Florian Schneider, the creative co-founder of the band, has passed away.
In a statement, Kraftwerk co-founder Ralf Hütter confirms "the very sad news that his friend and companion over many decades Florian Schneider has passed away from a short cancer disease just a few days after his 73rd birthday."
Quoted from Billboard. Several articles are appearing online in various languages, based on a joint statement from Ralf Hütter and Sony.
Please rest in peace, dear master.

V-2 Schneider
This song was named after Florian which is a nice Bowie acknowledgement to the band and this song is so good especially how Dennis Davis plays! It does sounds like an Autobahn,Radio Activity,and/or Trans Europe Express track imo even though it doesn’t have that Kraftwerk sound per say:)

Who would you consider the most important Kraftwerk member, besides Ralf and Florian?
Karl Bartos: Came up with some songs such as Computer Love and The Telephone Call, as well as the beat of numbers, the beat of TEE and overall helped with harmony thanks to his finesse in connecting speech and music.
Conny Plank: Helped mix many of Kraftwerk's songs from the very first traffic cone album all the way to Radio-Activity. His editing work in tracks such as Tanzmusik, Autobahn and Radio Stars helped create the foundation for the band's sample clusters, such as Numbers and Musique Non Stop, and his work on Tongebirge had a massive influence on Kraftwerk's singature style as a mountain of sound, allowing them to combine layers of music which would later be perfected in TEE with the use of sequencers.
Emil Schult: Came up with The Model, helped give the rock influence we hear in songs such as Autobahn and Showroom Dummies, co-wrote many of the songs, drew the cover for Autobahn and helped a lot with the tours (even going on to be the guitarist in some of the 1974 concerts)
There's other candidates, but I believe these are the top 3.

Radio-Activity
Thoughts on this album?
It’s quite good in the great discography that is Kraftwerk and it’s quite good start to finish with an great concept of themes:) Love their electronic stuff and this is no different because Kraftwerk just does magical music with electronics.

Kraftwerk ink?
Fiftieth birthday present to myself, also an avid cyclist so I consider it getting “two for one”. In this economy? You just gotta.
As much as I’d like to credit the tattooist, good mate of mine in fact, I don’t want him hearing from the group’s legal team. Presumably “Kling, Klang, and Associates LLP”?

Computer World Green Vinyl
I bought this new back around 2008. Curious if it’s a rare press or anything special. Tried looking online and can’t find one or it’s value.

The Man Machine is the perfect song for a monday morning
The human brain has no musical apparatus. When we listen to music, we feel emotions because it inteprets music as speech. In other words, music only moves us because we can understand what other people feel. The act of composing a song is, to the brain, insepparable from the act of carrying an idea.
With The Man Machine, the repeating riff feels like someone looking in awe at a seemingly impossible event, as in "Wow. Look at what machines are capable of doing!", and the repetition of it creates a humorous relationship with the vocals, which, in their indifference, seem to be saying back "Yes. I know."
At the same time, the riff sounds like the ringtone of an alarm clock, telling the person who set that it is time to get up and work, and the vocals' indifference give this impression of "Here we go again". When the drumline hits, it feels they have gotten up from the bed, and are doing their morning routines whilst getting ready for another day of work.
The way this song comes right after Neon Lights seems to hammer home the idea that the mundane is the only constant. Regardless of how special the weekend may have been, there will always be that monday right after. Some could call it cynical, but a more accurate way to describe it would be realistic. This is the way things are, and Kraftwerk is simply representing it.
Kraftwerk had always been putting a few hints of their thoughts on romanticism since the start, even going on to create a facade of it in TEE, but with The Man Machine, they cemented themselves as realists, portraying what the romantics wanted to avoid, technology, not as it "should be", but as it is.
The fadeout at the end seems to suggest the romantics' nightmare is now real: This era is not ending any time soon. Technology is here to stay.
