C9 shot calling is so bad and has been for years. Just give the drake and scale. Lyons clearly has no wincon unless they force you to walk into them. Its not soul for Lyon, your Cait just hit 3 items, play top/mid and get more gold on Cait and Ori, pressure baron. Anything but walking into fed Leblanc and Yunara. It's the same shit with blaber for almost a decade with not being able to give objectives and play for a better fight.
2
u/levelonenovice Aug 30 '26
no brains, mid hands. tough combo.
3
u/DaftMaetel15 Aug 30 '26
His hands used to be really good and it covered for his lack of brain because he would just click better than the other team. Inspired is too good to let him do that and its why he runs circles around blaber. Everything but one has changed from the days of C9 being a dominant org amd advancing at worlds. Coaching, multiple iterations at every position, yet Jack never looks at blaber because he's their "franchise player"
3
u/levelonenovice Aug 30 '26
he's certainly their biggest issue but he's not their only one. i also don't know who you replace him with domestically that is better except contractz (on good days). then you have to deal with thanatos and loki going ghost. tactical and zven are both B/C tier ADCs and don't have the hands to compete with the likes of a berserker or yeon.
tough when you think about how they used to have jojo mid and berserker adc but hitched their wagon to blaber and the coaching staff. insult to injury, inspired was available at several points.
obligatory #EMENESWASRIGHT #JUSTICEFOREMENES

u/Ajp_iii Aug 30 '26
c9 NEEDS a person to say no on their team. as soon as bard gets poked and you have to play retake you just leave. you dont need that drake. you outscale wait for soul. even with soul you can win into.
lyon look for fights that they are favored in. c9 just try to fight everything. this is why inspired constantly beats blaber.
6
u/levelonenovice Aug 30 '26
inspired has evolved the longer he plays, from ceo of full clear to playing however the team/comp needs. blaber has been the exact same instinctive, copy LPL/LCK earlygame player he's been since he entered the league and instinctive junglers get read like a book by Inspired.
4
u/levelonenovice Aug 30 '26
i'm calling it, cloud9 is going to miss internationals
2
u/throwable_armadillo Aug 30 '26
they have 2 of them to miss this time
I don't think they go to worlds
but they might go to fries worlds (demacia cup)then we can see them perform like we did at the americas cup this year

leblanc lulu ult is so insane. also renekton got dd before that drake. c9 shouldnt be fighting that drake on retake
5

6
u/kazuyaminegishi Aug 30 '26
Lyon late game is awkward without hard engage, they just need C9 to step slightly too far forward and start a fight. So Lyon has to keep forcing objectives.
7
5
1
u/Ajp_iii Aug 30 '26
this is why blaber going for that other drake was so dumb. if he didnt die for that and c9 farmed the map when lyon got their first drake it would only be like 3k gold lead for lyon
3

3
u/kazuyaminegishi Aug 30 '26
Just like it has been all year, the real gap between the teams that are good and the teams that are great is that good teams only know how to fight while great teams know how to fight and how not to fight.
2
u/Ajp_iii Aug 30 '26
forcing tp before drake is so big. c9 should give up this drake also. and wait for cait 3 items.
nevermind dhokla got chunked before drake
5
u/Ajp_iii Aug 30 '26
inspired is so good finding early game gank angles when his lane requires it to have a chance in this game. cait bard should stomp this lane but inspired was bot twice and they also tower dove cait 2v2.
it blew the game open for what should normally happen in draft. think blaber has to sacrfice his farm to be there for one of the bot ganks that you know will most likely happen
1
u/Bubbly_Camera9583 Aug 30 '26
That really looked like Inspired should have gone through Bard portal
5
u/Cr0matose Aug 30 '26
10 top for a crab is wild lol
3
3
u/Choice-Slight caps/knight Aug 30 '26
they TP'd for that shit too, the junglers have truly mind controlled their teams lmao
3
u/awayfromcanuck Aug 30 '26
Every time C9 has a chance to show they have brains, they prove they dont.
Why are you forcing 3rd drake? Just freaking cross map. You have 2 drakes, you can give up 3rd and 4th to get yourself gold.
2
u/Ajp_iii Aug 30 '26
c9 literally have 15 minutes to scale into the game. just give up every drake until its soul point for lyon. its only lyon to snowball the game but it feels like c9 think they need to snowball for no reason
1
u/Wide-Huckleberry-514 Aug 30 '26
They weren't out of position, they were just positioning for Inspired to go THROUGH them.

