REMINDER: Sales of Zinwa Devices is NOT Allowed
As a reminder, sale of modified devices such as those from Zinwa is NOT allowed.
This is for a multitude of reasons but most importantly there have been issues with people buying up the already limited stock for the sole purpose of reselling them at a profit. We are not saying everyone who has ever sold one is guilty of this but it is not our job to interrogate every seller and try to figure out their real intentions (people lie anyways).
All that being said, it looks like the announcement post got removed by accident (likely by me when I was cleaning things up) so I am not going to action on any recent posts but if it is seen again we will be taking action against said users.
Sale of unmodified devices is permitted as always.

blackberry app Modern Monkeytype wouldn't load on my BlackBerry Q5, so I made my own: BBType (Native 720×720, zero dependencies, physical keyboard shortcuts)
Every time I tried opening Monkeytype on my Q5, the browser threw CSS errors and died. The physical keyboard is way too good not to use for typing practice, so I just built my own lightweight version called BBType.
It's sized properly for the 720×720 square screen and mapped for the physical keys (Space submits, Backspace jumps back into previous words to fix typos, Tab restarts). It has dark & light paper themes, a results graph, and runs 100% offline.
You can sideload the APK (~25 KB)
Let me know what you think if you try it out on a Q5, Q10, or Classic!

blackberry app Built an Anki client for BB10 — syncs perfectly with AnkiWeb if anyone else is still using one of these
Hey everyone,
I've been using a BlackBerry 10 as my daily driver, and one thing I really wanted was a way to study Anki flashcards on it and the problem was that every existing AnkiDroid release crashes on BB10 the app was never built with Android 4.3 (API 18) in mind, and modern Anki's database format (Schema 18) didn't exist back then.
So I built one from scratch. Honestly I've been having a lot of fun lately just building the apps I need to make this phone actually usable — this one took the longest but also ended up being the most satisfying.
What it does:
- Fully works on BlackBerry 10 phones (tested on Q5, Android API 18, 720×720 display)
- Two-way sync with AnkiWeb — study on your phone, open Anki on your PC and it's already up to date, and vice versa
- Supports modern Anki's Schema 18 database format (the same format Anki Desktop 24+ uses)
- Full FSRS support — memory states (stability, difficulty, etc.) are written in the exact format Anki Desktop and AnkiWeb expect, so FSRS scheduling works correctly across devices
- Deck counters sync properly — if you finish your 30 new cards on the BlackBerry, your PC shows New: 0, not 30
- All your deck options (new cards/day, learning steps, review limits, FSRS retention %) set on your PC are automatically applied on the phone after syncing
- Physical keyboard shortcuts for answering cards (1/2/3/4)
- Force Upload / Force Download buttons in case sync gets stuck
Download / Source: 👉 github.com/warumpas-ops/ankidroid-bb10
The APK is attached to the latest release. If you're on a BB10 device and want to run Anki, give it a shot. Happy to answer questions!

REA usage on blackberry devices?
As of lately, a lot of discussion around Reverse Engineer Anything and its use on software was bought to attention by other developers....
I really wanted to prove if my theory (that it is possible to pull results with it on bb devices) is right, but i simply don't have time to actually do that. :(
But as a question to devs 🥇 around this sub, has anyone tried to at some degree RE on their devices, using it to maybe find exploits that enhance any capability of them?
I mean like unlocking the bootloader of the blackberry Priv and the later androids (TCL made) blackberry's, just like what the Russians did to the key2 (If anyone still has the website saved i appreciate lol), or even maybe the bbos10 devices
If i'm not mistaken i read somewhere that somebody did try to RE it (and went pretty far), but stopped due to not having a reason to keep going (or not motivated idk, don't quote me on that)
But maybe it is possible to find more vulnerabilities and hack into them, as i believe the worst part by far is the first step, and maybe with all the explosion on AI RE maybe this step can be "cheated", or at least vastly speed up, i just wanted to bring this up in case of some dev that either did not consider this approach, or to maybe find someone that was successful on it
(IMAGE UNRELATED, JUST FOR SHOW)(ALSO CANT STOP DREAMING OF PURE CUSTOM LINUX ON THE PASSPORT 👀 )

Support Question Blackberry Classic issue
Hello, I recently replaced the battery on my Blackberry Classic, but a problem persists:
it shuts down for no reason at a random percentage, and once it restarts after one or two minutes of charging, it returns to 100%.
Has anyone else encountered this problem, and if so, do you have a solution? Thanks you

BB Classic User environment setup for Classic and similar models (without android)
This whole setup is still in progress, as I would like to build it thoroughly and will soon release the repo.
Here is the non-exhaustive list of things that will make your bb classic usage fun and somewhat efficient.
Requirements:- another phone (your daily use or some cheap smartphone)
Install termux and some packages (varies)
- AI assistant : Juice ssh on bb, and termux ssh bridge. Basically controlling termux on phone via bb classic. You can I install pi coding agent on termux and enjoy the customisation of the terminal based agents.
- SSH bridge: this is most useful, as we have already established it for ai assistant you can use it for data sharing and anything else that you can think of.
- Whatsapp: the trickiest thing, the best way for me was baileys api and a custom webpage. Building a better solution.
- Sim+WhatsApp in the same phone is not possible with this set-up I guess.
- A good browser (you'll find it on crackberry)
- Devloper released apps (also on crackberry), try Discord.
This somewhat sums up what I have tried recently. Try experimenting with termux.

Blackberry keyboard + Nintendo circle pad = perfect Linux phone
This would allow you to use desktop Linux on your phone. The BlackBerry keyboard can be used for typing stuff like commands. The circle pad can be used to control the mouse.
I'm assuming the BlackBerry keyboard will be good enough because of the amount of people that loved typing on them. I got my first phone after phones stopped having physical keyboards.
Does the keyboard work for all the special characters used in programming?
