Discussion Dead money DLC is stressing me TF out
I’m playing Dead Money for the first time right now and holy shiii I just want to get out of here 😭
The atmosphere is so unsettling. The constant beeping from my collar, the ghost people, the fog, and just how creepy and depressing everything is
I feel trapped here and I hate it Lol.
I’ve never wanted to leave an area in a Fallout game so badly. I miss the Mojave. I miss the sun. I miss being able to explore without feeling like I’m about to die every five seconds!!! 😭super cool story and RIP my companions 😭 but I am so stressed playing this dlc

What groups or people should or should not have been included in the ending slides?
Who should not have been included
-The NCR Misfits
They're minor characters that don't have too much impact on the story or outcome of the final events of the game, while other slides focus on courier companion and more significant cities, towns, groups and people to how the Mojave turns out as a whole.
Who I think should have been included
-President Kimball
I think the game should have had more content related to him in general. You mean to tell me that we get to choose whether the president of the largest faction in the game lives or dies and we only see him during one quest and he isn't mentioned in the ending slides? Seems like a missed opportunity to me.
-Secondary faction leaders like Vulpes Inculta, Legate Lanius, Hsu, Moore and Oliver
Unlike the Yes Man and Mr House endings where there is just one leader and one right hand person, fleshing out these characters and their power struggles within their organizations through quests and ending slides would have been interesting to see

Dead Money DLC is hard asf
Basically limping around surviving on blood sausages and red paste, 2 or more Ghost People jumping me every turn chucking spears and gas bombs at me. I'm on hardcore and my perks aren't the best either.

Discussion Companions choices
Hey guys I’ve never done a legion play through and I when I play I try to be “as realistic as possible” to whoever I side with and I was wondering is there a companion somewhere in the legion I can invite to come with me or who would make the most sense to invite for a legion play through

Is Lanius getting tricked in his speech/barter scenarios
For the speech 100 check I remembered this dialogue from Caesar
"(from a) nomadic army to a standing military force that protects its citizens, {finality}and the power of its dictator." - Caesar
So the legion will become a standing army. A standing army is an army that recruits its citizens by conscription or volunteer. So once the NCR is taken the legion will evolve and recruits will be conscripted (or volunteer) from the citizen classes from the empire.
Lanius seems to have no idea about this.
TLDR: Caesar seems to have a means of increasing his manpower to rule the west and east. Lanius does not seem to know about this.
For the barter 100 check
What made me think of this was a specific dialogue from Joshua Graham. One where he talks about Caesar's excellent logistics capabilities while decrying Lanius's.
"I think only Caesar can lead the Legion. I've never met anyone who could take his place. I couldn't. I never had a mind for logistics. I don't know Lanius, but from what I've heard, he has no interest in leading anyone unless it's in battle." - Joshua Graham
Lanius also suffers from logistical issues in Denver while in command. If Caesar is logistically talented and Lanius is not, are you just fooling him? We also see when Lanius conquers in the end slides, he conquers things differently than Caesar. He just harvests Vegas.
He also talks about how he will harvest the west. This is very different from Caesar he wants to synthesize the west.
TLDR: Caesar is much better with logistics than Lanius. Lanius appears to be incapable of understanding nation building.
In the end I think this would make some sense from a writing perspective. We do get to hear from Caesar about his solution for manpower when holding the west.
We also get to hear about Lanius’s logistical incompetence from the end game slides, Graham, and Lanius himself.

Discussion The Abandoned Farming community of North-west Vegas
In past playthroughs I’ve tended to ignore the scattered ruins you can find above Westside and North Vegas Square. Apart from the Wins, there are no residents, and including their home there is but a scattering of houses to enter. In my current one, however, I’ve noticed something interesting.
These photos display a series of intentionally planted crops;
The first seems to be a rudimentary garden bed, with miniaturised versions of Mojave plants directly alongside the front of a boarded up house. Directly to its left, and visible in the next two images, is a field of edible cacti, intentionally grown in rows surrounding a post-war shack. Of note is that several of the prickly pear cacti are already harvested upon discovery, and the contents of the shack, including a Brahmin steak by the smoking fire, indicate that someone has been by recently, and taken some of the fruit. However, as the house has been boarded up, it is unlikely they were the one to inhabit it more recently and plant the many cacti and shrubs in their farm and garden, many of which have shriveled and fail to bear fruit in their owners absence.
The fourth image seems to have, up until fairly recently, been a Brahmin ranch. The fencing here is completely intact, and the carcasses are of rotting Brahmin, not skeletal cattle, a model that does exist within fallout new Vegas. This was a post-war ranch, with recently repaired or constructed (as their intersection with an electrical tower may indicate) fencing - the largest intact fenced area in a single in game area, notably. Once again, the house is boarded up.
Five shows a segment of the vast cornfields that lay around the Horowitz and Tumbleweed farms. There is little to suggest these were seriously cultivated recently in a manner like the previous examples, except for a small section of tilled land visible in the sixth image. This section, and a few others like it, are along the northern edge of the I-15. It may be that pre-war, there had historically been a swathe of cornfields on that site, with them running wild in the years since, and that only recently had more formalised farming been attempted in those cornfields alongside the other attempts in the region.
The final image was the first farm that I noticed, and what led me to make this post. Just out of frame, to the left, is a lit streetlamp, powered by fission battery. This spiked my curiosity, and then I noticed the small cornfield, water tanks and windmill. The biggest mystery surrounding this location are the gaping holes in the sides of the building, enabling access.
It’s entirely possible that after 200 years these parts of the wall simply caved in, but that doesn’t seem like it to me.
North-west Vegas is a remarkably quiet part of the game. Apart from a few coyotes, there was nothing near hostile anywhere near these farmsteads. And yet, they’re nearly all boarded up, and their crops and livestock have been left to rot. The one ‘abandoned house’ location in the region (directly next to the cactus farmstead) is unremarkable, except in its unremarkableness. Besides the basic furniture and a few things in the fridge, there is nothing. The shelves are bare. It’s as if they packed their things and left.
Which raises the question - what happened to this farming community? Clearly up until a little before the game’s start there were several farmsteads operating close by in a quiet part of Vegas, close to trading hubs and other settlements. There’s not a fiend in sight - they’re protected by the buffering walls of Westside.

Discussion What are your core plot choices and why?
I’m sure this has been asked but new Vegas is all about choices. For the major side quests and main quests, what choices do you feel are right and why? I typically do a NCR playthrough that tries to peacefully resolve things with everyone except the legion, NCR is flawed but they are tolerant of ghouls and women, and at least give people the opportunity to make a name for themselves in the NCR, let me know what you guys think?

Suggestion [Mod Release] Long 15 - Fat Frick Stanton
A small mod that gives Frick Stanton his original fat suit and also editing his face as well!
Uses the Long 15 files so it's just one simple plugin, you are able to steal the no fat version of Stanton's Finery still so don't worry.
