"Dreams" is the best depiction of nightmares in media.
One of my favorite episodes for the atmosphere. But also, I think it's the best representation of nightmares put to film.

"The Army-Navy Game" referenced the 53rd in the series. That game was actually played on December 29, 1952. The final score stated in the episode was Navy winning 42-36.
Navy won the real game 7-0.

IMDB doesn’t list who was officiating Frank’s wedding but from the side view shown it looks like the now deceased Famous journalist Paul Harvey. I’m almost positive it’s not him, but he sure looks like I remember Paul Harvey. Does anyone else see the resemblance?

Drinking coffee this morning I started thinking about how funny Margaret was when playing a drunk. Lines like “I’m not so think as you drunk I am” and “you aminal” lol. Even Mulcahy had a drunk scene. Who do you think was the best?

Yesterday I rewathced the season 6 finale, and while nothing is wrong with it, per say, I do wonder why it as a season finale is not more... Final if you want. Like it just feels like another episode in the middle of the season, and I was wondering if anyone else felt that way

The anthem played during Hawkeye's eulogy of Tuttle is the same one that was played at his party after being named Chief Surgeon.

In the intro to the show, why are only Radar, Hawkeye, Trapper and later B.J. the only main characters shown? Apologize if this was asked before. I searched history and couldn't find this question. Just wondering

Watching Adam's Rib and I notice that the supply Sargent is also the same guy who doesn't think Colonel Potter is who he is in CAVE..

I probably saw this within a couple years of it first airing. Diabetes treatments would have been a bit better by then than in the 50s but it was still a lot less common than it is now and people were a lot less familiar with it. According to the CDC, it was at less than 1% of the population in 1958. By the time this episode came out, the percentage had more than doubled. By 2019, it was just over 11% of the population.

After countless times watching, I just had a 'Duh' moment when I (finally) noticed the differences in the backgrounds when Hawkeye and Trapper are clowning at Frank after the latter demands how they could just sit there and let themselves get bombed.
If there's a closeup on Hawkeye and Trapper's face, it's the soundstage but when it's Frank's, they're at the Ranch.
I don't know why it's taken me this long to realize that.

When I was in university in the 1980s we watched MASH 3 times a day, and the new episodes once a week. Then, probably 20 years later, I caught a couple of episodes on broadcast TV and I was bugged by what was cut out, probably to fit more ads in. For instance, in the episode where two North Koreans take Frank hostage (without him knowing he’s a hostage) and they show a long shot of them driving along a road, and then a close up as they stop and order him out of the jeep. But I distinctly remember that during that long shot, he says “did I mention I taught my rabbit how to smile”, and they cut that part out. Is there any place to stream the original episodes, rather than the sliced up ones from the 2000s?

An analyst shows up to brief them on an upcoming battle and the number of causalities they can expect. Hawkeye despises him.

Hi MASH friends-
I noticed the slightest cameo of an old 20th Century Fox movie prop in the MASH episode "Welcome to Korea" and thought I'd share:

Behold, above, a shot of Radar, Hawkeye and BJ driving up a hill in "Welcome to Korea". But what can one see to the right of the tree trunk on the left? It looks like a humongous billboard! But it's actually a false second roof structure of the Chinese fort exterior set from the Fox movie The Sand Pebbles, starting Steve McQueen. The structure is seen below from another angle **Thanks to Ron Hammill, of Ron On Location on YouTube.

The far right posts of the backing seen above on the far right, are seen above in the shot of the boys driving up that hill. This backing causes the depth effect in a shot from the movie, below. Makes it looks like there's a second building back beyond the Chinese fort in the foreground. The backing is seen in the left center of photo below. The lovely Candice Burgen shows up in a shot on the fort set at the ranch shortly hereafter.

I'm including a 1970's U.S. air force 'satellite' photo below of The Sand Pebbles falsey two wall set on the left side of the image, and the grasslands side trail the boys are driving up is on the right center. The fellas then make a left onto what today is called the Grasslands Trail in the upper right of the shot. Hawkeye and Radar also pass the camera on Grasslands Trail at the bottom right of this image. And another shot of them driving under a couple phone poles in the episode was shot just further down toward where Grasslands Trail meets Crags Road ...the main utility road through the ranch- east to west.

I always think some of the Hollywood history that lived on Fox's Century Ranch (today Malibu Creek State Park) while MASH was shooting there, is neat stuff. The Sand Pebbles exterior falsey stood until around 1980 -- about that time, the old Fox production storage buildings (about 1,500 feet west of the Pebbles set) that doubled as the MASH Kimpo Air Base were also torn down.
The Sand Pebbles falsey barely showing up in MASH, is one of the only times a Hollywood prop unintentionally showed up in a shot on tv's MASH. And it's possible that the crew on the day MASH shot this shot knew that a little something of the Pebbles set might show, and they just went for it. The tree does a good job obscuring it.
A good week to all of you fellow MASH'ers!

I dare someone to request an 04 WW Nug to be delivered to a frontline medical unit.
Don't say why, just insist that any disagreement is contraindicating.

The scene where even Potter is drunk with the doctors in the swamp made me wonder how often that would happen without a still.

Interesting that a tank scares away a sniper in this episode but makes the camp a target in the finale.
Shame about the scotch, though.
