Just wanted to post something for all the mobile users who are not aware of the sidebar. We get at least a couple posts a week looking for advice about equipment, how to connect things, etc. and most people these days seem to be on mobile reddit so are not aware of a thing called a "sidebar" or sub rules.
Basic questions about setting up DJ equipment should go to /r/beatmatch , or /r/DJs if they are more advanced technical questions.
Also please refrain from posting youtube videos of your mixes, even if they technically include video of your DJ setup. This subreddit is intended to share your setup, not to promote your mixes / youtube channel / etc.
Thanks!

Did you buy a new piece of gear? Awesome! Have fun with it. Set it up, and you can post the pictures here.
But don't be lazy and only photograph the box. That is not a setup and will be removed.

Our DJ setup is part of a bigger audiovisual project called DELTA. We’re a three-person collective from Belgium: one person on music, one on live video direction and one on lighting. Everything comes together as one performance, rather than a standard DJ set with visuals added afterwards. Here’s the setup in action: [YOUTUBE LINK]. What would you change or add to a setup like this?

Setup from a night at Technobase (Amsterdam based event): the booth's two CDJs and Xone, and in front, a third deck I built myself (TriMixxx). It's a Raspberry Pi 4 running a fork of Mixxx, with a jog wheel salvaged from a CDJ-1000MK3, my own boards for the buttons and pads, a 10" touchscreen and a 3D printed case. All of it is open source.
How it fits in the booth: it goes into a spare channel on the mixer like any player, and with an Ethernet cable it joins the CDJs' Pro DJ Link network as one more player. It syncs with them both ways, loads tracks off their USBs, and they can load off the sticks plugged into it. It reads rekordbox USBs as they are, playlists, grids, cues and waveforms included.
The stuff I added because I wanted it in a booth:
Build log and more pics: https://trimixxx.e1n.sh
Code: https://github.com/usr-ein/TriMixxx
What would you want a third deck in the booth to do?

CDJ 900s & DJM 250mk2
working on CDJ 2000s (not nexus)
I’ll probably come up on a DJM 900srt after that.

I used to bedroom dj when I still lived at my parents about 15-20 years ago. When I moved out into shared houses and flats the DJing stopped completely as a bit antisocial. I ended up getting rid of the equipment and then eventually sold the vinyl as assumed I’d never use again but obviously wish I’d kept!
In recent years I’d started listening to more and more dance music again so decided to get back into it. I’ve got no interest in cdjs or mp3 controllers etc and am only interested in vinyl. However, with no starting collection DVS is essential for now but I still do all of my mixing via that or physical records.
I always wanted Technics when I was younger so got 1210 mk7s. I got the A&H Xone 24c for the soundcard but have since picked up a Traktor Audio 6 interface so that I can switch to analogue mixer in the future. I now play Dub Techno / Deep House / Minimal House etc so a rotary mixer (currently thinking Henderson Model X) could be coming in the future. I hated having to fit a full laptop into the set up so now have this separate and run Traktor to a small screen for track selection and use this with a Bluetooth mouse. The initial budget went on the decks and mixer so I have cheap old amp and speakers and they are the next priority to upgrade. The unit is Kallax with a bigger desk top on it as I found it very cramped initially. I’m trying to go for a minimal sleek type set up.
Any questions or comments please fire away!

Finally pulled the trigger and pimped my entire audio set up : Rotel 1210 amplifier, two reloop 7000 Mk2, Ortofon Concorde DJ MKII needels. Xone 96 mixer, Debut Elac debute b6 on Gravity SP 3102 stands, William Morris wall paper and Gustave Klint poster. Still need to find two art nouveau style wall spots and going to start to integrate Traktor. It all sounds fantastic together.

Finally got my home DJ setup together! I've been playing on a Reloop Mixtour with an iPad for a long time, so this is quite a jump 😁 Mostly playing deep, hypnotic and groovy techno.
The setup:
- 3 × Pioneer XDJ-700
- Allen & Heath Xone:96
- Focal Shape Twin studio monitors
- Focal Sub One for some extra low-end pressure
Really enjoying the 3-deck workflow and the Xone's analog feel. The filters are just amazing! Still learning and experimenting with longer blends, layering and creating hypnotic transitions.
The Focals sound incredibly accurate and detailed, with a very neutral, uncolored sound and great frequency range. Really happy with how they perform. Focal Sub Onegives some extra low-end pressure. Love it so far.
Not quite Berghain, but the neighbors might disagree. 🖤

