NOTE:This is not part of a "disinformation campaign". It is one of many posts stating what is both known and proven about Atlantis -- a subject involving more speculation than the stock market, and more fiction than Æsop's Fables and Grimm's Fairy Tales put together.

The story of Atlantis has fascinated people for centuries. Many books, movies, and television programs have explored the idea of a lost city that disappeared beneath the ocean. Some people believe Atlantis was a real place, while others continue searching for evidence of its existence. However, most historians and scientists agree that Atlantis is a myth simply because there is no reliable proof that it ever existed, and its story likely began as a fictional tale.
• The Story Comes from a Single Source: The ancient Greek philosopher Plato wrote about Atlantis around 360 BC in his works "Timaeus" and "Critias". According to Plato, Atlantis was a powerful island civilization that sank into the sea after a great disaster. No earlier records mention Atlantis, and no other ancient writers provided independent evidence that such a place existed. Because the story appears only in Plato's writings, many scholars believe he invented it to illustrate his own philosophical ideas.
• The Lack of Archaeological Evidence: Researchers have explored many parts of the world, including the Atlantic Ocean and the Mediterranean Sea, looking for traces of the (alleged) lost civilization. Despite these efforts, no ruins, artifacts, or other physical evidence have been found that prove Atlantis existed. In history, important civilizations usually leave behind clear signs of their presence. Since no such evidence has been discovered for Atlantis, the claim that it was real remains unsupported.
• The Theologic Symbolism: Many details of the Atlantis story seem more symbolic than historical. Plato described Atlantis as an advanced society that became corrupt and was punished "by the gods". This theme matches the moral lessons found in many myths and legends. Scholars often view Atlantis as a cautionary tale about pride, greed, and the misuse of power rather than a factual account of a real civilization.
: : Atlantis is widely regarded as a myth because: (1) its story comes only from Plato, (2) there is no valid archaeological evidence to support its existence, and (3) its message resembles that of a moral allegory about hubris. While the alleged mystery of Atlantis continues to capture the imagination of people around the world, all available valid evidence very strongly suggests that Atlantis is merely a fictional story rather than a real place from history.
Atlantis is widely regarded as a myth because its story comes only from Plato, there is no archaeological evidence to support its existence, and its message resembles that of a moral legend.
~10,000 BC: Runoff from glacial melting begins to raise sea levels over a period of hundreds of years. Villages and settlements close to the ocean shore were likely inundated and lost under hundreds of meters of sea water. The collective human memory of this event may have been the origin of "Great Flood" stories in nearly every human civilization, and may have eventually inspired the myth of Atlantis.
~9660 BC: Plato wrote in "Timeus" that the island continent of Atlantis existed about this time, "... situated in front of the straits which are by you called the Pillars of Heracles".
~6100 BC: About this time, the land area known as "Doggerland", between England and Denmark, is devastated by a sudden sea level rise due to a tsunami from the Storegga Slide. This is one of the many possible explanations for the origin of Plato's "Atlantis" myth.
~5600 BC: Approximated date of possible Black Sea inundation; this alleged event is one of the many possible explanations for the origin of Plato's "Atlantis" myth. The Mediterranean Sea, swollen by melted glaciers, breached a natural dam that separated it from the fresh water lake later known as the Black Sea. Sea water from the Mediterranean poured in for as long as 2 years.
~3200 BC: The first known Egyptian writing, in the form of hieroglyphs, appeared around this time. This early writing system was used for various inscriptions, including those found in tombs and on pottery.
~1650 to ~1625 BC: The volcano Thera (now known as Santorini) in the Aegean Sea, erupted. The explosion of Thera about this time released energy equal to 200,000 H-bombs. One of the many possible explanations for the origin of Plato's "Atlantis" myth.
~0630 BC: Birth of Solon, in Athens, Greece. Modern knowledge of Solon is limited by the fact that his works only survive in fragments and appear to feature interpolations by later authors and by the general paucity of documentary and archaeological evidence covering Athens in the early 6th century BC.
~0564 BC: A character in two of Plato's dialogues, "Timaeus" and "Critias", claims Solon visited Neith's temple at Sais about this time and received from the priests there an account of the history of Atlantis.
