Finally, I've made my little dream come true, and I've built my own little bouldering gym. Tomorrowy, I will put up the holds and I have to admit, I'm so freaking excited about this.
I don't really know if this Reddit sub is the right place to post it, but I just want to shout it out loud in the world. I also would like to ask you if you have maybe some advice or interesting ideas that I could also apply in that room: maybe a little mini gym or some rungs, or I don't know. I'm open for everything.
Train hard, climb harder!

found under the grand illusion cave in little cottonwood canyon wood canyon.
a note was attached to the boulder that reads “Hello, my name is Portable. I am a famous boulder from Squamish. One night I became shockingly inebriated after consuming a ball of peat moss and doing several lines of Mica powder. In the deep darkness beneath the shadow of the Chief, two figures, also shockingly inebriated, approached me. They asked me where my home was. I told them “Superfly”. In darkness I existed, for an amount of time unknown to me. When I woke, I found myself in a granite kingdom I did not recognize. Surrounded by towering walls of granite I [illegible] here, gathering stories, and watching the [illegible] around me breath (sic). But now, it is time I go home. If you find me, please take me home to Squamish! - Portable”

Went to number 8 of my project to climb in all Dutch bouldering gyms (64 total right now). This one was Beest Boulders in Rotterdam. Best one so far. Can really recommend going there. The gym is on the 7th-9th floor, great views and great setting :)

It’s my third time bouldering, and I’m really enjoying it. This was my second time try this line. But each time, I have run completely out out of strength at the exactly same spot. I’m bit confused now, should I keep trying until I can make it or should i focus on improving my physical strength first.?
I’ve also come across many different techniques on social media. I’m curious, did you all seek out specific training when you were first starting out, or did you just figure things out through trial by you? I’m considering signing up for some courses, but to be honest, I’m worried that I might not be able to afford private lessons.

Hello! I am a rock climber coming up on a year of the sport! I’ve recently been working on moves I’m not fully familiar with (running toe hook starts, coordination moves, etc.) and one that has piqued my interest is paddle dynos!
I currently climb v7 as my push/project grade, with v8’s being where I’d like to break into! With that, I found a very fun dynamic v8 in my gym that has a paddle. I’m a big fan of dynamic moves, though, I am slightly directionless on where I am making shortcomings movement-wise. Provided this video, would anyone be open to giving feedback on where I may be making mistakes or tips you may find helpful in projecting a move like this?
Thank you so much in advance! Looking forward to chatting with yall :-)

Hi! I’m stuck on the transition to the big sloper. I need to get my right hand on the sloper and switch my left hand to an under grip. So far, if I do one before the other, I fall off. But also if I do both at the same time, I fall off lol. Would really appreciate suggestions!!

Call me crazy, but I am a board fanatic, I love the difficulty of going on the board and getting a serious struggle grabbing holds, even just volume days I find so much more fun. Just trying to find other board addicts, my personal favorite is the TB1 (even though it's not the one shown) because of how hard it is.

I am 15 years old and I have only climbed at crux climbing center. I have been climbing for about 3 1/2 months and around 4-5 times a week. I can pretty consistantley climb v5s and some v6s at my gym and i just recently sent my first v7. I feel like I am progressing almost too fast so does anyone know if crux grades softer than normal? (here is the v7)

Fun double arete problem in Morrison Colorado! Cool use of toe and heel hooks and compression to get to the top.

Heading out on a roadtrip to Joshua tree for the first 2 weeks of November, curious of what the best boulders/bouldering areas are from anyone that has been there/around the area. I do have boulder project and use it religiously for outdoors although midwestern bouldering is quite mid to say the least so I fear this will be a different ball game.
I climb v7-8 indoor so not much is off the table in terms of what I will try. I will be coming from Ohio so any recs of outdoor boulders or good indoor gyms on the way are also welcome!

What hobbies and sports might scratch the itch for climbing when you’re unable to climb?
I had a nasty climbing accident a while ago and have been told I won’t climb again (Paraclimbing is out as the risk of climbing is too great sadly). I can use my legs, but cannot run, and have limited arm strength particularly on one side where I have very little use of one hand. I have always loved adventure sports, the feeling of the sun on your face as you’re high up in the mountains, and just being in nature. Looking for ideas of things that I could try and would love to hear from other peoples experiences of things that help give the same joy as climbing, which used to be what my life revolved around.
Ideally looking for an adventure sport because I’m too hyperactive for my own good! Thanks in advance for any recommendations 💛

In my quest for improvement I have been watching many videos about climbing techniques. Unfortunately I always go into the gym ready to try out what I learned (lets say a drop knee technique), but cant find many places where I can practice it in a meaningful way.
Is there a resource where I can filter for something like drop knees and see a bunch of moonboard/kilterboard/whateverboard climbs with drop knee moves? This would be nice to have for more focused practice sessions. I know I can just make up my own moves, but that feels way less interesting than a move on an actual climb someone has set.
I assume the answer is no, but I am holding out hope.

I posted this like a week ago and asked for tips I think I’ve gotten better at it.
