HOW CAN YOU LOSE WITH HEXTECH SOUL, ELDER SOUL, BARON AND GRUBS ????????
229
u/viktorayy OFGK but prefer G>OFK rn (DSG) Sep 12 '26
literally any other team even DSG and DIG could have ended with soul, baron, and elder
101
66
u/baelkie DNF 2026 please be human | Kiin Team Sep 12 '26
kt or dk could do it tbh
42
u/FappingMouse Sep 12 '26
Kt lost a game 14k up with multiple barons an elder and every enemy inhib down in January btw.
14
u/Inthegulags Sep 12 '26
They meant KT or DK could lose it
5
u/Jdorty Sep 13 '26
I think they were reiterating the other person's point with an example, not disagreeing.
57
u/Conker184741 Sep 12 '26
C9 did a really good job of cutting waves while SR had elder/baron and clearing/contesting just enough.

u/geokilla Sep 12 '26
I don't understand why they got those buffs and then didn't run down mid. Instead they were waiting for bot wave to crash? Gotta be match fixing
14
u/Vnaux Sep 12 '26
They legit just let that Yunara and Camille clear the wave they had for free like you had every buff possible why are you so fucking scared
→ More replies (1)24
u/MiLkBaGzz fan from 2014 until I die Sep 12 '26
thanatos stole mid wave at their inhib tower
12
u/geokilla Sep 12 '26
They were pushing down mid wave after the recall, and then they proceeded to let C9 clear the wave. I'm out right now but I'll find the time stamp later if you need it. Yeah it was 4 players down mid instead of 5 but why wasn't it 5 players down mid to begin with? You have every buff required to win the game, even if your hands are not as good.
10
u/Perfson Sep 12 '26
at 37:50 they allowed whole midwave to be cleared, then at 38:15 another wave was carefully cleared by Yunara. They probably made a call to wait for Fudge's push. But since Thanatos cut 3rd mid wave as well, it made things harder, they moved bot, were indecisive of engage because c9 were quite far near their nexus turrets, and Elder buff ended when they waited long enough for 4th mid wave.
100
u/Curiousoctos Sep 12 '26
That's the funny part, they engaged RIGHT AS THEIR ELDER BUFF WENT OUT. Actual comedy.
33
u/pacquan Sep 12 '26
Loki would have been dead if Elder was still on. He got to zonyas and delay the dive on elder-execute levels of HP.
78
12
u/LumiRhino Sep 12 '26
Did you know this exact same thing happened in a C9 vs SR game 2 years ago (back when Jojo was on C9 lol).
15
u/HowyNova Sep 12 '26
Na, Thanatos smurfed it with that timing. The real issue was SR deadset on the bot wave for the push, instead of just taking mid.

Remember on Pros when Fudge seemed mildly annoyed that Isles said that SR could maybe get one game but 2 wasn't happening because they throw too often from winning positions?
Jokes on Isles, SR was rarely, if ever, in a winning position to begin with. And when they were, it proceeded exactly as Isles predicted.
141
159
u/MachCutio Sep 12 '26
Fudge was at least winning all his lanes but when your carries are Zinie and Bvoy it's rough
109
u/Past_Perception8052 Sep 12 '26
his best series all year in lane but out of lane he is not that good
36
u/p463jgza995 Sep 12 '26
They should make laning phase 90% of the game 🗿

he almost threw that last game for flashing in lane and causing contractz having to cover his lane everytime he had to push out. also he did nothing outside of lane all those games.
66
u/Temporary-Ad6144 Sep 12 '26
Its so funny how isles got influenced by inspireds bluntness and gets proven right
26
u/ChiefEmu Sep 12 '26
SR can be coached better by other LCS players than their own staff
16
u/Temporary-Ad6144 Sep 12 '26
Idk what david han has to do next year but he should do whatever it takes to bring jojo and dylan falco back and maybe promote a tier2 na adc and support or get sajed
6
u/cmcdonald22 Sep 13 '26
I will never get the Sajed belief, bottom team or not I saw him do absolutely nothing all season. Like I saw Zinie pop off more than Sajed.

Fudge/Srtty/Zamudo, Contractz, Jojopyun, Sajed/Sushee, Zyko/Zeyzal would unironically be pretty good with 4 or 5 NA players.

If you actually saw the whole quote/explanation afterawards and not the headline, Bvoy was talking about how since he had more recent experience in Tier 1 and scrimming Tier 1 players as an advantage over Tactical, it would feel like he didn't use his time properly in T1 if he lost. He just doesn't have perfect English. I don't think he was talking shit about Tactical, it was more about him feeling bad about himself.

What a masterclass in planning and macro. Despite the fumbles, C9 pulled some really clever moves.
Thanatos backdooring and cutting that mid wave bought them JUST ENOUGH TIME for elder to fall off and turn the game around. What a move.
45
u/ChiefEmu Sep 12 '26
You can tell which coaches have taught fundamentals. SR letting the entire late game play out like that is a sign of a poorly coached team
14
u/NeighborhoodHot8981 Sep 13 '26
True, but also evidence of a team that doesn't get into winning positions often enough to learn how to cleanly close games out
9
u/JayceGod Sep 13 '26
this scrims aren't taken seriously enough by most teams when losing so stage is the best place to get practice closing out games so the best teams have a lot of opportunities to get better wheras the others..
2
u/Athena-Grande Sep 13 '26
I’m convinced Thanatoes is the second best player in LCS with only Inspired ahead of him. He’s just not a team leader like Inspired.

How are they supposed to be better than they are? Bvoy and Zinie are awful. Fudge is mid to awful.
Contractz is the only good player they have, and he is inconsistent.

