"Can I run this game" posts have been removed

Hey everyone. I've noticed that there's been a lot of "Can I run this" and "Can I run that" posts on the subreddit; that's not what I intended this for. The overall intention of the subreddit is a place for community discussion regarding video-games, low spec/entry level hardware, integrated graphics and the content of my channel, not a tech support forum. If you want to ask if you can run something, r/CanIRunIt is maybe a more appropriate place. The moderators and I have agreed that a change to the rules is long overdue and so posts asking "Can I run X?" will be removed.

Tweak Wanted [PC Port] GoW III Game crashing

I got i5 8350u, 620 UHD. I know it's pretty prehistoric but even when I boot it up on 480p and windowed (doesn't open up to be windowed) it doesn't even go past the Santa Monica loading screen and crashes, are there any workarounds? or is it over for me 💔🙏🏼

Hi, how can I get the fans on my Dell Latitude E5420 to run at 100% to keep temperatures to a minimum? I also have an external fan installed. I want the internal fan to run at 100% to increase temperatures. Tell me what program, script, or code I can use to make the fan run at 100%.

Image/video Old GPU causing issues with modern gaming

I know its obvious that older parts aren't the best for gaming in the modern day but i was wondering if there is any settings or programs i can use to help my graphics card keep up with some modern games. Example: the game I'm currently playing is Valhiem and the performance is all over the place unless i just lock everything to the lowest setting. Even when someone else hosts to take off some of the load. Makes it annoying to play a survival game with no render distance.

Seeking Computer performance fix for gaming and productivity 🙏🏻

TITLE: Apex stutters at 170-210 FPS on Ryzen 7 3700X + RTX 3060 Ti (GPU only 46% used). What am I missing?

SPECS: Ryzen 7 3700X (AG400 G2 cooler, \~65C in game), RTX 3060 Ti, 4x8GB DDR4-3200 CL16 (XMP, FCLK 1:1), MSI B450M Mortar Max, 1080p 260Hz G-Sync, Win 11.

PROBLEM: Micro-stutter about once a minute and uneven frame times in fights. Firing range is smooth. I used to average \~250 FPS, now \~190-210. GPU \~46%, CPU \~32%, no core pinned at 100%. Ping is stable.

TRIED (no real change): new cooler, XMP/FCLK, Auto HDR off (+5%), Process Lasso (+5-10%), SMT off for Apex, shader cache clear, all background apps closed, PBO, Reflex On+Boost, power plan tweaks, lowest CPU-heavy settings.

QUESTIONS:

  1. Is this just the 3700X's limit in Apex, or is something else wrong?

  2. Did a recent patch make Apex worse on Zen 2?

  3. Is RAM timing tuning worth it with 4 sticks? (tRFC is 560)

  4. Best FPS cap method for steady frametimes?

NOTE: PC gaming performance doesn't feel as good and the CPU is bottlenecking. How do I fix it? Can't upgrade atm.

Thanks!

Performance issue

EDIT : THANK YOU EVERYONE I FIXED IT by changing the driver version and setting the fps limit to the max in-game (fps limit was off before) im now back to very smooth gameplay

Hello

So i have this Asus A15 TUF laptop (see specifics down )for a couple weeks now

Been running Cyberpunk 2077 at custom (low) settings at 70-80 fps smoothly for a while then recently its almost impossible to run the game

Been lagging so hard its so hard to just enjoy the game.

I have other games installed but they arent as demanding but i still notice a slight performance drop

For example pragmata at medium setting was running fine at 100fps but now i get 70 and it lagged a little during a big fight

My Nvidia driver is up to date so i dont understand this performance drop and the cyberpunk situation is the most irritating one as its so bad when i use to be able to run the game smoothly i even tried to put everything on low and i can only play the game at like 24 to 30 fps which is unacceptable

So any recommendations or potential solutions ?