So... I posted my setup recently which triggered a LOT of people as the screen was not centred. It was only off centre as I was using an existing hole in the desk from an old (broken) monitor stand. Did it annoy me? Yes... Could I live with it? I could, until Reddit got involved. 😂😂 The more I looked at it, the more it annoyed me! Well, Reddit won!! The screen is now centred. Better? 👀🤞

Hey guys! I just wanted to share some quick pictures of my latest setup, and I think this might be my final setup.
I posted some pictures before but took them down because my room was really messy. Well, when I say “room,” I mean my dining/living area, so please excuse that. I’m sure y’all can relate. You move things around to set up your equipment and practice, and then you have to move everything back. So that’s what you see going on in the background, along with my Halloween tree.
Anyway, I play in two different projects. One is specifically focused on controllerism and turntablism along with my bandmate on bass in a live performance setting.
For my other project, my solo project, I basically have this controllerism rig with live keys added to it.
Now, when I say “live keys,” I don’t mean I’m improvising keyboard parts over the songs. I’m actually playing the keyboard melodies for each song. I export the notes note by note and load them into the keyboard, which I use as a sampler. That way, I don’t have to download a huge sound library onto my MacBook Air.
Let me run you through the equipment I have:
Two Traktor Kontrol F1s
One Traktor Kontrol S4 MK3
One Akai MPD218
One Novation Launchkey Mini 37 MK4
One dual-screen portable monitor
One mini audio interface
The dual screen is running MainStage, where I have all the different patches for the Launchkey Mini 37 MK4.
Meanwhile, Traktor is running on my MacBook Air, which is connected to the setup as the host.
Here’s how everything works; the first F1 is dedicated to the background sounds I play between songs. Since I’m not necessarily performing a DJ set, but rather a live electronic instrumental pop set, I have things like birdsongs, ocean sounds, and other ambient noises playing on Deck C while I load different songs and remix sets.
I use the Traktor Kontrol S4 MK3 as a four-deck mixer.
Deck A contains the live versions of all my songs. These are versions where I’ve removed certain synth parts and other elements that I want to play myself using Decks B and D.
Deck B is a live input that lets me control the volume and output of my Launchkey Mini 37 MK4.
Deck D is a Remix Deck that I control using both the second Traktor Kontrol F1 and the Akai MPD218. I use both controllers to give myself more room and flexibility for expression during performances.
So, yeah, while it might be a pain in the butt to set everything up, but I’m really happy with it.
It looks like a Gundam, and I feel like I’m piloting one, lol.
I’ve named this rig my Custom 001.
The only other thing I forgot to mention is the mini audio interface. Nothing too fancy. I’ll probably upgrade it eventually because I’m getting a slight bit of feedback, which might be because this interface is about 16 years old.
The other challenge is that I can’t arrange everything exactly how I’d like to while practicing at home. I have a show coming up on the 24th, along with a few more shows after that so, hopefully I can set everything up in a V formation for those performances, with all my DJ controller gear on the left and the keyboard and dual screen on the right.
That way, I can stand in the middle and have everything within reach.
I think that would be pretty cool.
Anyway, please excuse the mess once again. Y’all know what it is.

Complete beginner setup, but I think it’s super cool!

Sold my 1210's years ago when everything went digital, and regretted it ever since. Recently picked up a mint set of 1210mk5's to go with my DDJ 1000SRT. Then, decided I wanted everything to match the speakers (rather than the cheaper option of matching the speakers to the rest of the equipment 🙄) Had the decks serviced, new RCA cables, internally grounded & purple light kits. Then wrapped everything in white vinyl dj-skins. Happy with how it all turned out. The turntables hold their time, perfectly 👌 and it all looks super clean in white, imo. Everything just changes to whatever colour the lights are set to 😁
Also have the Yamaha Subwoofer down the side of the decks. Sounds 🔥🔥🔥

I know it’s not the tidiest setup, I’ve spent all my budget on equipment. I have a design/plan in my head to try and emulate (in a bedroom studio way) AvB’s ASOT aesthetic.
Anyway, it’s 2 x 1210 mk7, Allen & Heath Xone 43, Beyerdynamic DJ 300 Pro X Club headphones, a vintage Technics amp and Wharfedale Diamond 7.1 speakers.

No more renting sound for gigs. I’m the proud owner of two JBL EON715’s