~0560 BC: Death of Solon, in Cyprus, Greece. The few spurious pages that have turned out to be the very words of Solon -- The Memoirs of Solon -- made no mention of Atlantis.
0427 BC: Birth of Plato, a Classical Greek philosopher, mathematician, student of Socrates, writer of philosophical dialogues, and founder of the Academy in Athens -- the first institution of higher learning in the Western world. Along with his mentor, Socrates, and his student, Aristotle, Plato helped to lay the foundations of Western philosophy and science.
0373 BC: Destruction of Helike; one of the many possible explanations for the origin of Plato's "Atlantis" myth.
~0360 BC: Plato writes "Timeus" and "Criteus", mentioning the alleged destruction of mythical Atlantis. He claimed that an Egyptian priest confided information about Atlantis to Solon, the Athenian legislator, whose memoirs Plato claimed to have read.
0347 BC: Plato (b.0427 BC), the most distinguished student of Socrates, dies at the age of 80. His real name was Aristocles. "Plato" meant "broad" and he was known to have broad shoulders. He was a prolific writer and considered by some as the most important of all Greek philosophers. His works were all in dialogue form and include: the "Apology", the "Symposium", the "Phaedo", the "Phaedrus", and the "Republic".
~0800 AD: Heracleion was submerged by the sea and sands. Heracleion, also known as Thonis, was an ancient Egyptian city near Alexandria. It was known as early as the 12th century BC but its importance grew during the waning days of the pharaohs, the late period. Herakleion was Egypt's main port in the time of the pharaohs. It was famous because it was believed that Helen of Troy and Hercules had visited the city, and that the city had even gained its name from Hercules. There was also a large temple dedicated to the Greek hero at the city center. Pharaoh Nectanebo I made many additions to the temple in the 4th century BC The city sank in the 6th or 7th century A.D., probably due to major earthquakes and floods. Some believers in the Atlantis myth have claimed that Plato actually predicted this event in his books "Timeus" and "Criteus". The ruins submerged in the sea were finally located and rediscovered by the French underwater archaeologist Franck Goddio in 2000.

Since about 800 AD, much speculation concerning the Atlantis Myth has occurred, with no valid physical evidence to 'prove' the existence of Atlantis.
They were said to have spread out after it's collapse so could this explain why some cultures, especially usually the elders who are typically also theost wisest, have white hair aswell?
A ring of light in the sky, a volcano awakening and a city sinking beneath the sea. "Fate Of Atlantis" tells the story of the legendary ring city's fall, and of the survivors who carry its legacy into the world. The priestess Ariadne and the sea-king Gadeiros flee across the ocean. Their path leads to the Nile Delta and the pyramids of Giza, to Lake Titicaca and Machu Picchu, and on to the shores of Crete and the Palace of Knossos. What remains is a memory still sleeping inside us.
A dark-mystical, hypnoticepic, cinematic journey through the heart of the vanished city of Atlantis!
I believe I have now a good candidate for Atlantis. To understand my article I would like to ask you to take a look at my previous ones. I believe that the plateau southern of the Chott el Djerid is the plain described by Plato and the Cotts the remnants of the former Tritonis Lake.
If we accept that the equator according to Hancock was real, we must also accept divergent sea levels because of the growing centrifugal forces near the Equator. The complete Mediterranean Sea was about 30° closer to it, so the sea level must be higher at that time.
Dry shorelines are an indicator of changed sea levels. At Chott el Djerid, they exist at an elevation of 40 m (confirmed), with others suspected at 60 m and 90 m.
One of many examples of steep slope above 90m
Here you can see the extend of the lake at various water levels.
A sea level approximately +40m is easy explained. It corresponds to the level the Chott's reached during the humid period. At a level above 40m the Chotts would overflow into the Mediterranean Sea.
The minority of shore Marker are at +60m. Many of them are at the entrance to Mediterranean sea.
Shore markers at +90m can be found around the chotts, especially on it's northern side.
Conclusion:
The sea level at that time could be at least +60m higher than today.
Because of Isostacy - the chotts are now dry - the former Tritonis Lake was another 30m deeper.
2. The Pillars of Heracles:
According to Sarantitis there where many different locations for the Pillars of Heracles in the ancient time.
