There are worse ways for a podcast to end

I'm currently mourning the H3 Podcast after the host was revealed to be having an affair. Ethan and Hila are married and often host the show together often, and yesterday Hila posted that Ethan had been having an affair for the past six months and the show was put on "indefinite hiatus". If you want to stare into the internet abyss you can see what's happening on their subreddit: https://old.reddit.com/r/h3h3productions/

There's actually a Hello Internet connection here too, since Ethan and Hila were discussed on HI #87 when they won against a copyright lawsuit for their fair use of a video. I haven't relistened to it but I remember Grey thinking they're funny.

Someone in Grinding Gear Games might have been a fan of HI at some point. They could have heard the word from somewhere else, but this will be my headcanon from now on lol

Anybody else find comfort that this show completely predates widespread LLM use?

I have to interact with large language models on a somewhat regular basis for my job. Skipping the merit debate, I do just find them grating and sometimes I dread using them, and I find it grating that it seems like every conversation I have in person eventually devolves into a conversation about AI. It seems like this technology has gotten into every hobby and activity I enjoy and the only way to fully escape it is to find content to engage with before the release of ChatGPT.

Any podcast on any topic nowadays seems to have AI come up at some point (even if it is to talk about being anti-ai), I love that HI never existed in the LLM era.

Anybody else have this thought about this show?

edit: spelling

HI Mention in Intentionally Blank

It’s a very short mention. A quick mention that HI is the producers favorite pod.

HI-Like Podcast

This topic comes up pretty frequently. I’ve always suggested Dear Hank and John, but the last month I’ve been blasting through Intentionally Blank.

It’s two affluent middle aged white guys talking about whatever. There’s a food-heist corner every episode and, the biggest news: NO ADS.

It’s Brandon Sanderson (#1 fantasy author lately, started podcast to sign books while being entertained) and Dan Wells (his friend, and eventual employee, also an author). They don’t have the same crisp editing but fill the hole wonderfully.

Ad-free episodes, anybody got them?

I was a patreon subscriber for years and years, but relistening lately and obviously it has been taken down. Does anybody have a zip file of the ad-free patreon mp3s? I figure the sponsors are expired and I couldn't give them my money even if I wanted to, so there's not really much harm being done. Feel free to DM me if that's more comfortable than leaving a comment

What episode do they discuss an advert for twitter that was shown in cinemas? If I remember right it was a weird one that’s like a hostage negotiator

Hi folks!

Here's this week's trivia quiz for Episode 22: https://forms.gle/fF1hs1FggWhm8Xmd6

Congrats to the following players from the Episode 21 quiz!

Seems like it was a pretty tough one. Hopefully this week's quiz is a bit easier.

Additionally, u/10from19 is going on HI-atus as co-quizmaster, so you'll have to settle for my quizzes for the foreseeable future.

Mean "tweets" - Hello Internet version

I would give Grey mad props if he ever comes back and the first thing he does is to read Brady’s comments and posts about how disappointed and angry we have been, "mean tweet" style. Plus a good and sufficient mea culpa.

Then, I hope I would be able to let go of his rude disappearance.

So uh… is Grey just gone?

Been awhile and revisited HI, then went to check on the CGPGrey YouTube channel while exploring the nostalgia, noticed it’s been over a year since his last upload.

Ok. A long time but not completely uncharacteristic. Then went to cortex, and he’s gone there too.

Obviously I’m out of the loop, but tried to poke around and didn’t find any official comment from grey himself, sounds like no updates either. Did we finally get the final Irish Exit that was hinted at for years? Or did I miss something in my research

Hidden chambers in Tutankhamun's tomb. Wasn't Brady exited for this and discussed it on the podcast?
