Hi everyone,

Today we're announcing the rollout of our new age assurance options, which you can read about here. Thanks to some changes we've made, most of you will not have to take any action at all.

Here's the TL;DR:

Since our last post about teen safety, we've had to launch age assurance solutions in more places, including Texas and Brazil. Laws requiring age assurance are expanding around the world. Rather than waiting to be told how to do it, we're launching our own privacy-preserving approach: one that reflects your feedback and which means more than 90% of you won't be asked to confirm your age.
You can check your age group status at User Settings > Account Status. We've estimated your age group automatically from account signals like how long your account has existed. We don't look at your messages, calls, or other content. We're launching this over the course of this week, so it may take a few days to reach your account.
If you're in the adult age group (18+), nothing changes. If you're in the teen age group (13-17), you can keep messaging friends, joining voice calls, and participating in non-age-restricted servers, but with additional safety protections that block age-restricted content, spaces, and settings. Otherwise, Discord works the same.

Reporting a Bug

The most valuable thing you can provide in a bug report is steps. If you’re able to provide steps to reproduce a high priority issue, it will dramatically improve turnaround time on a fix.
Screenshots or videos are also useful, especially if you can’t reliably reproduce it. We highly recommend editing them to not doxx yourself. Not only does it help contextualize the issue, but watching it occur can sometimes provide information that helps us identify and fix it.

Example Bug Report

Feature: Keybinds.
Reproduction Rate: 1 to 10 - This is a score of how easy/consistently the bug reproduces, from 1 meaning “very hard to reproduce” to 10 meaning “i can consistently make this happen”
Annoyance: 1 to 10 - How annoying is this bug to your daily usage of Discord, from 1 meaning, “not that annoying” to 10 meaning “this bug really truly sucks please fix this as soon as possible.”
Device/System Info: Pixel 7, Android 13
Discord Version Info: Stable 263796 (739ec78) Host 1.0.9032 x86 (43225) Windows 10 64-Bit (10.0.19045)
Description: Toggle Mute keybinds are no longer functioning.
Steps to reproduce:

Create a keybind for “Toggle Mute”.
Join a voice call with another user.
Press the “Toggle Mute” button.

Self-explanatory title. I can see the server tag on mobile, but not on desktop. And I can't even select it on either. It still functions (at least, on my end) when tapped on as expected, though. Somehow not visible for anyone else at all?

I also asked them where can I see general updates about Bounties in my reply, no answer to that yet though.

Support Old possibly unclaimed account

Hi! I have had an account open for over a year, and I recently somehow managed to open another account with my email. I have the username of the old account, which I thought I claimed, but now I'm wondering if it's not because I can't access it just by opening Discord anymore. I know it still exists because it's in a server that my new account is also in. Is there any way to get it back?

Feature Requests Badges should be customizable beyond just "hide" or "show"

Now that I have access to the beta, I honestly was pretty disappointed to see I couldn't choose which badge to display of the ones that evolve on my profile. It feels like a perfect opportunity, given only Nitro members can adjust where badges appear on the profile anyway. Why not add another layer to said customization?

It'd be appreciated as someone who wants to display the emerald Nitro badge, and I'm sure some of the other badges like the evolving boost badge would see others select as well.

Support Can't download discord and when i had it it would not open.

So yesterday discord was working fine then later i could not stream my game so i closed it and reopend then it said it was updating but it was taking way long so i download a new installer and it was the same so i deleted it from my pc then tried to do a fresh install but that didn' work so i let it on the update screen for some hours but it never finished and now i can't even download discord from the official website anymore it just dose the loading circle symbol insted of downloading it i look up things to do like delete my appdata and stuff & changed my DNS so right now im using the website. :(

Support Black screen images bug

On android app when tapping an image to view it in fullscreen it's black, only slightly moving it or zooming make it visible. Is there any fix for it?

I'm sharing this for the awareness of this issue because it is still not resolved.

3 year old bug btw.

I'm on Android 10, Poco F1 LOS.

Support Sudden camera lag while in-game potential fix?

Ever since this morning I noticed that my camera would start getting choppy whenever I started playing games, even though this didn't happen before. Whenever I alt-tabbed out of the game it stopped lagging. I tried turning hardware acceleration off and back on but nothing changed it. I tested this through the browser app as well and it didn't happen there

I don't know if this is something to preserve resources or something? But yeah, the way I fixed it was by not just disabling my activity privacy, but specifically disabling whatever game I'm playing at the moment (In the registered games menu). Even if the activity privacy thingy was set to off, the game name was still displayed above my name, and turning that off made my camera just... Not be all choppy

Edit: turns it it WAS something to preserve resources, it was Game Mode in the settings!

Support Showing invisible/offline when online

When I open discord it shows my friend is offline when she is online and vice versa. We check out status and we are online but it still shows. We have to close out the app and reopen it for it to go back to normal. Been happening for about a week now and I have no idea what could be the cause of it.

Support Discord suppresses all background audio while screensharing audio

Hey all,

I've been searching all around the internet trying to find a fix for this for quite a while and haven't found one. For context, I'm not a streamer or anything of that sort and only use screen sharing from time to time to give my mates the option to watch me play a game or watch a movie with me. I have the SteelSeries Arctis Nova 3 headphones, though I don't believe that would have anything to do with screen-sharing audio (correct me if I'm wrong). Anyway, no matter what I stream, whether it's a video game or a movie, the audio always has a muffled sound to it, like my computer is doing some sort of noise cancellation for the audio. You can hear the voices fine, though you can tell it's a little fuzzy, and a lot of the background noise or music is cut out to an extent, leading me to believe my computer/discord is doing some sort of noise-cancellation processing for the audio.

This is only a problem I have while sharing my screen; the audio is perfectly fine when it comes through my headphones. A temporary fix I have found is to route the audio through my microphone using a virtual audio cable so the audio plays through my mic instead of the stream, though that's extremely annoying for others in the call. It also means I can't talk while doing it.

I've tried many different methods outlined online to fix this. I've checked all of my Output and Input devices on my computer; there are no enhancements enabled on any of them. It isn't anything related to the server/channel the voice call is in; my mates who live in my area can stream without problem. While this isn't a major problem, it's extremely annoying when someone wants to watch my screen but ends up with noise-cancelled audio on it.

If there's anything I left out in this post that might help you narrow down what the issue is, feel free to ask. I can provide any information about the settings of my SteelSeries GG Sonar or Discord settings.

Any help would be appreciated.

Support Nitro Tier Reset - is it bugged?

I've been a Nitro subscriber for 5 years. Today, I noticed that my badge tier has been reset to 1 (I previously had the highest tier). Has anyone else encountered this bug?

Additionally, since then, I have been boosting a servers continuously. Over this entire period, I’ve only had two boost credits available once, and that situation lasted for maybe a day, or two at most. But my badge progress wasn't reset at that time.

- I have not changed my subscription plan.
- My payment method is valid and active.
- There are no outstanding payments or failed transactions on my account.

So I'm dealing with this problem on my servers where it'll specifically mute certain groups and I'm not sure why. Yes I do RP but here's an example. I talked to my other side and they said it wasn't muted. I thought it was one of the creators doing it because they don't care for my character that much...it's a long story but yeah. Any help??
