Beware of cult recruiting! I’ve seen this posted every few months but today it happened to me. Was approached by a ‘study group’ cult person at tilde cafe outside Davis square. Read posts like this one for more info on them. A recruiter (older guy) came up to me and followed the “can I ask you a question for my class” and “where do you find meaning in life” script to a t. It makes me sad to have to be guarded against predatory tactics as I love friendly interactions with strangers! This is just a reminder for anyone who hasn’t heard of them yet.

Hi Cambridge neighbors,
I’m Harshad, owner of Firebox Pottery Studio. I’m posting with the moderators’ permission, under the Brand Affiliate flair since this is my business.
Firebox is a new community ceramics studio at 9 Lexington Street in Waverley Square, Belmont. It’s an easy trip from Cambridge: the 73 bus runs from Harvard Square right to Waverley, and the Fitchburg Line stops there too. There’s street parking in the neighborhood if you’re driving.
Our opening-quarter classes are starting now, with options for complete beginners, developing students, experienced potters, and kids and families. We’re lucky to have a great group of ceramicists teaching with us. Adult skill-building classes include:
We also run community-oriented classes, including a Women’s Explorations in Clay group that meets every Sunday.
We believe students need real studio time to improve, so enrolled students can use the classroom for practice whenever a class isn’t in session.
Additional courses start through October 27. The full schedule, descriptions, prices, and registration are here:
https://www.fireboxpotterystudio.com/classes
Experienced potters who just want access can join as independent studio members, with a separate members-only area.
My goal is to build a studio that supports people in developing their own voice in clay, whether that’s a weekly hobby or a path toward professional practice. I’m always open to suggestions on how we can shape our offerings around what the community wants.
Happy to answer questions about choosing a class, studio membership, or getting started. And feel free to reach out to schedule a tour: I’m giving tours now, including for anyone thinking about starting in November, and you’re welcome to see a class in action.

I know that gas is expensive. I currently live in a three bedroom in a three family with two roommates and we're curious, can some folks give us an example of what we might expect to pay per month for average usage?
Kind of wondering if we should do an energy audit.
Thank you!

Was laid off from job and am back on the hunt, got 2 different zoom interviews tomorrow and my dick landlord is having contractors build new cabinets in my kitchen and the drilling noise is obviously gonna be an issue.

Hello! Hosting a Halloween party on the 30th in Cambridge and looking to book a face painter for the event. Perhaps important to note that event caters to young adults, not children. Does anyone have any recs? Can provide more details via dm once serious inquiries are established. Thank you!!

I'm looking for some fun buttons for kids' halloween costumes. Is there any place around Cambridge where I can buy interesting buttons? I'm aware of Michaels' (where selection is mediocre at best) and of Gather Here (which I never visited for buttons). Anywhere else?
(for what it's worth I ordered some pretty good buttons off Etsy, but there was a shipping mishap and now I'm not going to get them in time)

Since her account was deleted and we are all being bad talked about in her other platforms, what game plans does anyone have to help her two boys because at this point I’m unsure where to start ? She is refusing to listen to any advice we give her. We have offered her personally tons of legal and mental health aid. She has turned down everything and resorted to doxxing her own children, their address, their school, etc. While she refuses help what could we POSSIBLY do for the boys.

I learned that the Harvard Krokodiloes have been doing 150 concerts in and out of Cambridge every year for 81 years! Does anyone know when their next performance is?