I will never understand this sub’s hate boner for Fudge
3
u/Imabuffguy95 Sep 13 '26 edited Sep 13 '26
It mostly started from his international performances where he’d talk a lot before games, say solo queue was worthless practice (even during Worlds bootcamps), create a lot of hype for NA and C9 fans, and then ego pick some aggressive top pick like Fiora only to get absolutely dumpstered. This created a lot of resentment from fans which only grew after he trash talked his own fans on broadcast.

u/RavenFAILS Sep 13 '26
That’s a wild take I’m surprised it has so many upvotes
Fudge was definitely not the problem and is probably better than denathor.
Contractz> Dardoch even though he hasn’t been too good this series.
Palafox is the worst mid in the league, FBI >Bvoy I guess and Zeyzal is definitely better than Ignar in 2026

tbh c9 managed the waves incredibly well, even sneaking around to cut the waves a few times with blaber and thanatos.. they delayed them to the last moments

SR just lack basic late game fundamentals which would tell them to walk with their wave with baron and full buffs and engage as it hits turret.

u/kelliam1 Sep 12 '26
That's a shitty way to say anything. First fudge is the one to goad him into saying stuff and secondly everyone wants trash talk then shits on the people for doing it. Bvoy isn't trash he just doesn't have a team. It's basically like tactical when he was on immortals and such.

About a few months ago, Shopify GM said: "If you wanna be a Shopify player, a Shopify coach, you’ve gotta show me that you deserve to be here."

u/The_JeneralSG Sep 12 '26 edited Sep 12 '26
The funniest thing is that I’m usually a Bvoy apologist. In a lot of SR’s wins, it felt like it was usually contractz or him popping off a little, but this series was genuinely a disaster. Even Zinie was doing stuff in game 2. That was 3 trash performances in a row from Bvoy.
On the flip, I’m usually a Fudge hater a little but he deserves a medal for not going full Dardoch this series. He was bopping Thanatos around but his carries are unadulterated poop juice.
C9 was whatever this series. It was a 3-0 which is better than the 3-1 many predicted, but some of the mistakes they’re still making is mind boggling for a team like this. Still predicting they are better than everyone not TL or Lyon, so they’re getting worlds.
2
u/NeighborhoodHot8981 Sep 13 '26
I agree, they have really good moments but equally at least once per game they make the most asinine skirmish decision which against LYON/TL just loses you the entire game on the spot. Luckily for C9, SR is not good enough to capitalise under evidently ANY circumstnaces.
20
u/HuTaoWow Sep 12 '26
i dont even want to think about what Zven would have done there
13
u/owa00 Sep 12 '26

u/Pulsar-GB Sep 12 '26

2
u/Rhombinator Sep 13 '26
3-0 Shopify; pre-Tactical C9 just collapses if topside falters. Always felt like it was live or die by Thanatos carry and today it didn't feel like that. Was kinda nice.

? He was the only reason why that last game even looked good for SR and his game 2 he was ran down by the rest of SR (-Fudge) too.
13
u/Skyfire2 Sep 12 '26
That was the best game he played all year and he still got picked off twice for free in that last game which stalled his team’s momentum.
He’s just not it. I see why the LCK orgs passed on him
2
u/Bubbly_Camera9583 Sep 12 '26
This game isn’t better than his other Sylas game + his Annie vs DIG. He only got picked off once for free and even that time was because Contractz just inted. Unless you’re including the botlane pick but C9 had to chase and use so many resources that their positioning for soul became super awkward, which lead to the Loki pick mid into Zinie cleaning up the fight to guarantee soul.

Replace bvoy and zinie they do not benefit the region waste of import slots
5
u/sorendiz ..BUT THE FAITH REMAINS Sep 13 '26
I will be actively hatewatching any team stupid enough to start this bum Bvoy next year. I never want to see his goofy ass in tier 1 play again
Zinie has also been largely dogshit but at least I understand why someone might gamble on him considering how he was supposed to be the up and coming prodigy of LCKCL and all that. I still don't want to see him either, but if I was forced to choose between keeping one of tweedledee and tweedledum i'd take zinie over bvoy in a heartbeat. Maybe someday he gets his shit together and has a Quid arc (doubtful). Bvoy though isn't even a washed-up has-been, he's just a never-was.
Contractz/Fudge/Zeyzal is by no means some worldbeater core, but they definitely deserve better than this garbage for carries. And get rid of Reven while you're at it, deeply unserious coach.
7
u/SauceGodPluto Sep 12 '26
If C9 play vs LYON like this I can't see anything but a 3-0 stomp, will be interesting to see Berserker vs Tactical & Dhokla vs Thanatos

5
u/Sufficient_Cash_2530 Sep 12 '26
tbh ive noticed c9 just plays worse against the worse teams, i think they'll be competitive vs Lyon but still lose in the end 1-3 or 2-3

So, every shopify player took turns inting their teammates but I think my flop of the series is bvoy over Zinie though because he was still playing so chickenshit until it was too late and c9 was in the base. Zinie at least looked good in game 3. Zeyzal, the literally retired player, was probably the least worst this series if only because I can't think of anything egregiously wrong he did across three games, just mediocre the whole time. Fudge is also in contention but he griefed at the start of game 3 more than zeyzal griefed the bard game. Contractz was human for two games then lost his god damn mind in 3. Less said about zinie's first two the better. And Bvoy better keep his promise.

u/Gauntex Sep 12 '26
In the team with a retired player that came halfway through the year, somehow the imports are the worst players.

Fudge/Contractz in that last fight were so bad. They took so much damage from Yunara for free.

Losing with Hextech soul, Nash, and Elder is a generational level of dogshit. Holy fuck I do not want to watch anymore SR games. Go next year with a real botlane please.

Another game for the "Hextech soul is not that good" column, it just doesn't change lategame fights that are all about snap engages.