Being Jarvan against Lee Sin is actual hell. Don't blame Blaber inting for trying to escape the game lul

Thought blaber was doing well for himself and then he throws himself into melee range of LB for fun
2
4
u/Ajp_iii Aug 30 '26
blaber???????? why are c9 fighting this. they are up 2 drakes.
7
u/kazuyaminegishi Aug 30 '26
APA would have been in a side lane farming and begging them to not go in. But this team has no one who can play the map.
5
u/Ajp_iii Aug 30 '26
tactical still hasnt finished his quest at 17 minutes. that gives so much extra gold to berserker
2
u/Cr0matose Aug 30 '26
I only play ARAM, how do you see quest shit? lol
1
u/Ajp_iii Aug 30 '26
its the little items that show up underneath the team names for positions. when they light up its completed. also adc boots are in inventory until they complete it

2
u/Bubbly_Camera9583 Aug 30 '26
Dhokla was 1000% savable there with kick
2
u/kazuyaminegishi Aug 30 '26
Kick or Lulu ult, and they still would have had them up for Dragon fight too. I'm not sure why they let him die.
2
u/Ajp_iii Aug 30 '26
no reason to risk it. just get plates and get more gold on other side of map
3
u/kazuyaminegishi Aug 30 '26
Probably would have been a nightmare of they got 2 or 3 man Bard ulted thinking of it from the other way.
Not that Dhokla matters this gane when the Yunara was already 1.5k up.

it is cool how lyon play slow game one game and then next game they camp bot and hard trade it even into losing lanes.
4
u/Strong_Reference_762 Aug 30 '26
Its so funny to have all this action bot and then cut to top having a 0 braincell proxy-off
2
u/levelonenovice Aug 30 '26
byebye c9. lyon just look more active. unless c9 can snowball, they're gonna get run over by lyon's better team play and hands mid-late.
1
u/kazuyaminegishi Aug 30 '26
I was thinking this when TL played this lane too, but Lulu is doing a LOT of damage early game, no?
2
u/Strong_Reference_762 Aug 30 '26
Do you think c9 would be better or worse with apa and zven this split
8
u/kazuyaminegishi Aug 30 '26
I genuinely think they would look better with APA. They don't really need hands the team needs someone to be their brain.
Tactical has the x-factor they needed, but it feels like they just don't have a proper playmaker they just have people who want to carry.
3
4
u/malakesxasame Aug 30 '26
Controversial unpopular opinion but better. They're 3-1 but have looked pretty bad in every series so far.
3
u/Strong_Reference_762 Aug 30 '26
I think zven is for sure a more valuable player than tactical, and i think a lot of people are lower on apa than me but i think hes a pretty exciting and creative player who often sees plays that other mids wouldn't
2
u/malakesxasame Aug 30 '26
I agree on both counts, unfortunately I don't see them switching players out unless they go on a loss streak or something though.
2
u/Hefty-Reception22 Aug 30 '26
If they lose 2-0 and don't sub either of them out, it makes the whole 7 man roster seem pretty fake.
3
u/malakesxasame Aug 30 '26
6+ man rosters are almost always fake. They just rotate players based on who is winning. Lose = subbed out.
3
u/Kokaiinum Aug 30 '26
Those zoomed in low observer camera angles really reveals some stuff that the regular perspective hides. I would never have thought LeBlanc was about a head taller than Orianna.
2
u/kazuyaminegishi Aug 30 '26
LMAO it looks troll, but it is the right play it guarantees they kill Tactical

c9 drafting very good today. lyon going ultra standard. dont know if they are doing it because lack of prep or they generally dont care and just saving for playoffs.

3
u/Strong_Reference_762 Aug 29 '26
Sometimes it feels like lyon is so confident in their hands that they just draft whatever

u/Ajp_iii Aug 29 '26
im kinda shocked titanic wasnt built before on xin. he looks so much stronger especially mid and late than sundered sky.
1
8
u/Ajp_iii Aug 29 '26
its actual criminal how underrated saint actually is. maybe its just cause hes young or its cause he plays in na. like he outperformed zeka in their hle series. and probably across msi was even in play with zeka with knight being best mid.
and how much pressure he asborbs in games is so noticeable.
3
u/Choice-Slight caps/knight Aug 29 '26
I think he was criminally underrated going into MSI because he was relatively inconsistent for most of the year. He had many games where he would just grief. but the inspired buff is real he is 10x the player he was 6 months ago. now he's like top 5 mids in the world
3
u/Ajp_iii Aug 29 '26
yeah the early griefing really still sticks with him a little. but since like spring playoffs he has barely ever griefed and this split was playing without a jungler when mid jungle is so important and still being ahead 1v2ing lanes.
6
u/kazuyaminegishi Aug 29 '26
It's just the Inspired blinders. I noticed that I am usually the only person around here reminding people that Saint is easily the best player on this team and the players on the team themselves know it. But people still say it's Inspired.
If you watch Lyon vlogs their entire team structure is around enabling Saint and if you look at how Lyon won this past split it was because they told Saint to start egoing resources. He's a monster and it's not just his mechanics, he has an elite understanding of how to put himself in a carry position which a lot of players don't understand.
3
u/Ajp_iii Aug 29 '26
inspired is probably biggest team buff for winning in na but actual world class elite talent its easily saint.
8
u/awayfromcanuck Aug 29 '26
I dont know how much itll be talked about but Thanatos low key cost C9 from snowballing the game at key points.
Edit: ahh Raz highlighted Thanatos dying 20 seconds before 4th drake.