At the time when that land-bridge was submerged by the sea, the Mountains to the north and south must have presented an impresive sight (like pillars).
At the narrowest point, there is one outstanding mountain to the north, as well as a mountain range to the south that tapers toward the north. Could these both have been the ancient Pillars of Hercules?
Furthermore, given that a salt mountain (Djebel Hadifa) and the Atlas mountains also stands within sight, the question is, as these are also the Pillars of Heracles meant by Herodot (IV.185). In this case, there would be no more missing stations of his journey, because he was already at his destination, we only missunderstood his Book. His Quote "However, the belt extends as far as the Pillars of Heracles and also in the parts outside them" makes also more sense than at Gibraltar.
3. The Islands:
There are two - maybe three - Islands at +90m in the Tritonis Lake or should I call it the Pelagos of Atlantis?
a. West of Tozeur:
Here we have one great candidate. An Island with the correct width of about 5km above +90m directly in line between Tozeur & Nefta.
If the initial wave have come from the east, so a large amount of debris would have been swept westward. (As can be seen in the image)
The secondary lower wave moved in the opposite direction—toward the east—and carried away some additional debris.
In this case, the island would have been not that long before the event.
b. Northeast of Tozeur:
This island was to small and could even have been a landbridge.
c. Southeast of Kebili:
This island is a match in size but it lacks any notable topographical features.
Unsuspicious hill east of Douz.
4. The mud in the Gulf of Gabes:
According to Plato the former entrance to Atlantis is silted up and unnavigable.
I think it's very interesting, that the most of the mud in the Gulf of Gabes is in line with the former outlet of the Tritonis-Lake
5. A hint from Diodor:
In my opinion Diodor was a great collector of ancient writings, but not reliable when it comes to cross-referencing his sources with one another and with proven facts. So he is the true library of myths! Many of them could be true, some of them would be fiction, but I consider his books valuable enough to be included on this work.
The Tritonis-Lake lost it's entrance to outer Sea (so called Ocean) during an earthquake. (Diodor III.55.3.) In my mind it must have been an extreme Earthquake or the region liftet up after the flood & earth crust shifting according to the former Equator of Graham Hancock.
this post i will try to gather any information regarding the Unwritten doctrines that are claimed to provide clarification on understanding the dialogues.
"writing is static, unable to respond to questions and fails to adapt to the listeners understanding"
According to Graham Hancock there are many ancient Sites placed on one so called Equator. I call it the Prehistoric Equator.
I created that Equator with Anchor Points at Richat and Angkor Wat. Here you see the results.
0° at Richat, 36° Egypt is close (Qattara Depression is uninhabitable)
.
72° at Mohenjo Daro / 108° at Angkor Wat
.
252° At Easter Island / 288° Inka realm
It matches really good to ancient cultures and sometimes to their most important mythological sites.
My Theory:
What if that Equator was real 12.000 Years ago? According to Earth shifting Crust.
What if the Flood was real and Atlantis sunk in one day and night?
After such a devastation it would be reasonable to spread civilisation all over the world, to survive also the next horror.
What if they actually dit it - dividing the former equator into ten segments, each spanning 36 degress, to achieve maximum distribution - and then sent expeditions to each of those longitudes to foster the civilizations we know today?
Additional Questions:
Why did Yonaguni, Gunung Padang, Nan Madol did such a good match to that Coordinate System?
Only small adaptation is needed: Skaling of 3% at the reference point Angkor Wat

one thing to consider and not mentioned in the video is that the Climate was a savanna grassland when the paintings were created.
check out his map of the people near this area, going back to my previous post on the warao people and the myths of their main island to the west.
The Basque language is unrelated to other language families and they claim to have stayed broadly culturally isolated. However genetically they're similar to the rest of Europe in that they're some part Hunter Gatherer, some part Anatolian Neolithic Farmer and some part Western Steppe Herder.
Their mythology is brief. It's shown in the dark green in the diagram below. Alongside it I've shown extracts from Sumerian, Norse and a little bit of Greek theology trees and made some possible connections.
The Basque gods aren't explicitly described as a continuous theogony tree in the available source but there are indications for which chunk came first given that as goddesses Eguzki and Ilargi are described as grandmothers whereas Mari is described as only a mother.
