect? How am I supposed to know what you want lol.

Sometimes I do receive shares of cards that I don't have that arent on my wishlist. Is there a way to see if the receiver has the card already that I'm unaware of?

The CGI artwork is cool and all but seeing this kind of artwork on the pack is refreshing and better in my opinion

Through some of the official news they posted we can see the upcoming Ribombee card. This is official. By carefully looking at the text, you can clearly tell that this is the text of the ability:

"Once during your turn, you may use this Ability. Put a Sweet Honey <5-6 letter word> card into your hand"

So this is quite shocking. You'd expect that missing part to say something like "from your discard pile" or "from your deck".

But instead it's "something" + card. What is that word? And why mention "card" when it's already obvious that we are drawing cards?

When you think about the balancing and power of the card, it's also strange. What's the point of an ability that draws you a very specific card each turn? At most, you'll be able to use it twice, assuming you didn't draw it naturally already. It seems pretty weak. And from the discard pile doesn't fit the text.

SO THIS IS MY THEORY: It says something along the lines of "bonus" card (the actual word may be different, but the meaning will probably be the same).

This would allow you to "create" and obtain a card that isn't part of your deck. You don't need to bring Sweet Honey. Hell, Sweet Honey may not even be available to pull in the set, for all this could mean. It's just a bonus card that you generate from an ability.

Of course this is pure speculation, but considering this is a virtual game, a mechanic like this should be easy to implement, unlike a physical game (and even in physical games like Riftbound, they have mechanics like this).

What do you guys think? And if this were the case, how could this be used? I can see this being cool for Rotom EX, since you could generate infinite items, or for some upcoming Vespiqueen that deals damage based on your Sweet Honeys (physical pokemon TCG had a Vespiqueen exactly like this)

I don't think I've seen a single mention/use of Crustle EX since it dropped. It's just kinda there. Not even the worst card in the game, just extremely irrelevant lol

This is like the 3rd Greninja deck I've gone against and I'm pretty sure just like me we're all testing out what our Mega Greninjas decks will be like, super excited for the next pack

Also shocker stuffing your deck with sleep scam only messes up your rng and you end up with a Bulbasaur with 5 energies

Using gyarados, I luckily got rid of both of their Cyrus and a Sabrina so they had no way of pulling my benched pokemon up. So I kept switching up my active pokemon with the insane energy farming of sharpedo and milotic and left the low HP ones on the bench until the soothing shores healed them enough to send them out again. This deck did get me to master ball though 👀

To my knowledge the museum 2 requires all of the unique 2 ⭐ pokemons in either RR or FA versions. I have all the FA ones, but no Museum 2.

Have I understood it incorrectly and it is both RR and FA or what? Have never gotten a Museum 2 completed so no reference point.

Kind of a beginner here so might just be a skill issue or inexperience, but, people who play mega Slowbro, how do you utilize this mon? I haven’t had any success in versus Battles or just in general. How do you do it?

M Scizor can Skyla into either mantyke or Raticate then retreat back to Scizor for the damage. TR Raticate helps get an extra turn off and if you Dawn the stolen energy to your M Scizor you can attack a turn early due to the one colorless. If possible, going Mantyke to small Scizor to M Scizor is catastrophic to the opponent but really just swinging with M Scizor ASAP ends games quickly! I used the revavroom build for a long time because Scizor is one of my favorites but this build feels much better and more consistent. I ran a field blower for a long time but the lucky ice pop can save your from many breakpoints by going from 200 HP to 220 minimum, could be even better given luck but just a single use is a game changer

No matter what deck I try, I get hit by a perfect combination by Turn 2. I think I've given this one like 30 attempts now.

I just wanted to clear the Solo Missions before they went away, but this one is so rigged its unenjoyable.

Dual Fusion expansion will release on October 28 at 6:00 p.m. PDT

If you don’t know, Transformation Tome is an item in the physical tcg that allows you to switch one of your Pokemon with one in the discard pile. When you do this, the new Pokemon keeps anything attached as well as any damage or special conditions on the on the old Pokemon.

Looking at some of the cards that will be added in the upcoming set, I believe a card similar to this could allow for some cool combos. For example, using the new Blastoise to ramp 6 energy, then switching it with Mega Blastoise. Another combo could be using the energy plunder Tyranitar to attach 4 energy, then switching to Mega Tyranitar.

If something like this were to be added, I’d imagine it would be a supporter with text something like “Switch your active Pokemon with a Mega ex Pokemon in your hand with the same name. Any attached cards, energy, damage, special conditions, and any other effects remain on the new Pokemon”.
What do you think the chances of a trainer like this being added, and would it be a good addition to the game?