Laptop specifics :

Ryzen 7 155 W/ Radeon 740M

8GB DDR5 4800MHz ram

ssd 512gb

RTX 3050 4GB VRAM

Running on windows 11

I feel like I should be able to run deadlock but can't

Small prior detail but I'm just kinda new to pc/steam gaming and I'm on a laptop so I'm here haven't been able to figure it out on my own because I don't know the editions of components like how good a i7-1360p is or anything, I'm sorry if this is a common ask but I am just really bummed because this game seems so fun! Anyway I'm not 100% sure which model I have but I think it's a Lenovo Slim 7i? Specs as follows for people that know (just from looking at my device info in settings)

Processor : 13th gen intel(r) core (tm) i7-1360 (2.2GHz)
Ram: 16gb (it says 15.7gb usable?)
Graphics card : intel(r) iris(r) xe graphics (128MB)
I have enough storage
System type : 64-bit operating system, x64-based processor

I'm running windows 11, version 25H2 apparently

From what I've looked up I should have enough memory but I'm hitting like 85-90% usage when I run it (it says \\\~4500-5000 Mb is from deadlock which is about 60-65% it says idk)

I reduce my resolution to 1680x1050 because lower that the window gets real messed up for some reason and dropped my render quality to 40% (which is the lowest I can) and everything is the lowest option/off to try to reduce graphics and in the sandbox I'm usually about 20fps, I got 40 for a few minutes at one point and it felt wonderful but idk why. If I could stay at 40 I would genuinely play the game and be happy enough about it.

I'm really not sure what to do, if I just ain't got the hardware for it then Thats ok but from what I could find my cpu and ram should be fine?

If anyone needs extra details I'm happy to provide!

Image/video Gaming on 299$ Arduino VENTUNO Q: Crysis, Hades, Witcher 3

I bought this new Arduino board for Robotics, but I tested few games:

  • Crysis
  • CS: Source
  • Hades
  • Ori and the Blind Forest
  • The Witcher: Enhanced Edition
  • The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt

SoC is IQ8275, 8 Core CPU, 16GB RAM, Adreno 623, M.2 Gen 4x4 SSD, the most compareble devices are Jetson Orin Nano and Raspberry Pi 5, I made comparison table on my blog.

Runs normal Ubuntu 24.04 and pulls ~ 20W so don't expect any AAA titles to run, also no DX12 due to drivers/DXVK 2 incompatibility (there are missing VK extensions in Turnip driver).

I used Wine and Box86/64 to run games, installed with Pi-apps.

You can get it from official website: https://store-usa.arduino.cc/products/ventuno-q

Want a new cpu for my shitty pc

I have a pc, cheap pc on LGA 1155, my motherboard is Fujitsu D2990-a3, my cpu is i5-3470, but 4/4 is… i have 2 options:
1. If my motherboard supports Xeon i can buy a E3 1230 v2
2. Or buy i7-3770 (i have a GPU), if motherboard doesn’t support Xeon

So, who had experience with this topic, what should i do? (Sorry for my English)

System Shock 2: 25th Anniversary Remaster free this week Epic Games Store.

It's an excellent game for older/weaker PCs.

I have the Epic Games launcher installed just to check the free games every few days, which I am sure that's why they do it.

Which system should I choose for a low-end laptop?

Hi, I'm looking for a system that I can install on my Samsung np300e5c i3g3 6gb ram with an integrated hd 4000 card. I'd prefer Windows, but Linux wouldn't bother me if it were easy to use (I've never used it, mind you). The Geforce Now app has to work. I'm mainly concerned with pure performance.

I did not realize 120mm fans were supposed to be this big, i got 6 for 2$ on marketplace however they are molex fans. Will try to use a voltage regulator and some adaptors to see if i can undervolt and control the fan speed atleast, wich will arive next week

Performance issues

After getting a copy of Minecraft Dungeons a long time ago from a friend, I recently finally wanted to try it out, now that I also have a more modern and powerful laptop. The thing is that compared to other games, this one really gave me a scare performance-wise. I could feel the fans going stronger than usual, so much so that I couldn't really ignore them, so I closed the game. I use a windows 11 acer laptop with 32 gigas of RAM, with an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 50 series(I think it's a 5050?) graphics card built in, intel core i9 and something called NitroSense ExperienceZone, which I don't really know what it is.

Still, I don't think I'm using the full extent of its performance capabilities right. I'm not really a tech expert, so help would be appreciated if possible. Thanks in advance!