People may disagree with the links to Sumerian and Norse but I think there's potential here. The Basques emerged out of the Proto-Indo-European milieu like other European cultures. If we accept that myths trace the migrations Europe millennia back into the early Holocene then we would expect continuity.
The strongest link is Sumerian Enki to Eguzki/Ekhi. They are phonetically similar and both are the children of a Mother Earth figure. I think it's possible that the Basque Mother Earth figure may even relate back to Sumerian Lahamu due to the 'Lur' name, but this may not be the case. (Clearly the Basque pantheon is a truncated skeleton of the of the Sumerian and other Indo-European trees and it's possible to see how different gods could have become merged under one figure.)
Enki also has links to the sun via his children but if Enki could be either North Africa or Anatolia, as I currently think he could be, then it doesn't really pip down the location.
Looking at Indo-European trees broadly, I really think that these mythic couples relate the same group mixing event:
To explain these, from what we know of these gods collectively I think that the 'Sithon' male figure represented early migration of farming people who have settled in south Anatolia in 7500 BC and I think his wife, 'Mendeis' represents regions of southern Greece and Italy which at this time is still the territory of the Western Hunter Gatherers although I think these people must have been the Titans. Soon after they must have become the kingdoms of Atlantis/Enki, a Levantine group expanding from the Levant through North Africa. That's not to say that the Western Hunter Gatherers of Wester Europe became Levantine at this time but that this was the dominant ruling force.
Perhaps the Sattungr/Saturn related to Italy given that Sattungr's child is Gunnlöð who is associated with poetry like the Titan Mnemosyne (Atlantean Mneseus) who I think is in Italy.
I imagine there could have been a royal marriage between the Western Hunter Gatherers of South Greece and the new Levantine Farmers around 6700 BC when the farmers move into South Greece. North Greece remained Western Hunter Gatherer until the 8.2ka Event in 6200 BC, and time of the sinking of Atlantis and deluge in Greece. I think North Greece was seen as Uranus/Tiamat.
The question is whether the Basque Mari + Maju/Sugaar could represent this same pair if it existed. Suttungr is an interesting link to Sugaar, and Mari as representing mountains and cave spirits could align to Hunter Gatherers living in southern Greece.
Atarrabi escapes being forced to produce flour. The Igigi were forced into 2500 years of labour, I make the link but I'm not sure. The next story is the origin of agriculture so you might claim it makes sense to come before this but there's a logic to suggest that if there was agriculture under Enki in North Africa, that maybe some Iberomaurusian slaves escaped into Spain in 6000BC? Taking their language with them, and then returned back to a hunter gatherer lifestyle? Only to want agriculture again at a later date, I don't know.
The next part of the Basque myth is very informative. The story goes that the nearby Basajaun start practicing metallurgy and agriculture which is then stolen by Martin Txiki and taken to the Basques. The earliest metallurgy found in Spain dates to just after 5000 BC. Agriculture appear to arrive in the Basque country earlier in 5600 BC and metallurgy as late as after 3000BC. Our metallurgy data is pretty spare, farming however had followed the Atlantic coast of Iberia as far as France by 5000 BC, I think it's possible metallurgy was occurring to a small degree in this area. The Basques are on the opposite side of the France-Spain neck, and this area matches details of the story.
Basajaun is therefore the Pisces/Tartessos people who may have taken in a large portion of the fleeing Levantine Atlanteans.
Lastly the Jentil. This word is though to be adopted from Latin 'Gentile' but we have no proof of this, it's possible that this is a rare occasion of a common word type, it's also similar to the Norse Jotnar and both Jentil and Jotnar mean giants. Jentil becomes associated with the megalithic Dolmens of 3500 BC, so that one's pretty self explanatory.
This is where my combined Indo-European tree attempt is at currently. The marriage mentioned before is shown to the left of the blue Cronos box.
