Hi, my name is Ray Butler, also known online as KogHiro. I'm 35 years old and was recently diagnosed with invasive adenocarcinoma of the colon.

The original plan was surgery to remove the cancer, but a PET scan showed that it had spread to my liver. Because of that, surgery was taken off the table for now and chemotherapy became the next step.

I've since had my port placed and started chemotherapy.

Because I'm only 35, both my oncologist and colorectal surgeon have also recommended genetic testing to see if there may be a hereditary reason I developed colon cancer this young.

Between chemo, scans, appointments, procedures, and recovery, both my spouse and I are having to miss work. At the same time, medical bills and normal living expenses are already adding up quickly.

I've created a GoFundMe to help cover medical expenses and some of the income we're losing while I go through treatment.

I’m honestly reaching out with a heavy heart because I’m struggling right now, and I’m not too proud to admit that I could use some help. My son wants to play basketball, and as a parent, all I want is to give him the opportunity to do something he loves. Unfortunately, playing comes with costs that I’m having a hard time covering right now. Hello. My name is Riley, and I am on here in a desperate situation. I just lost my job a month ago. I've been working on getting unemployment or another job, and I still haven't gotten either.