5
u/CreativeAd2758 Aug 29 '26
C9 lost with such draft is insane but the game was kinda lost once the soul was gone and c9 had ziggs late game
2
u/Ajp_iii Aug 29 '26
ziggs late game is so fake and its weird no casters or analysts have really talked about it. ziggs in pro is more of a mid game champ before everyone is saving flashes and having utility items for a clean fight.
whenever ziggs goes late in an even or losing game he just loses
1
3
u/Ajp_iii Aug 29 '26
c9 played great that game they will 100% go to worlds. feel all 3 na teams going to worlds are at a good level and probably the strongest top 3 in a long time for na.
3
u/levelonenovice Aug 29 '26
don't underestimate Clown9's ability to choke away a trip to internationals when they're "one of the strongest teams"
4
u/CensoredLlama1 BUFF RAMMUS PLEASE Aug 29 '26
I enjoy that HLE and Lyon both decided to play like an LPL team this year and they're both so fun to watch and are great
4
u/levelonenovice Aug 29 '26
maybe it's just me but Thanatos looks worse and worse the longer he's on C9
3
u/kazuyaminegishi Aug 29 '26
I just think Lane Kingdom players have a short shelf life. Usually they figure out some little thing in lane that no one else realizes and then when that gets figured out they look much worse.
Or teams just stop engaging them in lane and just outperform them in team fights.
Players like Chovy who excel at both aspects are pretty much the only way forward for Lane Kingdom players to me.
2
u/blitzKriegzzz Aug 29 '26
Thanatos strengths has always been laning and weakness outside of lane, so not really much a surprise putting him on a teamfight champion
1
u/levelonenovice Aug 29 '26
when he first joined c9 he had some hardcarry rumble games and these days it's doing nothing and he's getting caught nonstop

said this elsewhere, but literally no team in the west teamfights at the level of inspired saint berserker. watch how they're clicking these fights, the ego is unbelievable
also if anyone says berserker isn't the best ADC in the west show them screenshots of this game where he's melee as Lucian and wipes enemy team
5
u/Ajp_iii Aug 29 '26
saint imo is like top 3-4 mid in the world on the day when he plays to his peak
his pure mechanics are the best player thats ever played in lcs i feel. it literally looks sometimes like you took zeka and put him in na. he goes for plays no other player in the west even looks for and saves so much damage/utility for his team with his stopwatch and flash timings.
3
u/arshpotter9 NAmen Aug 30 '26
there's a very strong argument that LYON has 3 of the best players in the west in role, and that all of them are top 3-5 at Worlds (not accounting for Caps Magic)

u/bmothebest Aug 29 '26

Blaber holding his team hostage against a good team as usual misplayed 5 situations in row
3
u/Ajp_iii Aug 29 '26
i think saint and berserker dodged like 4-5 vulcan hooks in that extended fight to open up areas for dhokla and inspired to dive in
6
u/Ajp_iii Aug 29 '26
this is why other teams lose with lucian. berserker is literally front lineing against a comp that can all one shot him and dodging naut hooks.
too many players dont have the hands to play lucian
6
u/kazuyaminegishi Aug 29 '26
THEY'RE SO PSYCHOTIC HOW DO YOU PLAY AGAINST LYON.
Dhokla gets the ult on Ziggs, Inspired delays and intentionally dies to Rumble flamespitter to heal off of GA, Berserker flashes FORWARD to soften up the team so Saint and Inspired can follow up, Saint perfectly times Zhonyas to get the heal before he dies all so Inspired can finish off Loki.
What do you do???

i will never understand pro players hatred for building grevious wounds. ziggs applies it so easily and 3 of the enemy’s heal. as they limp away with sub 200 hp all of these fights and slowly come out on top it’d make such a big difference

4

C9's execution is so sloppy. They have so many ways of guaranteeing huge teamfight damage, but they're not coordinating Yone, Vi, or Naut R to guarantee Rumble or Ziggs R. One or both of Berserker or Saint should honestly be dying in every fight from now on regardless of peel.
2

I would really like to see C9 play APA at least once or twice more this year. I know Loki has a "better" champion pool, but I can't imagine APA Ziggs and Tactical on a normal marksman would have a lower EV than this team comp.
2
u/Ajp_iii Aug 29 '26
he just wouldnt get ziggs. just as lyon banned ez so tactical couldnt get him. c9 went even in hard lanes to play
1

casters really said lyon wouldn't fight until soul not realizing they are in their powerspike.
2
u/kazuyaminegishi Aug 29 '26
I didn't understand that. Lyon fights when they are strongest or when they have advantage.
The only other time they fight is if they feel the game is on the precipice of being doomed.