So there's a "1.5 mile" deep canyon under the Nile according to Randall Carlson (based on out of date data, It seems to not actually be this deep but indeed there is a canyon under the Nile. This is fact)
THEORY
....and there is also supposedly artificial structures or deep cutouts found (supposedly) under the pyramids of Giza ( recent Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) tomography (combined with seismic micro-movement analysis) scans show multiple vertical tunnels dug down into the rock) that are reportedly 650 meters deep......and the structures are claimed to be around 38,000 years old....so did they dig them from the side of the canyon up? Rather than from the pyramid down?
I can't really see why you would dig shafts that deep under the pyramids should these scans be proven true. Could it be to draw water up into the pyramid from the canyon?
It's highly interesting that they both have the same sort of measurements of depth.
Carlson seems to be quoting older models suggested that the Mediterranean sea messinian salinity crisis caused a drop of sea level by 1500 meters - the empty bath tub theory - but a "2022 study that carefully restored the buried Nile canyon to its original shape" suggests the actual drop was ......around 600 meters, coincidence?
If like me you had no idea there was a canyon under Cario and the Nile please view the video titled:
"The hidden grand canyon beneath the Nile river"
On youtube. It's fascinating.
So was the canyon used to dig these tunnels many thousands of years before the pyramids themselves were built? (Probably not no but it's a cool idea)
TLDR: The rectangular plain of Atlantis and the circular ditch surrounding it have the same perimeter length. This is a reference to the classical mathematical problem of "squaring the circle", or to be more exact "rectifying the circle", which Plato popularized as a mathematical problem and philosophical symbol. Basically, "rectifying the circle" is a riddle about solving for the value of Pi, and Plato has encoded this ancient dilemma into his dialogue.
Detailed Analysis
The upcoming portions go into more detail and can be long winded. I fully expect this to be criticized, so I'm trying to cover all my bases. Also, Plato just leaves a lot of clues to talk about.
Interpreting the Shape and Dimensions of the Plain
In the story of Atlantis, from the Critias dialogue, Plato describes a large plain on which the city of Atlantis resides when he says "I will now describe the plain, as it was fashioned by nature and by the labours of many generations of kings through long ages. It was for the most part rectangular and oblong"
Plato provides dimensions when he goes on to state the plain is "smooth and even, and of an oblong shape, extending in one direction three thousand stadia, but across the centre inland it was two thousand stadia."
What we can gather from these passages is that the plain is a natural feature that has also been modified by humans over multiple generations. The shape can be simplified as a 3 x 2 rectangle.
If we assume the plain is a perfect rectangle, then the perimeter would come out to be 10,000 stadia and the area would be 6,000,000 stadia squared.
One reason to assume the plain is a perfect rectangle comes up when Plato provides dimensions for plots of land. He wrote "each of the lots in the plain had to find a leader for the men who were fit for military service, and the size of a lot was a square of ten stadia each way, and the total number of all the lots was sixty thousand."
Lot Shape = Square
1 plot of land = 10 stadia x 10 stadia = 100 stadia squared
Total Lot Area = 100 stadia squared x 60,000 lots = 6,000,000 stadia squared
Plain Area = 6,000,000 stadia squared
So, if a perfect rectangle is assumed, then the area of the plain is equal to the total area of the lots based on 2 separate descriptions. It's reassuring to see consistency throughout Plato's numbers. It seems more intentional.
Oblong
However... Plato refers to the plain as "oblong" twice. Why would he provide rectangular dimensions while also making a distinction that it is oblong? Oblong usually refers to a rectangle, but it can also refer to any shape that is longer than it is wide, such as an oval.
This is where the surrounding ditch starts to play into it.
The Ditch:
There is a ditch, or moat, that surrounds the plain. Plato refers to it as a "circular ditch" when describing the shape. Plato goes on further to say "it was carried round the whole of the plain, and was ten thousand stadia in length."
We get a little more clarity regarding the oblongness when Plato refers to the edge of the plain as "where falling out of the straight line followed the circular ditch". Meaning, the plain has straight edges that only curve when intersecting a surrounding ditch. Basically, the plain is a rectangle with radii, instead of 90 degree angles, on each corner. The radii on the corners of the rectangular plain are formed by the surrounding ditch. This would better fit the description of "for the most part rectangular and oblong"
So, we can deduce the ditch was most likely a circle, or even perhaps an oval, and encompassed the entire plain. Where this gets interesting is when Plato said the length of the ditch was "ten thousand stadia in length". If by “length” of a circle he means circumference, then the circumference of the ditch has the same perimeter as the plain, which is 10,000 stadia. A visual representation of these shapes is shown below.
