Hi everyone! I’m Eli Phillips. My passion is working with our youth (specifically middle schoolers!), helping them wrestle honestly with their faith, and of course, I love writing! This whole asking people to read something I’ve written is the part I’m still getting used to!
I’m looking for advance readers for The Outlaws, Book 3 in my Roots & Mirrors devotional series for ages 11–17. I'm not looking for anyone to read all 48 devotionals! I'd be happy with 5, so that way you can share which ones hit and which ones didn't. Considering each chapter is about a 5 minute read, I'm asking for less than 30 minutes!
About the book
How do you keep your faith when you are under pressure? Speaking up will cost you something. And if your faith isn't your own, stored up within, what comes out when you are under pressure might not be the 'you' you are proud of.
The Outlaws follows the book of Acts through 48 devotional chapters. Each pairs a biblical account with a real modern story, exploring courage, failure, forgiveness, belonging, and faith under pressure.
Every chapter includes a biblical Root, a modern Mirror, The Parallel Unpacked, and a Your Move section with one concrete action for today. My hope is to help teens see the people in Scripture as people facing difficult choices and think honestly about their own.
I’d love to hear from readers of Christian nonfiction, parents, youth leaders, and anyone who cares about helping teens engage with Scripture.
