Whenever one man gets assigned major blame for political change, I gotta wonder, doesn't that mean the political system was weaker than a single man? What sort of political system lets itself be weaker than one person? Surely thousands and hundreds of thousands of men from major politicians to town clerks should be stronger than one man, so why let the system be so dominated by personalities that one bad leader can subvert things? What sort of system is so reliant on the right person winning a powerstruggle? That sounds like a medieval monarchy. How can contemporary and future governments avoid such a predictable weakness?