A rectangle with dimensions of 2,000 x 3,000 centered on a circle with a circumference of 10,000. The units don't matter since we are dealing with ratios.
Ditch Shape: Circle
Circumference of Ditch = 10,000 stadia
Plain Shape: Rectangle
Perimeter of Plain = 10,000 stadia
Plato is outright stating the perimeter of the rectangular plain is equal to the circumference of the circular ditch.
Rectangle Perimeter = Circle Circumference
It starts to present a dilemma and Plato knows it.
Rectifying the Circle (Squaring the Circle)
Definition of Rectifying the Circle:
"The challenge of rectifying the circle is the classical geometric problem of constructing a straight line whose length is exactly equal to the circumference of a given circle using only an unmarked straightedge and a compass.”
So… we defined the plain as a rectangle and the ditch as a circle, both with equal perimeters. We can find the perimeter of the rectangle by measuring the sides with a ruler and adding up the dimensions. Then, to draw a circle with the same perimeter, we need to set the compass to the correct radius, but we don't have the value for the radius. We do have a value for the circumference, since it is equal to the perimeter of the rectangle, but we don't have the radius of the circle. You could theoretically solve for the radius, by using the value of Pi.
In Plato's time, the value for Pi had not been fully discovered yet, although approximations existed. For general use, the number 3 could be used to get rough calculations and was probably used in antiquity. Eventually, the ancient Babylonians landed on a value of 25/8 (3.125) for Pi around 1900BCE. Later on, the Egyptians reportedly had a value of 256/81 (3.1605) by 1650BCE. Afterwards, Archimedes calculated Pi to be near 22/7 (3.1428), but this was after Plato's lifetime.
The approximations for Pi could provide a circumference that was very close to, but not exactly equal to the perimeter of a square or rectangle. It was a challenge in ancient times to solve this dilemma, essentially referred to as "rectifying the circle". It is more popularly known as a similar problem of "squaring the circle", which is basically the same thing, but it involves area instead of perimeter.
It was a brain teaser for ancient mathematicians. Their approximation for Pi could get close, but never exact with the mathematical tools and methods available at that time. It wasn't until 1882 when it was proven that Pi is a transcendental number, meaning you cannot solve for Pi by using algebraic equations with rational coefficients. Basically, you can't solve for Pi using fractions and algebra. The ancient Greeks did not use the decimal point, they only had fractions. This is why it was such an intriguing phenomenon to the ancient Greeks. No matter how hard they tried, they just could not get their equations to result in a perimeter that was an exact match between square and circle. Plato himself was well known for being influenced by, and heavily interested in, the riddle of solving the exact value of Pi.
Plato Popularized the Challenge of Rectifying the Circle
He's even the one that made up the rules to use only an unmarked straightedge and a compass. Plato was highly against using curved tools, such as the Quadratrix, to solve the problem. He felt it violated the rules and strayed away from the original intent of the game. The intent of the game is to basically solve for Pi. Curved measuring tools cannot be used since Pi is naturally built into the curvature of the tool.
Perhaps more importantly, Plato used this mathematical enigma as a metaphor and incorporated it into his philosophical teachings. These geometrical problems were even taught throughout his academy. To Plato, a true circle was a representation of perfection. The rectangle represented the limitations of reality.
It is through all these connections that we can determine Plato is very intentional with the numbers and shapes he is using when describing the Atlantean plain and ditch.
Overall Meaning
So, why would Plato include this mathematical riddle in the story of Atlantis? One take is that it goes hand in hand with the story by symbolizing the perfect society the Atlanteans strived for and ultimately fell short of. Maybe it shows the Atlanteans were highly intellectual and incorporated the value of Pi into earthworks. It could just be that Plato really enjoys this mathematical problem and included it into one of his dialogues as a riddle for the reader.
Finally, it shows that Plato is placing hints through his texts. He is very intentional with his word choice and numbers. He doesn't outright state anything about rectifying the circle, but it is in there, buried within the fine details. We can’t assume this is the one and only single instance Plato does this. These ideas, hidden behind numerical values and molded by descriptions, are likely placed throughout the Timaeus and Critias dialogue, and perhaps other works by Plato.
