A "minimalist" browser game

Thumbnail gallery
3 Upvotes

Hi,

Since the genre is quite dead in 2026, I do not plan on turning this into a full-time project

Yet, I am still creating this childhood's dream project: a strategy browser game with simple rules, interfaces and mechanisms, based on rules I have thought through for years and years.

The underlying idea here is that the player IS the ruler, and as the ruler you communicate through letters with a Scribe to communicate simple informations and orders:
1) Check stuff
2) Build stuff in one of your city
3) Raid a city neighboring one of your city
4) Siege a city neighboring one of your city

The game could basically be played through SMS or emails, and is supposed to feel like a historical book. It works through synchronized turns, each action takes a certain number of turns and a cost, costs are paid through gathering taken on your population once every 12 turns ("moons").

The first version I had created was a literal interactive novel, immersive but not playable at all, so here this is a compromise design.

Does it feel clear? Playable? Unfinished maybe?

I know that these kinds of design are now associated with Claude, but it is actually very close to the "default HTML" styling

Hard edge vs. blended photo: which works better?

Post image

Made this poster for a fictional trail app called Trailwise. I’m trying to decide between a hard photo edge (left) and a blended fade into black (right). Mainly wondering which one works better, and how the hierarchy and text readability feel. Genuine feedback is appreciated!

Created this promotional social media post concept for LuxuryC, focusing on a clean, premium tech aesthetic with soft blue gradients, bold typography, and a product-focused composition.

I wanted to create a futuristic yet minimal look while keeping the headline clear and the product as the main focal point.

Would love to hear your thoughts! What do you think of the typography, colour palette, composition, and overall visual hierarchy? Any suggestions for improvement are welcome.

Is my portfolio ready for book design and editorial illustration jobs?

Hi everyone!
I’m a graphic designer based in Argentina, and I’m looking to move toward book design and editorial illustration.

My professional background is mainly in graphic design and production, and I’ve also worked on personal and academic projects involving book design, illustration, and visual identity. I’d like to start applying for opportunities in publishing and editorial work, and I’d appreciate some honest feedback on my portfolio.

Portfolio: https://www.lucianasalomon.com
The last section is password-protected. The password is luciana2026.

I’d especially love to hear your thoughts on:
Does my portfolio demonstrate enough skill and potential to start applying for book design or editorial illustration roles?

Is there anything important missing from my portfolio?

I’m open to constructive criticism
Thanks for taking the time to look!

Looking for opinions and feedback on my game poster

Hi Everyone!

I'm hoping to get some feedback on the vertical capsule designs I've been working on for my game.

The game is a synthwave/outrun style space shooter, and I was trying to go for a sort of retrofuturism look for the poster.

Any and all feedback is greatly appreciated!

My Restaurant Menu Design Concept | Urban Bite 🍛

Hey everyone! 👋

I’m a graphic designer currently building my portfolio, and I’ve been working on a premium biryani restaurant design concept for a fictional brand called Urban Bite.

I created two designs using a black and golden colour palette:

- Design 1: Promotional chicken biryani poster

- Design 2: Premium restaurant menu design

My goal was to create a luxurious, professional look through typography, colour contrast, food imagery, and layout.

I’d really appreciate honest feedback!

- Which design looks more professional?

- Does the menu feel premium and easy to read?

- What would you improve in the typography, spacing, or layout?

I’m still learning and would love to hear your suggestions. Constructive criticism is welcome! 🙌

Homepage for a B2B `printing, packaging, stationery items, and printing machinery supplier`
https://new-alamin-enterprise-v1.vercel.app/

Target audience: Procurement and admin officers (25-40) at large organisations (banks, telecoms, NGOs, pharma, education), plus senior approvers (40-55) who need to trust the company fast.

Goal: Look big and reliable on the first screen, then get them to request a quote.

Judge it from their point of view: what would make them leave, doubt us, or not ask for a quote?

Feel free to offer candid criticism.

Roast my educational website

Hey everyone,

I'm working on a personal finance education website, and I'd love some honest feedback on it.

