Read This Before You Submit !
If you want to get the best possible outcome from posting your position on this /sub, there are a couple of things you can do to help,
- Make your video at least 30-40 secs long [ no longer than 60 secs ] This will allow you to settle in to your pedal stroke and give viewers enough time to 'look around' your position.
- Post a minimum of 2 angles. #1 Seat height, showing the entire bike and rider from the top of the head to the bottom of the pedal stroke. #2 from the front dead center about head tube height. If you shoot a vertical format on your phone that might help you fit yourself within the frame. #3 from the rear, at seat height, can also be vertical format for cropping.
- Post a shot of your bike side on without you on it. This lets people see the 'build' as far as seatpost seatback, seat rail position & headset spacers
The more visual and information you give the better the possibility of good feedback.
Ride on!

Dear mods, save this sub
There are a lot of generous and knowledgeable people here giving thoughtful bike-fit advice for free. Their effort is being undermined by a steady stream of unusable videos showing riders leaning against walls, doorframes or furniture while pedalling backwards.
Those clips don’t show a normal pedal stroke, balance, loading, posture or movement under realistic riding conditions. There’s very little anyone can assess from them, yet they keep filling the sub and drawing attention away from posts where useful feedback is actually possible.
The existing submission guidance is already clear about video length, camera angles and showing the whole rider and bike. It should also explicitly require riders to pedal forwards on a trainer or rollers, without supporting themselves against anything.
Please make “no backwards pedalling and no leaning against objects” an actual submission rule, and remove posts that ignore it.
The people giving detailed advice here are what make the sub useful. Their time shouldn’t be choked by videos that make meaningful assessment impossible.

Knee Pain after 30 min
Hi,
After about 30 minutes, I start to feel pain in my left knee. I notice it mainly on the outside of my kneecap. Is my posture correct?

Dropped dropped 10mm from last vid and switched from 170mm cranks to 160mm

Saddle pain
After 30 minutes of cycling, I start to get saddle soreness. Does anyone have any idea what might be causing this?

Elbow pain
I am 6,3, 225lb, bike is 61cm
Hello all, currently a MTBer, first road bike. I just assembled and took it for a 1 hour ride. I am getting pain on the inside (medial aspect of my elbow) “golfers elbow.” I have dropped my saddle 5mm since the ride.
Research seems to say either too stretched out- get a shorter stem, or saddle too high.
Currently using my MTB shoes and pedals until I can find a good deal on some Road ones.
Any input is greatly appreciated, thanks

What do we think boys?
No major issues.
Toes sometimes feel like they’re going numb but goes away when I wiggle them - wonder if saddle is too far forward
Thanks!

110 stem, 170mm crank, 54 size,173cm height. Never had a bike fit. Adjusted the seat height and saddle fore-aft since 2021 on the Factor O2 V2. No neck, shoulder, palm, or back pain. Sore sit bones 24 hours after 70 -100km rides.

Fitting advice Endurace M 178/84
Hi,
The struggle with the position...
Tried a lot of saddles, same problem... seat discomfort after about 60 minutes, too much weight on the hands.
RH is M, I'm at the lower limit of this frame.
80mm stem instead of 100mm original, saddle all the way forward, according to Canyon the seat post has 2mm seatback, in this mounting variant (Flip-Head)
Reach feels pretty alright with 80mm, the seat does not.
I’ll get some advice.
Thanks

Gravel bike fit preliminary thoughts?
I think perhaps my saddle is slightly too high and my 80mm stem is too long.
Appreciate any and all feedback!
The pointing of the toes... It's a habit I've been doing for years at this point.

How am I looking?
Been cycling for about 6 years now. Video is at sweet spot power for me (~270w). Position has evolved a bit over that time to be a bit longer and lower but not much. I've ridden with this position (except 10mm higher front end then) over 11 hours without issues. I do get some saddle sores maybe once a year on my right side, although I know the cause: I have some pelvic torsion that leads to some asymmetry over time.
It's interesting seeing this video, it definitely looks different than it feels. Definitely a good bit of hip rocking going on. I'm riding saddle all the way forward on the rails as when I move it back I always want to sit more forward on the saddle, yet it does look too far forward here. I did recently go from 172.5mm cranks to 165mm. I'm 5'10" and this a M Giant Defy but I have fairly short arms. I wouldn't say I have too much pressure on my hands. Saddle position definitely looks too low, I have moved it up 2-3mm since then and it does feel better. But better too low than too high. When I start going too high I feel like I lose control on the right side as its functionally shorter than the left due to the pelvic torsion. Clearly its a sustainable position for me because I do anywhere between 6-12 hours per week on it, but I'm sure it could be much better. Just curious to hear the hivemind's thoughts. Unfortunately I don't live near any good bike fitters. Let me know if you have any follow up questions.

Impressions on my bike fit?
Aside from slight but not uncomfortable pressure on my hands, I do not suffer any lasting pain during my rides and I generally feel okay after.
Attempting to get settled position
As title, had a fit a few (…8) years ago when first bought this as did a lot more mileage (done around 1k km this year as getting back into things slowly).
Trying to get comfortable again but keep shifting around and feeling a bit stretched out, had some numb feet/backside and tight quads on recent outings after about 40mins - any obvious pointers that people can see? Thanks in advance!

3 options on my Peloton Bike…any feedback? Height 20, 21, 19 as labeled in the video.

On longer rides, a lot of pressure builds up on my hands, and my knees tend to get fatigued before my leg muscles do.

General posture and bike adjustments?
When im on the drop handles it feels like there more pressure on my hands. Not sure if that’s a bike or core issue.
Someone mentioned to me that maybe I need a slight shorter stem to bring the bars closer so there’s less reach
Bike is 60cm, posted a less zoomed in version in comments

Kona Rove AL sizing advice needed: 52 or 54 for 5'8" with a 30.9" inseam?
Hi everyone,
I’m considering buying a Kona Rove AL 700, but I’m a bit confused about the sizing recommendations and would really appreciate your advice.
I’m 5'8" (173 cm) tall, with an inseam of 30.9" (78.4 cm).
According to Kona’s sizing recommendations, someone my height should be looking at a size 52 or 54. However, the published geometry chart lists a standover height of approximately 30.9" (785 mm) for the size 52, which is exactly the same as my inseam.
Doesn’t that seem a little contradictory? I would expect to have some clearance between the top tube and my crotch when standing over the bike, especially if I want to use it comfortably for everyday riding and longer leisure rides.
Am I misunderstanding how Kona’s sizing recommendations or standover measurements work? Could the actual clearance be sufficient because of the shape of the top tube, or would a size 52 be too tight for me?
Given my height of 5'8" and inseam of 30.9", which size would you recommend: 52 or 54? I’m looking for a comfortable, relatively road-oriented fit rather than an aggressive racing position.
Thanks in advance for your help!

New whip to dial in
I use myvelofit to get things as close to ideal. I tend to have pretty tight/sore muscles between my shoulder blades after rides (on all my bikes) which I assume comes from the forward weight I am putting on my arms and my reach. I have my saddle almost all the way forward here to keep reach minimal and my knees over the spindle. Anything worthwhile to note adjusting that can address the tightness between shoulder blades? Stem is 90mm, zero setback seat post, crank arms are 160, Frame is 51, I'm 5'6".