If you found all of this interesting, keep an eye out for Part 2 as I speculate that Plato provided an estimated value of Pi in the Critias text and Atlantis is involved once again. It will be titled something like:
The Atlantis Plain & Ditch: Plato's Estimation of Pi (Part 2)
It seems obviously on old maps that it’s in the ocean between Spain and Africa, the island of Atlantis is like literally next to it. Has anyone checked out the coast of Cádiz in Spain? It seems pretty obvious, instead of the others rumors in Azores or Richart Structure. Even seen a few articles where they found a ship wreck carrying Orchidium.
Amongst his summary thoughts Ben Van Kerkwyk states that he thinks the flared designs of Egyptian columns with lotus flowers or palms may have been inherited motifs from a prior culture. He infers that some of these flared leaf designs are found even on some of the precise granite artefacts he's interested in, I think.
He mentioned lotus flower or palm leaf designs but actually the most common pillar leaf is the papyrus umbel.
This is papyrus:
PapyrusPapyrus mats on the Nile in South Sudan
This is a distribution map. During the African Humid period this belt around tropical Africa would have expanded up a bit.
Papyrus map today
These are some papyrus inspired Egyptian columns.
These are some Sudanese people harvesting papyrus.
This is what a real papyrus column could have looked like.
This is a quick ChatGPT mockup, the beam doesn't make sense as wood if the column is papyrus but whatever
There is also this common column shape.
Which could be the representation of a bucked column perhaps.
The Egyptian Ra-Goddesses tend to carry a papyrus-ended-staff rather than the Was-sceptre and these goddesses might be linked to Atlantis. Bastet also commonly carried a basket, which could have been made of papyrus. This is some of these goddesses plus their children.
I think it could have been that papyrus was abundant around Atlantis and, yes although not mentioned by Plato, perhaps some buildings were made of papyrus and the motif of papyrus columns was brought to Egypt by fleeing Atlanteans? It could be it developed in Egypt without any help as well, but I think the papyrus-ended-staff link is interesting.
I like the fact that this guy, Ben van Kerkwyk, picked the niche topic of granite vase measurement and has made it interesting. This is a pretty long video and I didn't watch all of it but the end summery from 1hr 16min 30secs in, is good and it's interesting that he's approaching the idea of Egypt having inherited a past culture from his angle of artefact precision.
Elements and specific artefacts from other sites might be older and I that the style of architecture, imagery could probably came from a pre-Egyptian people. I'd even go so far to say writing could have predated Egypt by thousands of years.
I also disagree with some of his opinions, he infers that the pyramids might be older than we think which just can't be the case because we know for certain that they were built in the reins of Khufu and Khafre so that's an unfortunately take. I also disagree with his framing of this past culture as being especially advanced. He uses terms like "machining stone" which implies ancient power tools which poor use of language. They didn't even have metal before 5000 BC or we would deter the smelting. Following this I also don't think there was a 'global cataclysm' that destroyed their advanced knowledge because again I don't think they had advanced knowledge. Nonetheless that doesn't rule out that there could have been a pretty well developed civilisation prior to Egypt, making vases, sailing the world. The reason that this would be poorly recorded could be because the records turn into what we call myth over time.
I think there was a migration from West Africa into Egypt at the end of the African Humid Period and that some of these people may have included people from Atlantis, at least those that didn't settle in places like Spain and Southern Europe. More speculatively I think these arriving people may have led to the concept of Horus and the construction of the Sphinx. We can't piece together everything but this guy makes the point that denying that there was any developed culture or civilisation prior to Egypt is itself a theory, an unsupported theory, and one that doesn't align with artefacts we find and evidence in myth and accounts.

Looking at the east half you can spot the zodiac signs between other gods and goddesses. This sequence starts from Aries, Aquarius, Pisces and so on to Cancer. Then the western side starts with Capricorn and runs through to Leo.