Link: https://finidojo.com

Some ideas on where to give feedback:

  1. What's your first impression of the website? Does it give you a clear idea of what it does? Does it look sus?
  2. How inclined are you to click the button to start the first lesson?
  3. Does the lesson display / navigation / content feel good? Is it sus or cringe?
  4. After finishing the first lesson, how inclined are you to click the button to start the next lesson and also authenticate with Google to sign in?
  5. By the time you hit the paywall in the second lesson, do you feel like the product has built enough trust to convince someone to purchase?
  6. Anything else I should know?

Please don't hold back - brutally honest feedback is very helpful and much appreciated. Thanks!

Looking for feedback on my progress with a design for some custom coasters I want to make

I took the feedback I got on my first rendition (seen on the second slide) and have refined the design to the final sketch stage and would love some more feedback before I crack out the vectors!

Any feedback is appreciated! I would especially like some crit on the two potential colour schemes (more colourful on the left, more minimal on the right). I want the design to be reminiscent of vintage beer branding/coasters

Critique on the top bar (notch) UI in a Windows app

I’m working on Pastidy, a Windows clipboard app.
The main UI is a small bar at the top of the screen.
It opens into tabs for clipboard history, notes, and timers.
I’m trying to make it feel out of the way until you need it.
I’m mainly looking at the open and close behavior and the clipboard list layout.
I can post screenshots in the comments if that helps.

Website UI critique: which first action does this stock-learning homepage communicate?

https://estockes.com/

I'm Elon, the developer of Estockes. I'd like critique of the homepage's visual hierarchy, not a product endorsement.

The intended audience includes someone who has never bought a stock. The page offers an English beginner course and a synthetic scan example, with workspace and chart links too. I'm concerned these starting points compete before a new visitor knows what any of them means.

One question: after a quick look at the first screen, which single action does the design make you think you're supposed to take first?

If competing buttons or labels make that hard to tell, that's the issue I'm trying to identify. No signup, purchase, broker connection or trade is needed to inspect the page. Critical feedback is welcome; please leave personal and financial information out of comments.

Most artists are broke and know 0 about marketing.

Post image

I started working in big music proyects as a CMO and clients were very happy because we've got one of the best results of the world.

But the day to day was very "tasky" and we used to have like 6 different platforms just for marketing and they weren't even that good.

So i took all my knowledge (and the hundreds of millions of streams generated) and decided to invest into building my own software

to help artists, producers and labels with a platform that does pretty much the hard work for them

-Create upto 5 videos within 2 minutes with viral lyrics templates

-Use the advanced video editor (similar to capcut) to make Videoclips or advanced tiktok videos.

-Create landing pages / smartlinks to promote your music and track the data with clicks, views, utm, source, etc

-Analytics on other artists with Monthly revenue and streams.

-Check your monthly revenue.

And we are working on adding soon our best product:

Meta ads campaigns specifcally optmised for songs and playlists. (my strongest knowldge)

Design critique wanted: does this live 3D satellite globe make sense in the first 10 seconds?

Looking for a design critique, not promotion. Site: orbitracker.com

It is a free live 3D globe showing satellites (Starlink, ISS, GPS and other constellations), with a launch schedule and a Sky View that predicts passes over your location.

Specific design questions: 1. On load, is the main action obvious, or does the globe just look pretty with no next step? 2. The constellation layers are color coded. Is that legible, or noise? 3. Sky View has to explain time, height, direction, and visible vs just overhead. What would you cut or move so a first timer gets it instantly? 4. Mobile: what breaks first for a data heavy globe like this?

Please be specific about layout, hierarchy and wording. General praise does not help.

My New Portfolio

Hi everyone, I’m Eduardo, a graphic designer from Brazil (branding, UI/UX, social and packaging/3D). I just relaunched my portfolio and I’m looking for honest feedback from people in the field, especially if you’ve hired designers or reviewed portfolios before.

Is there anything I could improve, or learn, to make it stronger for recruiters? First impressions, what works, what doesn’t, what you’d cut: anything helps. Be as blunt as you like.

Portfolio: eduardovdesign.com.br

Thanks in advance!
