Hi everyone, I'm 25, a military veteran, and I'm determined to see my name in the end credits of a film one day.
I'm hardworking, ambitious, and coachable, and I'm ready to put in the effort. Right now I'm trying to break into the industry, but I don't have a portfolio yet, and I don't know anyone in film to create with. I've been learning from podcasts and interviews, but I know that can only take me so far.
I'm looking for:
• A mentor willing to guide me
• A creative person or team who'd let me join and learn on set or on projects
• Any advice on where to start
If you're open to taking on a mentee, or you know of groups, programs, or communities I should check out, please comment or message me. You're also welcome to share an email or other contact info.
I'm serious about this and respect your time as much as I hope you'll respect mine. Thank you, and God bless you all.
📍Atlanta, GA

My friend made a semi-horror style short film about a Pretty Boy Wrestler! He is looking for some help to get the money to submit to some film festivals, reimburse volunteer crew and actors, and to share the film with as many people as possible! Check it out! Share/help out if you’re able! Thanks!

Hey all, I’m an editor based in Flowery Branch, so north of the city, but willing do the drive!
I’ve been editing professionally for seven years, mostly fast-paced gaming content. That’s taught me a lot about rhythm, pacing and holding attention. Now I want to put those skills toward narrative work and music videos, which is where my heart actually is.
What I’m into: character-driven drama, anything horror-adjacent or unsettling, and music videos that feel more like short films than performance clips. If you’ve seen Hiro Murai’s or Taylor Sheridan’s work, that’s the kind of tone I gravitate toward.
What I’m offering:
Editing for shorts and music videos (rough cut through final)
[color / sound sync / whatever else you’re comfortable doing]
A second set of eyes on structure and story. I like being involved early, not just handed footage at the end.
I’m open to low-budget or unpaid projects if the work is something we’d both be proud of. Mostly I want to find people to make things with consistently.

Hello, new to reddit and looking to connect with others in Atlanta! I'll be moving to the area in the next couple of months and now starting some job search. As of right now, I'm currently working at a my day job at a camera company and have two years worth of equipment knowledge, mostly photo gear but a decent understanding in cinema gear. I have a little bit of on set experience for smaller projects and do freelance photography on the side.
I want to transition to working at a rental house and getting more hands on experience with building rigs and getting things prepped for others. I'm also interested in doing some PA work, but not too sure where to start looking. I would love some advice on what the best approach to reaching out to rental houses for learning/work opportunities or best places to start PA work.

Does anyone have any tips (or give me a trial run) for being a PA in Atlanta? I'm a 16 year old concert photographer but I shoot for some of the largest publications in Atlanta (Atlanta Music Guide, Immersive Atlanta, and I'm a house photog for The Masquerade and Rival Entertainment/Center Stage). I want to make my way up the ladder and in 10ish years become a steadicam op or a CO, I'm not super interested in becoming a DP but who knows how my interests will change in a decade. I mainly want to learn but also it'd be nice to have a bit more spending cash too.
My photo portfolio is at violetjacobson.com and my instagram is instagram.com/violet81901.
I would really appreciate any help with this!

Hey guys! I’m an indie filmmaker looking for a sound designer for my final film project at DePaul University! The cut and color is done but I’ve been struggling to find a sound designer. The film is about a mother dying, and coping with her time that was wasted as what becomes important is immediately revealed to her.
price is negotiable, and based on experience, The film is is all indoors, in one apartment, it shouldn’t be to strenuous. regardless! If you’re seeking more experience this would be the opportunity! feel free to reach out if you’re interested.

Hi all -
Will keep this brief and if self-promo isn't allowed, feel free to remove. Just wanted to plug a movie I produced recently, directed by Paula González-Nasser, THE SCOUT, which is open with a few showtimes at the Tara this weekend and through the week.
Here's the trailer, and a New York Times review.
I'd imagine the film would be of interest to filmmakers for a variety of reasons - it was a very small, independently produced film, shot with about ten people over ten days. It also primiarily focuses on a TV location scout and below-the-line filmwork, which I imagine is how many of us have spent our days.
There's showtimes all week but I'll be there Monday night for a discussion after the movie, if you can make it.

Greetings! I’m Tré Statham, a Film Major at Georgia State University and I have an upcoming event I'd like to share with you all.
I’m hosting an open pitch session for my film FAMESQUE on Monday, October 5th at 4:30 pm! We’ll meet in conference room 1042 at 25 Park Place (super tall building can’t miss it).
All experience levels are welcome!!!!
I really want this to be an opportunity to get face to face with Atlanta filmmakers and connect whilst discussing the short film. I’ll cover the story, tone and additional details!
Feel free to DM me for more info. If you can’t make it, I’d gladly share a video of me going over what'll be discussed!
Thank you for your time!

Hey everyone! I’m an Indian-American actor/filmmaker based in Atlanta, and I’m looking to connect with other local actors and creators who love Bollywood/Indian cinema and would be interested in collaborating. Knowing Hindi is NOT a requirement! Anybody interested is welcome:)
I’ve been wanting to create some fun short-form projects — Bollywood scene recreations/reinterpretations, lip-sync performance pieces, cinematic character reels, and potentially some original micro-scenes inspired by Indian films.
The goal would be to make them feel like actual little films rather than just setting up a phone and recreating a scene — putting some effort into the performances, cinematography, editing, color grading, etc., while still keeping it fun and low-pressure.
Mostly looking to meet other creative people around Atlanta, make some cool stuff together, and hopefully build a little community of people who are down to actually create.
Actors, filmmakers, DPs, editors, or other creators are all welcome. Experience level isn’t super important — just looking for people who are enthusiastic, collaborative, and actually interested in making things.
If that sounds like your thing, comment or DM me with your Instagram/reel/some of your work! Happy to share mine as well. 🎥

Hello! I am a videographer that shoots for a dance team and for dancers in atl. I just wanted to know if there are any tips on getting contacts to ask people to film at certain spots. For example, is there a way I can find a contact to reach out to a warehouse/ storage unit owner to see if we could film there. This is just for youtube and for fun so there is no budget with these films usually but I was just curious what other people do or if I actually just need to only buy sets like peerspace