This is a little odd because the order reverses, you might expect the west side to go Leo to Capricorn but it goes backwards, there appears to be a reason to all this which we'll get into.
east side
This is a close up of the east side, the people face to the right so it reads right to left. In the top row are the zodiac amongst other gods and goddesses, You can see Aquarius holding some water jugs on the left and then Pisces further left half cut off.
There are twelve goddess with stars above their heads in both east and west zodiac sequences and either are called the night hour goddesses, which we can infer as the twelve goddesses of the Amduat, given that with is a story of Ra through the night with a goddess named for each hour.
This is a closer view of the same scene, you can see the nigh hour goddesses with stars on their heads and there are also other gods like the falcon-headed man in the middle.

Now, the Amduat appears to be a timeline of the Holocene with each hour being around 720 years (each hour is also a map with south as up) at least that number works well, giving us this:
Amduat hour and period
10,400 BC - 9,680 BC
9,680 BC - 8,960 BC
8,960 BC - 8,240 BC
8,240 BC - 7,520 BC
7,520 BC - 6,800 BC
6,800 BC - 6,080 BC
6,080 BC - 5,360 BC
5,360 BC - 4,640 BC
4,640 BC - 3,920 BC
3,920 BC - 3,200 BC
3,200 BC - 2,480 BC
2,480 BC - 1,760 BC
We can draw this conclusion because these time periods align with historical events such as:
Wheat and cows significant to Hour 2, matching their first cultivation/breeding,
Black blades as opposed to white blades appearing in this hour, like obsidian,
A number of pillared-people in both Hours 1 and 2 like the Tas Tepeler,
In Hour 4 we see depicts of the routes to Rostau from the Book of Ways which we separately can identify as routes into Humid Africa, this hours aligns to when these routes would have become accessible,
In Hour 8 everyone is weaving when weaving takes off,
In Hour nine linen is being produced en masse in the top left where Egypt is,
In Hour 10 lakes are a key feature on the lower register and there is higher than normal fluctuations in European lakes at this time and more people living around lakes
In Hour 11 there is the unification of upper and lower Egypt crowns.
In Hour 11 at the bottom (north) there's also an invasion of easter people at the time the Steppe people take over Europe.
In Hour 12 Egypt expands east just as Egypt expanded east into the Levant.
Therefore the night hour goddesses between the zodiac signs book-end each sign into a date.
We already know the region of each Zodiac sign by way of association of the sign (and the three decans), they are:
Cancer - Anatolia
Leo - Mesopotamia
Virgo - Levant
Libra - Egypt
Scorpius - Cyrenaica, Libya
Sagittarius - Tunisia
Capricorn - Morocco
Aquarius - Mauritania
Pisces - Iberia
Aries - South France
Taurus - Italy and Greece
Gemini - Balkans
So the night hour goddesses bookend each Zodiac sign in the linear Dendera Zodiac, giving us pretty precise dates for each. Why would each region have a date? This could be a key period in history associated with each region, like their golden age perhaps. We can plot these dates on a graph (it might have made things a bit confusing showing the time horizons for a first and second wave of stone lith technology on the same graph especially as the second wave didn't correlate with any key periods but oh well, the first wave is imporant for some alignments especially Plato's two stated time periods).
The pink dates are these dates from the Dendera night hour goddesses and for each I've noted a real historical event around that period for the region. These are pretty significant events supporting that this way of reading the Zodiac regions and their key periods might be correct, but of course this is merely a Reddit post where I'm putting this idea on the table and for a journal entry a full statistical model of all important historical events of each region would be needed.
Given that both halves of the Zodiac also contain a bunch of other gods in the timeline and there's a whole other parallel timeline below each half with boats and more figures we can only guess what else can be uncovered.
I've been reading Atlantis stuff on and off for about three years. Started with the normal historical arguments, wandered into past-life regressions, and somehow ended up in channeled books. Didn't plan it that way.
I don't treat any of it as proof. It's just weird how little they contradict each other once you strip the style.
"6. And many chiefs of the stars shall transgress the order (prescribed).
And these shall alter their orbits and tasks,
And not appear at the seasons prescribed to them.
And the whole order of the stars shall be concealed from the sinners,
And the thoughts of those on the earth shall err concerning them,
[And they shall be altered from all their ways], Yea, they shall err and take them to be gods."
