I need advice 45, married, a mum, and an accidental OF creator. Am I too vanilla, or should I just keep being me?
Hello you lovely people!
Tiny bit of background... I'm a British 45-year-old business owner, wife and mother. I have a very conventional life outside of this, but I've always had another side to myself.
Now my children are adults, I decided to explore it a little. And that's how I ended up on Reddit, and eventually started my OF experiment!
I'm proud of my body, I work hard for it, and I have a real passion for photography. I'm also an exhibitionist and get a huge thrill from being naked in the wilderness. So I combined all these things, freed my alter ego, and began sharing her on Reddit, with absolutely no idea how it would go.
My dream is to study a master's in photography and eventually photograph other 'older' women, helping them see how beautiful they are. So I thought, why not open an OF account and put anything I earn from my photography towards studying photography?
I'm certainly not a typical creator, and I'm not seeing astronomical growth. It's slow and steady.
I've gained nearly 5,000 Reddit followers in two months, and some of the people I've met are extraordinary. Intelligent, creative men who write beautiful things, create artwork inspired by my photographs, and sometimes even call me their muse.
Many of them don't do OF, but I still enjoy talking to them. I suppose I'm just nice like that!
My OF hovers around 40 subscribers. I gain some, lose some, and the ones who stay seem to genuinely appreciate my creativity, personality and intelligence. I care about them, too.
I've made around $2,000 net in two months. My target is $11,500 to fund my studies, and then I can happily carry on enjoying Reddit and photography without the pressure of making money.
And I mostly love it all!
Let's face it, it's an enormous ego boost and an endorphin rush. But it's also distracting and, at times, rather consuming. I love photography so much that I'd much rather be planning shoots and editing photographs than making dinner or doing the laundry!
I suppose I'm here for a little reassurance and some advice.
Looking at my profile, do you think I'm too nice, too tame, too vanilla? Should I just keep doing what I'm doing, or do I need to push myself towards more explicit content to attract subscribers?
Are there any relatively quick changes I could make to improve what I'm doing without losing the parts of it I love?
And finally, I just want to say how impressed I am by all of you creators. You're brilliant businesswomen. This takes tenacity, dedication and imagination, and I think that's so underrated!
I'd genuinely love to hear your thoughts. š
